The Harris Center has added two new classes for seniors of the
community. Tales from the Table where you will create a journal of
memories and recipes. The class will guide you through writing memories
and recipes so your loved ones can have a keepsake. The class is $25 to
cover the cost of supplies. Another new class is Advanced Beginner
Spanish where you can practice conversation and learn some fun websites
and apps. The cost is $60/person and $100/couple plus the cost of the
book.



April 10 - Atlanta Dogwood Festival • Atlanta, GA
An Atlanta staple for more than 75 years, there is
something for everyone at the Atlanta Dogwood
Festival. Virtually every kind of art imaginable is
featured, including sculpture, paintings, pottery,
jewelry, photography, and much more. A wide array
of diverse musical offerings will perform for your enjoyment . And
when you get hungry, follow the delicious smells of funnel cakes,
gyros, crab cakes, onion rings, kettle corn, and much, much more!
The cost of the trip includes transportation and admission into the
festival. Please bring extra money for lunch. $5. Payable to the AAB.
When: Friday, April 10 • 10am - 6pm
April 13 – Creek Casino • Montgomery, AL Hop in the
van and try your luck as we venture to the casino on
Senior Day and hopefully win big! You MUST
provide your legal name, full birthday, address and
casino player card number (if applicable) upon
registration in order to receive group benefits. Trips are limited to
10 people per month. Registration will not open until the first day of
that month’s trip and you may not attend two months in a row
unless the trip is not full after the first day of registration. $5.
Payable to the AAB. When: Monday, April 13• 10am - 3:30pm
Date Change! April 16 – Into the Woods– Faulkner Dinner
Theater • Montgomery, AL A childless baker and his
wife endeavor to lift their family curse by journeying
into the woods, where they encounter Rapunzel,
Cinderella, Jack (of Beanstalk fame), Little Red Riding
Hood, and other classic fairy tale characters, and they all must learn
the responsibility that comes with getting what you want. Combine
the enchanting music of the great Stephen Sondheim with the tales
of the Brothers Grimm and you have an epic fairy tale where worlds
collide. Cost of the trip includes transportation, admission and
dinner. $35. Payable to the AAB. When: Thursday, April 16 •
5pm - 11pm.
May 8 – Montgomery Biscuits Baseball Game • Montgomery, AL
Spring is in the air and so is baseball season! Come join
us as we watch the Montgomery Biscuits and the
Birmingham Barons on Family, Faith, and Fireworks
Night! The cost of the trip includes transportation and
admission to the game. Please bring extra money for
dinner prior to the game. $20. Payable to the AAB. When: Friday,
May 8 • Time Change! 5pm - 11pm.

Easter Egg Hunt and Lunch
Who says kids get to have all the fun? Come out for our very first 50+ Easter Egg Hunt
and Lunch! Gather for fellowship and a good meal before searching high and low for
goody-filled eggs on the grounds of the Harris Center. Leave no stone, leaf, or chair
unturned in order to find the most eggs and win a multitude of prizes!

50+ Book Club: Shine, Shine, Shine by Lydia Netzer
The 2015 One Book, One Village has chosen to read Shine, Shine, Shine by Lydia Netzer.
The book tells the story of a pregnant woman with alopecia, her astronaut husband,
their autistic son, and her mother, who is dying from cancer. In addition to
our reading and discussing a common book, join us at the Auburn Public
Library on Thursday April 23rd for a special event featuring Lydia Netzer.
