An Intimate evening with the Ukulele Orchestra
of Great Britain Fri 21st February 7:30pm
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is a touring musical group
which has been delighting audiences, raising the roof, selling out
performances and receiving standing ovations since 1985; a group of
“all-singing, all strumming” ukulele players that has been active for 27
years, using instruments bought for loose change, which holds that all
genres of music are available for reinterpretation as long as they are
played on the ukulele.
The orchestra is celebrated for its rapport with audiences, and eliciting
a joyous feel-good reaction. A description of the concert’s basis
sounds astoundingly simple: eight performers, eight instruments, eight
voices, (no gimmicks, no stage set, props or scenery, no fireworks, no
special effects, no light show, no dancers, no laptops, no samples).
And yet, as millions have enthused about over the years, the orchestra
tears the house down with music, stomping and toe tapping tunes,
banter and wit. Join the orchestra for their first visit to Kettering.

the world for over 20 years, a career that
ironically out lives Marc’s very own T.Rex.

Bolan & T.Rex, and the only band endorsed
and approved by Marc Bolan’s family, estate,
original ex-members of T.Rex, and Bolan’s
catalogue management. The band has
been described by many as ‘beyond the
boundaries of tribute’.
Hit songs include I love to Boogie and Ride A
White Swan.

a Welshman and travelling the world, but
she’s still - like the littlest hobo - seeking her

group to have toured with the Beatles and
twice with the Rolling Stones. You’ll be rockin

Pam Ayres brings her latest show to
The Lighthouse Theatre following the
recent publication of her new book of

Pam Ayres’ work is funny, and
approachable. It sounds simple, as
though dashed off, but this is deceptive.
Her hair-trigger timing, her eye for
the detail of everyday life, and for the
absurdity therein, makes for an art that
hides art.
