Croatia One Week Charter Sample Itinerary Day 1 (from 12 noon) Trogir On arrival at Split airport, you will be met and transferred to the marina at Trogir (a short distance by road). Your captain and crew will welcome you on board your luxurious Sunseeker with a glass of chilled champagne. Once you have had the opportunity to settle in, the skipper will give a short safety briefing before the motoryacht heads out of the marina. Your Sunseeker will cruise to a bay where it will anchor. Enjoy a relaxing lunch here, followed by an afternoon of watersports and sunbathing. Later you will return to Trogir marina. You may wish to spend the evening in Trogir – often referred to as ‘little Venice’ – which is a UNESCO heritage town. Explore the old town via its network of alleyways – this town will particularly appeal to those interested in architecture and cultural and historical monuments too. Here, there are several restaurants to choose from. Day 2 Trogir – Milna, Bra č Island After breakfast on the aft deck of your motoryacht in Trogir, the vessel will set off. Today’s cruise will take you to the island of Brač, which is about 15 miles from Trogir. En route, you will pass the islands of Čiovo and Šolta. There are several anchorages along the way where you may wish to stop for a swim or snorkel and to have some lunch. Enjoy the stunning scenery from the comfort of your world-class motoryacht. Tonight’s stopover is at Milna, which is the westernmost town and largest natural harbour on Brač Island. Brač is the highest of the islands in the Croatian Adriatic, with the peak of Vidova Gora reaching 779m. This island is rich with pine forests, vineyards and olive groves. Brač is also famous for its white stone – quarried since Roman times – which has been used to construct famous buildings such as the White House in Washington. Enjoy a relaxing evening in this small, attractive harbour town. 2 Day 3 Milna, Bra č Island – Hvar Today’s journey will take you to the adjacent island of Hvar. This is the largest and sunniest island of the archipelago. There are many coves to visit on the way, and there are some super beaches along the southern side of Brač Island. Hvar is famous for its prehistory – there are several archaeological sites to visit for those who are interested – and its locally grown lavender, which you will find in the shops in the form of dried flowers and oils. There are also several buildings worth visiting in Hvar town – the arsenal, which is now an art gallery; the theatre, which is thought to be Europe’s oldest public theatre; the 16th Century cathedral; and the Franciscan monastery. In front of the cathedral is Hvar’s piazza, which is the largest in Dalmatia. The town of Hvar is attractive and has enjoyed tourism for over a century. As a result of this, you will find a good selection of restaurants serving fish specialities and locally produced wine. 3 Day 4 Hvar – Komi ža, Vis This morning your Sunseeker will slip its mooring and cruise out to the Pakleni Islands, which lie a short distance south west from Hvar Town. This series of limestone islets offer an idyllic series of coves which are perfect for swimming, snorkelling and water sports. Here you can enjoy a relaxing morning on the water, or take the tender ashore to sunbathe on one of the sand beaches. Less than an hour away is your next destination – Vis Island. Of the most westerly islands, Vis is the largest. Inhabited for thousands of years, Vis has a rich history. It is very much unspoilt by tourism as it was forbidden for foreigners to visit the island until 1989. Your stopover on Vis will be the town of Komiža, which is situated in a large sandy bay on the western coast. Take the opportunity to try some of the island’s wine – the vineyards here have been operating for 2,000 years. 4 Day 5 Komi ža, Vis – Kor čula Today’s cruise will take around three hours. Leaving Komiža on the island of Vis, you will journey east towards Korčula Island. This route will allow you to see the length of the island You may wish to anchor in a bay for lunch and a swim before your motoryacht rounds the eastern tip of the island and heads into Korčula town. As you approach, you will see the impressive architecture of the walled town, which juts out into the sea. This is a wonderful little town to explore – full of alleyways and shops, which sell art, crafts and locally produced wine and soaps. There are several bars and restaurants in the old town as well as closer to the marina. Day 6 Kor čula – Okuklje, Mljet Island The island of Mljet is said to be one of the most enchanting of the Adriatic. Having departed Korčula, in a little over half an hour you will be approaching the north-eastern tip of the island. You may wish to anchor in the bay at Luka Polače for lunch. This is a delightful area which is protected by several smaller islands. This north-eastern area of Mjlet has ‘National Park’ status. Later, you will continue along the northern coastline of this island to the anchorage of Okuklje. This attractive cove is surrounded by green hills. The village of Okuklje is small but has a handful of restaurants. However, tonight being your penultimate night on board, you may wish to dine on the aft deck of your motoryacht, under the stars. 5 Day 7 Okuklje, Mljet Island – Dubrovnik After a great breakfast, your Sunseeker motoryacht will head out of the cove at Okuklje and head east towards the Elephite Islands, which run parallel to the coast of Croatia as far as Dubrovnik. You will have your pick of anchorages in this stunning area – whether it’s off a small remote island, or perhaps in the sheltered bay at Šipanska Luka. Here, you may wish to take the tender ashore and have a look around the small town. Back on the water, you will continue through the beautiful scenery to Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik Marina is a little way along the river and is surrounded by steep hills. It is a picturesque and tranquil marina, complete with an outdoor swimming pool and restaurant. Tonight, you may wish to take a car into Dubrovnik’s centre and explore the large walled town. There are many shops to look at and plenty of restaurants and bars to enjoy. Day 8 (until 12 noon) Dubrovnik by day and by night Have a relaxing morning enjoying the marina facilities in spectacular surroundings before you captain and crew bid you a fond farewell.
