Finish quilt by layering the quilt top, batting, and back. Bind with
your favorite Riley Blake Designs fabric from the Hooty Hoot
Kangaroo Collection. Have fun with the colors and enjoy the
journey of making your quilt.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:
1 panel (C3012 Blue)
¼ yard starburst (C3013 Blue)
5/8 yard stripe (C3017 Cream)
½ yard owl roll call (C3011 Cream)
½ yard main print (C3010 Blue)
Binding 5/8 yard
Backing 3¼ yards
CUTTING REQUIREMENTS:
Please read instructions first before cutting. Seam allowances
vary, so measure through the center of the quilt before cutting
border pieces.
Quilt Center
Cut 36½” x 38½” rectangle from panel (C3012 Blue)
Border 1
Cut 4 strips 1½” x 38½” from cream stripe (C3017 Cream)
Border 2
Cut 2 strips 5½” x 40½” from blue main print (C3010 Blue)
Cut 2 strips 5½” x 38½” from cream owl roll call (C3011 Cream)
Cut 3 squares 5½” x 5½” from blue starburst (C3013 Blue)
Cut 1 label 5½” x 5½” from panel (C3012 Blue)
Border 3
Cut 6 strips 1½” x WOF from cream stripe (C3017 Cream)
QUILT ASSEMBLY:
Refer to quilt photo for placement of fabrics.
Border 1
Sew a 38½” stripe border piece to each side of the quilt. Sew
the two remaining 38½” stripe border pieces to the top and the
bottom of the quilt.
Border 2
Sew a 40½” blue main print border piece to each side of the
quilt. Sew 2 of the 5½” blue starburst squares to each end of a
38½” cream owl roll call border piece. Sew this border to the top
of the quilt. Sew the remaining 5½” blue starburst square to one
end of a 38½” cream owl roll call border piece and the 5½” label
to the other end. Sew this border to the bottom of the quilt.
Border 3
Sew the six 1½” stripe pieces together end to end. Cut four
border pieces 50½” long. Sew a border piece to each side of the
quilt. Sew the two remaining border pieces to the top and the
bottom of the quilt.
