Strategic focus
• Tekfen Holding is devoted to the motto “do what you know best in the best way
possible” which was determined by its founding shareholders. In this framework
Tekfen has focused on Contracting, Agri-industry / Terminal Services and Real-Estate
Development sectors.
• Contracting is an activity that Tekfen Holding operates in since its foundation and
has gained first class expertise. The potential demand for contracting activities of the
countries in Middle East, Caspian Region and North Africa which have been
developing and enriching in the recent years has played a key role in the
determination of this activity as a strategic focus.
•Agri-industry sector addresses to the most basic need of the mankind, namely
nutrition. Fertilizer, on the other hand, is an indispensable input for agri sector. Due to
the growing world population in addition to the alternative uses like bio-fuel
production, it is anticipated that demand for agricultural production and for fertilizers
will grow. As a result, this activity has a strategic focus for the Group.

Strategic focus
• Terminal activities are undertaken in the framework of Agri-industry segment
comprising of two marine terminals strategically located in the Mediterranean and the
Black Sea regions.
• It is observed that in parallel to the development and enrichment of every country,
demand for modern, luxurious and high standard residential and commercial housing
increases. Hence, Real Estate Development is another strategic focus for Tekfen
Group.
• Tekfen Holding aims to grow and become leader in the strategic sectors mentioned
above and does not plan to enter new sectors in the near future.

• Tekfen Group believes that supporting social culture and environmental activities
are the natural extentions of its corporate structure. All the companies under the

Overview
• With its sister companies Tekfen Engineering, Tekfen Manufacturing,
Hallesche Mitteldeutsche Bau-AG (HMB) (Germany), AZFEN (Azerbaijan) and
strategic partnerships, Tekfen is positioned to extend its services to a large
range of clients on three continents.
• The Group has one of the largest equipment fleets in Turkey with a
replacement value of US$ 350 million.
• As of 2013-end, Tekfen Contracting Group had an active portfolio of US$ 3
billion, 85% of which are abroad, located in 8 different countries.
• In 2013, the Group undertook US$ 1,893 million of new works. Of this total,
US$ 1,757 million is in Azerbaijan and US$ 136 million is in Turkey. Total
additions to the backlog reached US$2.2 billion including the extensions in
ongoing projects.
• The projects in Azerbaijan are:
-US$ 640 million Baku Olympic Stadium with 68k persons capacity.
The project is expected to be completed in March 2015.
- Fabrication, installation and delivery of 2 offshore platforms and
associated platform connection bridge . Tekfen portion of the project
is US$ 496 million.

• Tekfen Contracting Group continues its operations in 8 countries spread around 2 continents (Asia & Africa).
Among these, in 7 countries (Turkey, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Morocco and Libya*)
Tekfen has construction sites. In Iraq, on the other hand, Tekfen gives project management services to BP.
• In addition to contracting activities, the Group has 3 manufacturing plants in Derince, Ceyhan (Turkey) and
Baku (Azerbaijan). Fabrication done (tanks, vessels, columns and heavy steel structures) in manufacturing
facilities of Tekfen are exported to countries such as Iran, Syria, Iraq and Brasil.

• Currently, the tenders entered into typically have a contract size of over
US$ 200 million, compared to the US$ 25 million threshold prior to 2005.
• Tekfen bids for 30 - 35 projects per year and the average success rate for
winning tenders is around 10%.
• The bid price is calculated as cost plus a mark-up, which is between 1525%.
• Average project completion period is approximately 2.5 years.
• Tax rates that the Group is exposed to in the countries it operates vary
between 0-35%.

• Founded in 1984.
• Undertakes the engineering (E) of EPC projects and the detailed engineering in other projects
of Tekfen Contracting Group.
• Has experience on a wide spectrum of projects, with an emphasis on pipelines, industrial,
process plants and motorways.
• The company employs a professional staff of over 100 engineers who utilize advanced
software in the preparation of all design and contract documents.
• Also serves non-group clients, mainly the General Directorate of Highways and
municipalities. Non-group clients generate around 35% of Tekfen Engineering’s business
volume.

• Specialized mainly in engineering, manufacturing and construction of high
quality process and storage equipment related to petroleum, petrochemical,
chemical and fertilizer industries and power plants, such as cylindrical and
spherical storage tanks, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, process columns,
waste heat recovery boilers and pressurized piping for industrial plants to
respond to Tekfen’s increasing steel production and fabrication needs.
• 188 skilled manpower.
• Design and fabrication are carried out according to International
Codes such as ASME, API, TEMA, AD-2000, EN 13445, BS etc. and the
company is qualified to work with all sorts of carbon steel materials
(including high tensile quenched and tempered), clad carbon steels, all
types of stainless steels, non-ferrous materials such as Monel, Brass,
Aluminum etc.
•Heavy manufacturing facility in Derince (Kocaeli), Turkey.
• Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Libya, Syria, Jordan, Oman,
Lebanon, Israel, Northern Cyprus, Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Sudan,

AZERBAIJAN – NEW MANAGEMENT OFFICE PROJECT OF SOCAR
Project is for the turnkey construction of SOCAR’s (State Oil Company of
Azerbaijan Republic) new headquarter complex in Baku. Project size, which was
USD 235 million initially, increased to USD 306 million.
Designed by Heerim Architects form South Korea, the two-towered project will
rise from an elongated, canopy-like podium and snake their way skywards.
Curving into each other, the seemingly shorter tower almost looks like its
resting its head on the chest of the taller tower, the taller towers peak slightly
bending over it in a confident, reassuring manner. The towers will have 32
floors, at a height of 173 meters. Covering an area of 12,000 square meters and
providing 100.000 sqm of usage area, the headquarter will mainly house office
space but will also have conference and sports facilities, a guest house and
retail spaces, food outlets to keep the expected 2000 employees in the tower.
AZERBAIJAN – COP-WC-PDQ (Chirag Oil Project - West Chirag –PDQ)
FABRICATION OF TOPSIDES, DRILLING FACILITIES AND THE INTEGRATION OF
LIVING QUARTERS
COP-WC-PDQ is a single integrated deck comprising a production platform, drilling
module, utilities and living quarters located 120 km South East of Baku, in water
depths of 170 meters within the 432 km² “Azeri - Chirag – Guneshli” Oil Field.
The onshore work scope covers fabrication, assembly, erection, testing,
mechanical completion, commissioning, weighing, jacking, onshore completion
and load-out of integrated deck.
The offshore work scope covers offshore hook up and commissioning assistance
works.
The project was undertaken in partnership with Azfen and AMEC.

delivery of 2 offshore platforms of total weight of 26.442 tonnes, and associated platform
connection bridge. Duration of work is 42 months from commencement date of the
contract.
SANGACHAL TERMINAL
The contract signed on between Tekfen – Azfen Consortium of which Tekfen is a member
and BP Exploration (Shah Deniz) Ltd. comprises construction of Shah Deniz Stage 2
Onshore Terminal Facilities at Sangachal, Baku,Azerbaijan. Scope of work includes
construction and installation of gas and condensate processing facilities, power
generation, storage tanks, utility systems, connections and upgrade works within existing
facilities, control systems, onshore pipelines between caspian sea shore and terminal,
compression facilities. Duration of work is 43 months from commencement date of the
contract.

The South Yoloten Gas Field Development is situated in the region of
Maryiskiy Welayat of Yoloteniskiy Etrap, 20 km to the South of Yoloten, in
the area of the 74th km of the trunk railway Mary – Serhetabad. The overall
gas development project targets upstream and treatment and downstream
works of 40 billion cubic meters natural gas annually.
Out of this 40 billion cubic meters, the EPC works for 10 billion cubic
meters including upstream works, flow lines, trunk lines, GTUs, central gas
processing facility and 56” gas export pipeline are under the scope of
Petrofac UIL. Accordingly, Tekfen has been awarded for the "utilities and
offsites" works of the Central Gas Processing facility including civil,
mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works and the installation of the
100 km long 56" cross-country export sales gas pipeline together with
assistance to commissioning works after the mechanical completion of the
aforementioned

of a 94 km Motorway, namely Primary Routes, North Road Project Phase 2 & 3.
The Main Works comprise two separate sections as described here below:
Contract 2 (Km : 4 + 000 – Km : 37 + 000): Contract “2” starts at Duhail, passing
through sub-urban and rural areas to the North of Doha City, namely Duhail,

Tekfen was awarded the construction of LSPB contract for Propylene Oxide Plant at
Sadara Petrochemical Complex. The scope of work covers all civil works, erection of

central control building. Project location is in Jubail, and is part of the SADARA Chemical
Company's petrochemical plant. The works are scheduled to be completed in 30 months

MOROCCO – OCP SLURRY PIPELINE PROJECT
OCP Slurry Pipeline project has been designed to deliver several grades of
phosphates to Jorf Lasfar Terminal. Project location is between Khouribga and
Jorf Lasfar. Project duration is 28 months.
The project scope includes Detail Engineering, Procurement, and Construction
(EPC) services to supply, install, and commission the facilities including all
associated works .
Project consists of approximately 240 km of pipelines including the feeder lines,
Doui Pump station, MEA Head Station, Halasaa pump station and Jorf Terminal.
Feeder pipelines from each wash plant pump station will deliver sequential batches
of each grade to segregated tanks at the head station at MEA. From the head
station sequential phosphate batches will be pumped through the main pipeline
into storage tanks at the terminal. One slurry grade will be supplied to the local acid
plants and all slurry grades will be supplied for export purposes.

LIBYA - AL KHUFRA - TAZERBO WATER CONVEYANCE SYSTEM (On Hold*)
Great Man Made River Authority of Libya awarded one of the most challenging
sections of Libya’s mega water transmission scheme to Tekfen – TML partnership
in 2005; Construction of Al Khufra - Tazerbo Water Conveyance System of 380 km
will take place at deeper south – east region of the Libyan Sahara.
Post-tensioned concrete pipes, each with a length of 7.5 meters, a diameter of 4
meters and a weigh of approximately 72 t, will be transported and erected to form
a water conveyance line within the scope of Great Man Made River Project, Phase
3 at the harsh conditions of Sahara Desert.
The source of the water is the Nubian Aquifer (a geological formation extending
from Western Cameroon to Eastern Palestine) in the south - east part of Libya.
The project is part of a multinational scheme monitored and supported by
International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), an organization under
United Nations.
* The political and social unrest in Libya forced Tekfen to stop all activities and leave country
together with all other foreign contractors in February 2011.

TURKEY – TÜPRAŞ IZMIT REFINERY, RESIDUUM UPGRADING PROJECT
Residuum Upgrade Project (RUP) has been decided for Izmit Refinery of Tüpraş, which
is located in Gulf of Izmit, at the center of a consumption hub that accounts for around
40% of Turkish petroleum product consumption.
The main purpose of the Residuum Upgrading Project (RUP) is to built units that
process the low value of fuel oil and convert it to valuable products. With completion of
the Residuum Upgrading Project, owner Tüpraş will process 4,2 million tons of high
sulfur fuel oil and produce 3,5 million tons of valuable high quality white products
(diesel / jet fuel, gasoline and LPG) in Euro-V standarts, 690,000 tons of petroleum coke
and 86,000 tons of sulfur.
Shell GSI, Foster Wheeler USA, UOP and Technip are the technology licensors for the
project. Tecnicas Reunidas, an international general contractor in engineering and
construction in the oil and gas sector, is the main contractor for the Project.
Tekfen has been awarded a $ 501 million contract that includes the execution of all
Construction Works for Civil Works, HVAC System, Steel Structure Engineering, Supply
and Erection, Mechanical Erection, Electrical and Instruments Installation and also
Precommissioning and Commissioning Activities.
As one of the most experienced contractors in the country in the oil and gas sector,
Tekfen will use approximately 5,000 of its own direct/indirect man-power in the peak,
utilize its own project management team and use its own machinery/equipments during
course of the project which started on December 2011. The project will last 33 months.

Social Responsibility
• The concept of “environmental friendly / sustainable building” is becoming more
and more important everyday as the awareness and consciousness for energy use
and environment increases. Tekfen Real Estate Group, as in its all other projects, is
aiming LEED-CS (core&shell) of The U.S. Green Building Association (USGBC) for
its new projects , Tekfen-OZ Kagithane OfisPark & Tekfen Bomonti Apartments.
• In accordance with this policy, Tekfen-OZ LeventOfis - completed in 2010 - is the
first project of the Group rewarded with LEED-CS Gold Certificate.
• The projects aim to achieve LEED certification by introducing sustainable solution
to design elements such as encouraging public transportation, collection and
reusing of storm water and grey water within the system, decreasing overall water
consumption, efficiency in energy consumption with shell design and decreasing
the load of the cooling system via plantation integrated within the facade system.

Fentox brand household insecticide
• Product line that includes Fentox Stop, Super Fentox,
Water-based New Fentox, Fentox Likit and Fentox Mat,
also new products Fenkov Lotion and Fenkov Aerosol
were added to this portfolio.
