Pedal Boxes
The Pro-Race range is a universal pedal solution suitable for most race applications. In 2012 some major
upgrades to the Pro-Race series were made. The pedals’ pivot points have been
redesigned to deliver smooth operation and eliminate side to side movement. Extra mounting
points have been added plus additional strength to the body and pedals.
Pedals have been tested to 250 kgs linear force and 200kg side force.

Pedal Boxes
The Track-Pro rally and race car pedal box has an adjustable bias system. The innovative,
easy to install design uses the cars original floor pan to mount the pedal box. No welding or
cutting is required to fit this unit once sufficient fixing points have been installed.
All Track-Pro pedal boxes are 5:1 Ratio.

The 5.5:1 pedal ratio, floor mounted, cockpit fit pedal system allows an
incredibly easy installation. The pedal box fits to the floor pan and the
cylinders are mounted under the drivers feet for optimum space utilisation and

The obp Servo Replacement Brake Pedal Unit replaces the Servo system and bolts
into the same locating holes.
The existing factory fitted brake pedal is used and is attached to the obp Brake
System via the adjustable attaching rod supplied with the kit.

The Mini pedal box has been developed with Mini specialists to create a hi-performance system that is easy to fit.
The pedal box is a total replacement unit which locates the master cylinders within the cockpit of the car.
The solution is light weight but durable and is fitted with oil impregnated spherical bushes for smooth operation.
The new improved pedal set up gives a ratio of 5.5:1 and the obp bias bar with dual master
cylinder provides total control over the braking from front to rear.

Pro-Race Fly By Wire/Drive By Wire Pedal Solutions
The Pro-Race range is a universal pedal solution suitable for most race applications.
The pedals’ pivot points have been redesigned to deliver smooth operation and eliminate
side to side movement. Extra mounting points have been added plus
additional strength to the body and pedals.
Pedals have been tested to 250 kgs linear force and 200kg side force.
The full range of Pro-Race 3 Pedal Boxes are now available with Drive by Wire throttle. Available with
either a Single Way Signal or a Dual Way Signal Potentiometer, the Pro-Race Drive by Wire Solutions
are suitable for either vehicles that have been converted to the electronic accelerator
or as a relacement bias box for cars that come with it as standard. An upgraded
spring also gives you a realistic and responsive feel.

Subaru Fly By Wire/Drive By Wire Pedal Solution
This pedal box solution is designed specifically for Japanese performance cars and is perfect for drifting, rally,
time attack and track days.The 5.5:1 pedal ratio, floor mounted, cockpit fit pedal system allows an incredibly
easy installation. The pedal box fits to the floor pan and the cylinders are mounted under the drivers feet for
optimum space utilisation and access. To complete the system, order OBP0339 driver foot/heel plate.
We have now developed our Subaru specific pedal box to suit the standard Drive by Wire system used by Subaru.
The innovative design enables the Drive by Wire unit to be secured to our bias pedal box with ease. Utilising the
original system used for the electronic throttle means that no other changes are needed.

Single Master Cylinder Hydraulic Handbrakes
obp Motorsport has a wide range of lockable and non-lockable hydraulic handbrakes
for drifting, rally and autocross.
The hydraulic system is fitted in addition to the original cable handbrake and is used to drift
or turn the car where there’s not enough wheel lock for tight turns.
obp have developed an adjustable lockable lever for the Hydraulic Handbrake. The lever provides a
temporary park brake allowing the brake to be locked when stopping at time checkpoints.
It is NOT intended to be used as a permanent park brake.

Hydraulic Handbrakes
Twin Master Cylinder Hydraulic Handbrakes
Using a Twin Master Cylinder system enables you to have control over the rear brakes
independently, allowing you to keep the safety element of your car brake system.
Drifting and Rally driving requires extensive use of the handbrake, which can show weaknesses in standard cable
type handbrakes. The hydraulic system connects into the brake line that runs to the rear callipers
and requires a lot less force to completely lock both rear wheels when needed.
A hydraulic handbrake is used by drivers to lock up or break loose the rear wheels when they want to Drift the car
sideways or spin on the spot. Rally drivers regularly need to spin 180 degrees, or need to turn very hard left or right
and there’s not enough wheel lock to achieve this.

This fantastic unit has an Aluminium Handle and an Aluminium Cylinder Box.
The obp handbrake is approx 150g lighter than other Alloy
handbrakes and over 200g lighter than the Mild Steel type.
The Alloy handbrake is manufactured out of Aircraft grade Aluminium with a Super Grip rubber handle.
The handle pivots on oil impregnated bronze bearings that gives a good balance between weight, strength, wear
resistance and durability in operation.

Alloy Water Swirl Pots
It is standard race car practice to use a swirl pot in the cooling system. If hot spots
in the engine cause localised boiling of the water, small pockets of air will form.
Air in the water will reduce heat transfer in the cooling system.
The swirl pot will spin the water around inside it,
allowing the air to rise and be released.

Alloy Fuel Tanks - Race Car
obp Motorsport alloy fuel tanks are precision made for competition or road car use. The tanks are
made with in built baffles or filled with a baffle foam to help prevent fuel surge and suppress explosions.
The fuel filler has an internal diameter of 40mm and has a knurled screw on cap with a seal. Filler neck splash trays
and sight gauges are fitted where appropriate. Standard fuel outlets are 10mm outside diameter
and the sight gauge outlets are 10mm outside diameter. Tanks can be made with other size
outlets or with additional fittings for a swirl pot return. Contact obp Motorsport to discuss your specific designs.

Fuel Sender
This is a universal Kit Car / Locost 6-Hole Top Mount Bolt-on Fuel Sender. The arm can
be shortened to suit any fuel tank. The sensor is calibrated to provide an electrical
resistance of 260 Ohms at empty and 20 Ohms at full.

The multi-hole height/angle adjustment pattern of obp brackets have been optimised to
allow up to 21° of inclination, allowing for practically any height/angle mounting
combination. The contours of the brackets have been designed so as not to interfere with

How to Set Up the Bias Bar
The balance bar is an adjustable lever that pivots on a spherical bearing and uses two separate master cylinders for the front
and rear brakes. The obp balance bar is part of a pedal assembly
that also provides a mounting for the master cylinders. When the
balance bar is centred, it pushes equally on both master cylinders creating equal pressure, given that the master cylinders are
the same size bore. When adjusted as far as possible toward one
master cylinder it will push approximately twice as hard on that
cylinder as the other.
To set up the balance bar, thread the master cylinder push rods
through their respective clevises to obtain the desired position.
Threading one push rod into its respective clevis means threading
the other one out the same amount. Sometimes this will lead to
a “cocked” balance bar when the pedal is in the relaxed position.
This is acceptable as long as each master cylinder push rod is
completely free of pressure when the pedal is relaxed.
Balance bar lever adjustment. Note: The push rod adjustment
depicted in the figure is representative of a typical asphalt application. That is, large calliper pistons in front, small calliper pistons
in the rear. It is important that the operation of the balance bar
functions without interference by over adjustment. This can occur
when a clevis jams against the side of the pedal or the lever (bolt)
hits the pedal bore during any point of pedal travel.
Balance Bar Lever Interference
Lever movement should be unimpeded throughout pedal travel.
In the neutral position, clevises should have between 1mm to 2mm
total clearance between the side of the pedal bias tube and the
bias bar clevises. Make sure that the master cylinder push rods
remain true in relationship to the cylinder during entire pedal travel
the push rods should not be pushing master cylinder pistons at an
angle.
NOTE: In its non-depressed position, the pedal and balance bar
should allow the push rod of the master cylinders to fully return.
This can be checked by feeling push rods for very slight movement, not loose movement.
SETTING UP THE BALANCE BAR
The balance bar is one of the most overlooked, and least understood, components on almost any race car. As with all aspects of
race car assembly and preparation, careful attention to the geometry of the balance bar and brake pedal will yield great benefits.
To start, we need to look at the proper installation of the bias bar
adjuster.
Hydraulic Handbrake Fitting Instructions
Firstly fully remove your cars original mechanical handbrake system if fitted (Unless The Car Requires an MOT, just the Hydraulic
Handbrake will not pass the MOT).
Mounting the obp System
When mounting your hydraulic handbrake you will find that
where most manufacture mount their standard handbrake will be
doubled skinned and the strongest place for you to mount your
obp system, this is especially important if your hand brake is going
to be used in the course of competition, i.e. drifting, rallying and
using the handbrake round hairpins etc. Any flexing from mounting the handbrake on single skin or a flexible surface will mean
your system will not work to its best capabilities. If the handbrake
is only to be used to hold the car i.e. on the start line of a race or
whilst loading the car then mounting on a single skin is fine.
Plumbing in the obp System
When connecting the brake lines to the cylinder on the handbrake system you need to fit it in the brake lines running from the
brake master cylinder to the rear callipers.
If you car has dual rear brake lines then you need one of obp twin
cylinder systems, the fitting of these is the same as for a single
lined system.
If the system has a cross over system then a full brake pipe work
overhaul may be required. Please look at the manufacturers schematics for the car you are fitting the Hydraulic Handbrake in. This
will help you see if the standard system has any one way valves
fitted etc.
Now plumb your brake lines as follows – the brake line should
now run from the main brake master cylinder into the rear fitting
of the handbrake cylinder (normally the flat fitting and normally
7/16” UNF thread). The brake line then runs from the front fitting
on the cylinder (normally at 45° to the cylinder body and normally
3/8” UNF).
On dual systems the fitting is the same as on a single line only
each cylinder is for each separate line.
Bleeding the brakes and using Your New obp System
Bleeding your brakes with a hydraulic handbrake is no different
from bleeding your system before you fitted the system as the
cylinder does is store fluid to allow the rear brakes to fully operate
independent of the front brakes.
Also please note the two following important notes regarding replacing your standard mechanical system with a hydraulic handbrake and its intended use:
· Hydraulic handbrake systems are not designed to be used
as a permanent ‘parking’ brake, even the lockable systems, and
a hydraulic handbrake will slowly loose pressure over a period of
time so if a vehicle is parked using the hydraulic handbrake as a
‘parking’ brake it is possible that car will move.
· The fitting of a hydraulic handbrake and removal of a mechanical system is only designed for circuit/rally cars. The removal
of a mechanical system will also cause you car to fail a MOT.

Policy
It is Optimum Balance Products Ltd (obp Motorsports) policy to treat our customers in exactly the way we like
to be treated ourselves. We do not like small print, but it appears that not only to add to our creditability, but to
comply with new legislation (EC Distance Selling Directive) we are required to offer you our own ‘large print’
version. You should note that your statutory rights under the current consumer protection laws are not affected
(more probably enhanced).
Data & Privacy
The information collected from you at the time you place an order (for yourself or as a gift to someone else) will
be stored in our database and used purely to carry out your instructions, action your payment and keep you up
to date on any new products or special offers. There are no circumstances under which this information might
be passed to a third party.
Supply
We undertake to supply you with the goods described in our catalogue within 5-10 working days, provided the
order is placed before 2pm. In the event of this product being out of stock, there may be a delay. If you have an
urgent order it is always advisable to discuss your requirement on the telephone (on 01487 812 301). Many of
our products are nearly always available for immediate despatch.
Refunds
Our products are extremely well packaged in order to withstand the delivery process. We ask that you inspect
your items immediately upon receipt and inform us immediately of any damage. Failure to do so may mean we
will be unable to replace your order. We will endeavour to replace goods (to the exact specification of the original
order) damaged in transit at your earliest convenience. Again you should note that your statutory rights under
the current consumer protection laws are not affected.

We will only contact you in connection with your instructions and keep you well informed should we have any
difficulties providing you with the specific goods ordered, to be delivered by your date specified.
Upon successful transaction you will receive an email containing confirmation of your order, along with details
of products ordered. You must check all details of your confirmation email are correct as soon as possible
and should print out and keep a copy for your records. This confirmation e-mail amounts to an acceptance by
Optimum Balance Products of your offer to buy goods from Optimum Balance Products and this acceptance is
effective regardless of whether or not you receive the e-mail.
Delivery
We do rely on a third party carrier service to perform the completion of our ‘contract’. We monitor the performance
of our carriers continuously. There may be an occasion when due to circumstances entirely beyond our control
our goods have not arrived within the projected time frame. Please note we cannot bear responsibility for such
circumstances but we will endeavour to rectify the situation.
In the light of the forgoing you will appreciate we feel confident that we can unequivocally guarantee
your total satisfaction with our products and service. Please note that all measurements given are
approximate.
Returns
In the event of dissatisfaction with a product, the item must be returned within 7 days of receipt in its original
packaging. Please note that you are responsible for the item(s) and packaging until it is received by us. Optimum
Balance Products withhold the right to refund if the goods are returned damaged due to insufficient packaging.
We are happy to assist with the arrangement of returned goods where possible. Please note the customer is
responsible for the cost of returning goods.

are installed and used. Purchasers and Optimum Balance Products Ltd consciously desire to make their own
bargain, irrespective of any court decision and purchasers agree upon good faith and in consideration for being
