Who is PGT Trucking? PGT Trucking Inc. is a full-service asset based flatbed transportation firm offering private fleet, international, and specialized hauling services. PGT operates in excess of 800 drivers and has a corporate staff of over 300 at its headquarters in Monaca, PA. Other corporate locations include 29 truck terminals strategically located throughout the US and Mexico. At PGT Trucking, Inc., safety is everyone’s job – all the time. Trucking Industry News Diesel prices are expected to rise to $4.21 per gallon this summer according to the Energy Information Administration's Short Term Outlook. Last summer it averaged $3.94 per gallon. Driver Shortage: By next year, the US Department of Transportation predicts the driver shortage is expected to hit 200,000, and increasing to nearly two million by 2018. Roads: The Department of Transportation's Conditions and Performance biennial report to Congress projects that $101 billion, plus increases for inflation, would be needed annually over the next 20 years from all levels of government local, state and federal - to keep the highway system in its current state. Delivers graphical satelliteimages and hybrid maps of incident locations with its GPS fleet tracking capability. 3 PGT TRUCKING Customer Newsletter May 2012 PGT Terminal Spotlight: Birmingham, AL Birmingham is the largest city in Alabama with a population of over 250,000 people. From Birmingham's early days, the steel industry has always played a crucial role in their local economy. Birmingham is often referred to as the Pittsburgh of the South. Steel production and processing continue to play a key role in the Birmingham economy. Several of the nation's largest steelmakers, including CMC Steel, U.S. Steel, McWane, and Nucor, all have a major presence in Birmingham. In recent years, local steel companies have announced about $100 million worth of investment in expansions and new plants in and around Birmingham. Recognizing Birmingham as a key strategic location, PGT Trucking opened a terminal there. The Birmingham facility operates 60 trucks, which travel to as far west as Eastern Texas and services several cities east of the Mississippi River. The Birmingham Terminal is a full service facility with amenities such as a driver lounge, a maintenance facility, a fully equipped road service truck, a convenient location to our customers and a safety and training facility on site for our drivers. Our operations team includes Rich Zuckett, Terminal Manager, who brings over 20 years experience in the flatbed industry, Adam Stults in customer service, Andrew Nichols is the fleet manager, Rob Bozek oversees safety and traning, Doug Hayes is the shop supervisor, Don Keenon and James Karocha are the shop technicians.
