N O R T H B O U N D Q U A R T E T Veteran italian tenor and soprano saxophonist Emanuele Cisi leads this new international project. The band displays few outsanding players on the today's european Jazz scene, with the distinctive "pianoless" line-‐up givin' an original and fresh sound. Saxophone and trombone free conversations are backed by dancing and creative swing provided by bass and drums, and interplay and joy are benchmarks of their performances. Original compositions or standards re-‐interpretations allows the quartet to show the love and respect for Jazz history, and desire of adventure as well. Emanuele Cisi Born in Torino, Italy, in 1964, self-‐taught musician, he's one of the most representative voices in the european Jazz scene. His unique tone, along with a deep knowledge of the tradition mixed with a personal taste for composition, are became a landmark for Jazz lovers. He recorded 8 cd's as a leader (the last one "The Age of Numbers" for Auand Rec., 2009), and more than 50 as a co-‐leader or sideman. During his career, he played and recorded with many great artists like Clark Terry, Jimmy Cobb, Albert Tootie Heat, Walter Booker, Joe Chambers, Ron Carter, George Cables, Nat Adderley, Jack McDuff, Jimmy Owens, Billy Hart, Cameron Brown, Billy Cobham, Joey Calderazzo, Kenny Wheleer, Enrico Pierannunzi, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu and many many others. He has toured in Europe, U.S., China, Oceania, Chili. In summer 2009 he moved for a period of 4 months to Washington, DC, where he played with several musicians of the area. Recently he recorded and toured as a Jazz soloist with the baroque ensemble "La Venexiana", consisered as a world preminent interpreters of Monteverdi's music. Humberto Amesquita Born in Lima, Peru, in 1985, Humberto started to play the trombone at the age of thirteen. Within two years he was already gaining professional experience on the bandstand. In 2002 he became a member of the "Orquesta Juvenil de Musica Nueva", which went on to tour Europe the following year, recording an album for Radio France under the direction of Didier Lockwood. Humberto then enrolled at the Conservatorium Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, Italy, where he studied with Andrea Maccagnan. In 2008 he took part in the "International Jazz Program" in Siena, where he had the opportunity to study with some of the most highly regarded jazz musicians from America and Italy. He has also participated in workshops and private lessons with most of the elite trombonists in the world today: Robin Eubanks, Adrian Mears, Slide Hampton, Steve Turre, Steve Davis, Wycliffe Gordon,Gianluca Petrella , Roberto Rossi and Bill Watrous. Still only in his mid-‐twenties, Humberto has gone on to carve out an illustrious career of his own, having held stage at some of the most important international festivals, such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Lima Jazz Festival, Jazz in Ascona, Padova Jazz, Break in Jazz, Teano Jazz Festival, Dolomiti Ski Jazz Festival, Vittoria Jazz festival, among many others. Since 2008 he has participated in various jazz contests. In 2013, Humberto was placed among the "Top Ten Non-‐Italian Trombonists" by the readers of JAZZIT magazine. In his career to date, Humberto has played and/or recorded with some of the biggest names in Italian jazz, such as Gianni Cazzola, Guido Manusardi, Gegè Munari, Giorgio Rosciglione, Enrico Intra, Roberto Rossi, Luigi Bonafede, Giovanni Mazzarino, Marco Vaggi, Enzo Zirilli, Giovanni Falzone, Aldo Zunino, Emilio Soana, Vincenzo Florio, Francesco Puglisi, Tony Arco, Giulio Visibelli, Lucio Terzano, Civica Jazz Band, Torino Jazz Orchestra, and the Montecarlo Nights Orchestra. He has also collaborated with various big bands, accompanying guest soloists such as Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Tullio de Piscopo, Franco Cerri, Dino Piana, Antonio Faraò, Rosario Giuliani and many others. Francesco Angiuli Born in Monopoli (in the south of Italy), he started playing music at the age five, taking oboe, piano and finally bass. He started to play rock, jazz, pop and eletronic music very early with differents local bands; at the same time he was focusing on his classical studies of piano and double bass. Graduated in classical double bass (10/10) at "Conservatorio di Monopoli" with Maestro Michele Cellaro and in electric bass at "Università della Musica" & "Percento Musica" (Roma). BlueArt di R. He got graduated in 2009 (9,50/10 cum laude). He also studied with: John Patitucci, Eddie Gomez, Alain Caron, Harvey Swartz, Franco Petracchi, Ermanno Ferrari, Bruno Tommaso, Dave Liebman, Gene Jackson, Massimo Moriconi, Marco Siniscalco, Alex Milo, Paolo Ghetti, Gianfranco Gullotto. He won several musical prizes, like the prestigious "Baronissi Jazz 2001" (1th place), and others. He played in: Italy, Holland, Belgium, France, Denmark, Slovenia, England, Switzerland, Bosnia, Hercegovina, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Lithuania, Ethiopia, Poland, Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Serbia, Montenegro. He’s also dedicating part of his musical life on teaching. He's constantly touring all over with his own "workshop program". He has been teaching in several International Accademies, among others in Italy, Holland, Poland, Ethiopia, Lithuania. Sebastiaan De Krom Drummer Sebastiaan de Krom ws born on February 6, 1971 in Dordrecht (the Netherlands). He started playing drums at very early age with encouragement from his father who was an amateur Jazz-‐drummer. While in high-‐school, Sebastiaan formed his first band and started to perform the percussion duties in the high-‐school orchestra. in 1988 Sebastiaan moved with his parents to Brussels (belgium) where he graduated from high-‐school in 1990. In 1991 he formed a sextet that after a few mouths of its existence won the third place at the European Jazz Contest in Hoeilart (Belgum). BlueArt di R. Moreno - Viale E. While at Berklee, Sebastiaan performed with Wynton Marsalis, John Scofield, Joe Zawinul, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Tiger Okoshi, John Abercrombie, Steve Kahn, Abraham Laboriel, Tim Hagans, Jim Snidero, Bill PiInerce, Gary Burton, George Garzone, Hal Crook & Herb Pomeroy. During this same period he made his first tour (in Japan) with Richard Davis & auditoned for Betty Carter. In 1995 he won the Buddy Rich Award. Sebastiaan graduated cum laude in 1997 with a dual degree in Music Business & Management and Music Production & Engineering. That same year he also won the Thelonous Monk Institute Performance Program which allowed him to study for a masters degree at the New England Conservatory in Boston and to perform with well-‐known jazz-‐musicians, while performing in an exclusive "all-‐star" sextet made up of only 6 winners world-‐wide. His mentor/coach became Ron Carter, who also played with Clark Terry, Jon Faddis, Jimmy Owens, Bob Brookmeyer, Curtis Fuller, Jackie McLean, Phil Woods, Benny Golson, James Williams, Dave Holland, Eddie Henderson, Joe Locke, Ricky Ford & Charlie Persip (who also was his drum-‐teacher). In 1998 Sebastiaan went on tour to South America in order to perform with Erbie Hancock. The same year he went on the last tour of Gene Harris. In 1999 Sebastiaan got his masters degree in Jazz Studies. In 2000 he got a call fro British trumpeter Guy Barker to join his Intenational Quintet and to perform on the soundtrack of the movie "The Talented Mr.Ripley". In the same year he joied the Tommy Smith Quartet and started to perform regularly with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra. In 2001 he also joined Tim Garland's Dean Street Underground Orchestra, recorded an album featuring Mulgrew Miller, started to play regularly with Philip Catherine, played with Curtis Stingers, did several tours and got commissioned to compose and arrange a big band piece as part of the Edimburg-‐Suite. Sebastiaan regularly palys in England in jazz-‐clubs like the Pizza Express Jazz Club and Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London.
