EVENT REGISTRATION
Teams: Opening Ceremonies start on Thursday, July 28th at 9:30am.
Registration for Men’s & Women’s Doubles and Mixed Triples should be done at the
Championship Registration Center on any day. Check the Registration hours for exact times.
Registration closes 30 minutes before each of the events start. Only members that have
competed in the team event during the 2016 National Championship are eligible for the Doubles
and Mixed Triples events.
Wednesday’s Warm Up Cricket Events and all Open Draw Doubles events are open to ALL
current 2016 paid ADA members. Register for the event(s) at the Championship Registration
Center. You can sign up to be an ADA Member or renew your membership at the National
Championship Registration / Pay out center.
Crossing Dart Types and Formats at the National Championship
Example: Soft Tip to Steel Tip or Steel Tip to Soft Tip providing you have a current updated
PPDA in each dart type. Example: Neutralizer events to Open events or Open to Neutralizer
providing you have a PPDA in the Nationals Tournament Software or ADA Server. For
Neutralizer, members must have 20 301 scores in their member profile.
1) You have the option after you compete in the preregistration team and singles events to
cross over into another dart type for Saturday & Sunday’s events.
2) You also have a choice to cross over with the dart format.
Please NOTE:
1) When you cross over out of your original pre-register dart type and/or dart format
you will forfeit all Most Valuable Member Points in those events that you cross into.
2) It is up to you to go to the Registration/Control Desk and have your name moved into the
changed dart type or dart format and it is up to you to be responsible to switch it back.
Remember you must have a PPDA in the Nationals Tournament Software to be able to go
from Open to Neutralizer (soft and steel).
EVENT COMPETITION
The ADA Championship and Radikal software is designed to make the National Championship
more effective and efficient. These systems eliminate the time consuming element of writing
during registration. ADA personnel simply “swipe” your ADA membership card entering you
into the events. When registration closes, entries are then transferred electronically to the
Control Center. The software randomly places members onto the competition bracket. The
competition bracket is then downloaded into the Radikal software. A dartboard is assigned and
your match card is printed.
The event bracket is displayed at the “Leader Board Area” and through every Radikal Soft Tip
Dart machine in the Competition Room indicating the match and board assignment. For some
events, match cards will be available on a table by the Control Center for each round. For the
events that do not have match cards, those matches will be loaded into the Radikal Soft Tip Dart
Machines. Members are responsible for finding their board assignments at the Leader Board
area, a Radikal Dart Machine and/or their Radikal mobile app.
5
For more information on the Radikal mobile app please click here:
http://eng.radikalplayers.com/noticias/3324/new-radikal-darts-app.html Members then
proceed to the match. Should the opposing team/member not arrive after five (5) minutes, take
the score card (when available) to the Control Center and the Championship Director will make
a 2nd warning call. If the opposing team still has not arrived, notify the Control Center and the
Championship Director will make a third and final call after another five (5) minutes has passed.
If it goes a third and final call, the team/member then forfeits their turn and the winner
advances to the next round.
Each match card contains bar codes (when available), the board assignment, bracket position
and pay out indications. Upon completion of the match, simply circle the winner’s name and
return it to the Control Center. DO NOT interfere with the bar code.
To keep events on time please return match cards (when available) to the Control Center
immediately following the completion of the match.
For selected Neutralizer events and Open events, there will also be a score card and MPR sheet
with the match card. _01 starting scores, points remaining, MPR and total darts MUST be
recorded on the score card and returned with the match card to the Control Center at the
conclusion of the match.
ADA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RULES
ADA Championship competition will follow the basic rules as outlined in the ADA League Rules
Manual used in the American Dart League. Exceptions or additional rules are listed below.
STARTING RULES FOR ALL EVENTS
To determine who throws first for the bulls-eye in ALL events, toss a coin. The winner of the
toss is the “home team” (or singles player #1) and throws first for the bulls-eye in the odd
numbered games. The loser of the toss throws first for the bulls-eye in the even numbered
games. In each game, the closest dart to the bulls-eye starts the game.
a. Soft Tip Darts – count the holes to determine who is closest to the center. In the
event of a tie, re-throw with the darts remaining in the board, reverse throwing
order. A dart is pulled only when it hits the very center hole.
b. Steel Tip Darts – a double bulls-eye defeat a single bulls-eye. The member second
can request a dart to be removed from the bulls-eye only (single or double). In the
event of a tie, remove the darts and re-throw until the tie is broke, reverse throwing
order.
GENERAL RULES
1. All ADA members/teams shall abide by these Championship Rules and, where necessary,
any supplemental rules established by ADA personnel.
2. Only approved ADA team members are eligible to compete in the National
Championship Team, Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Triples events. Non-team ADA
members are eligible to compete in the nightly Open Draw Doubles, “Warm-Up Cricket
Singles, and Bud Mini’s events only.
3. Every member listed on the ADA approved team roster MUST play in the first round of
play for the team events. No team will be allowed to play with less than the minimum
required members; four (4) members minimum for Team event and three (3) members
for the Express event.
6
4. Any member/team, who during the course of any event, fails to comply with any of
these Championship Rules, may be subject to disqualification from any and all remaining
events including possible forfeit of entry fees.
5. Good sportsmanship conduct shall be the prevailing attitude throughout the
championship to all attendees and guest.
6. Protests – ALL matches must be completed in a sportsmanlike manner regardless of the
alleged violation. To file a protest, request an “Official Protest Form” at the Control
Center. Complete the form and submit with a $100.00 filing fee that is refundable if the
protest is granted. You will be contacted before the Championship ends if further action
will be taken. Your protest will follow the member/team throughout the championship.
The “Protest Committee” will review your protest.
7. Skill Level Review – matches cannot be protested for issues regarding members PPDA’s.
For ALL Skill Level concerns, request a “Skill Level Review Form” at the Control Center.
The member’s PPDA will then be reviewed by the official “Skill Level Review Committee”
on staff at that time. This committee will then take action as needed including future
reviews and adjustments to PPDA’s.
8. Once a member/team is assigned a match, competition must begin within 10 minutes.
Should a member/team fail to report to the assigned board with the 10 minute allotted
time, a 2nd & 3rd call will be announced. Each member is allowed a nine-dart warm-up.
9. Upon completion of each match, both team captains must sign the match / score sheet,
circle the winner, and return the match sheet immediately to the Control Center for
processing.
10. Only members involved in the match are allowed inside the playing area.
11. The minimum throwing distance shall be 7’-9 ¼” from the surface of the dartboard to
the front of the throw line. The maximum throwing distance is 8’-0”.
12. All Team Event matches will be played out to their entirety (race to 7). Teams will be
monitored, excessive breaks and stalling will not be tolerated. If a team is taking
advantage of this, they will be disqualified and eliminated from the competition.
13. It is permissible for a doubles or triples team to participate while missing a player
provided the team forfeits that turn in the throwing rotation. The missing member may
join a game in progress provided they join in the proper sequence.
14. Coaching by team members and spectators is allowed but be considerate to other
members in matches being played on boards/matches nearby.
15. All prize money MUST be collected from registration/payout center prior to the
conclusion of the National Championship. Uncollected prized money will be forfeited
and will not be forwarded to any members. Please make certain to watch your match
sheets for your place in the event bracket/payout and stop by the registration/payout
center frequently to check for unclaimed prize money.
16. Official Eligibility Rules featured on the ADA website also remain intact:
http://www.adadarters.com/2016-ada-nc-official-eligibility-rules-2/
Important Note: In consideration of this entry being accepted and while attending this event, I
hereby for myself, my heirs, executor's, administrators, and assigns, waive and release any and
all rights and claims for damages I may have against the ADA, ADL staff, successors, sponsors
and assignees, for any and all injuries arising out of my participation in the said athletic event. I
further state that I am in proper physical condition to complete this event.
