It all began in 1978 when George Boudreau approached Tom Convery to start a Mustang Hall of Fame. Most recently during th the planning for the 100 Medford versus Malden Football Game, the idea was again advanced, this time by John Stabile In January 1988, Tom Convery invited a group of individuals who represent a cross section of the community to serve as the Charter Committee for the Hall of Fame. With their enthusiastic ascent the project was launched Throughout the organizing process, Convery stressed that the selection process should remain steadfast to the rule that the candidates for induction into the Hall of Fame be evaluated on what they did in sports while at Medford High School exclusively. Accomplishments in sports while at college or at the professional level were to have no bearing on the selection committee’s deliberations Mustang Hall of Fame Will add Mustang Hall of Famer and Charter Member 1988 Bill Monbouquette To its Honor Roll for the 50th year anniversary of his no-hitter against the Chicago White Sox and his contributions to the Mustang Hall of Fame.
