New Cancerfit an exercise program for cancer survivors Cancerfit is a program designed by the Cancer Fitness Institute dedicated to providing cancer survivors and those who are currently in treatment with affordable and empowering exercise programs in a healthy, positive, nonintimidating environment. Fitness Assessment - Your fitness assessment will be held at the Northglenn Recreation Center before you can begin attending class. Your exercise physiologist will call you to schedule a time. Fee: $260 for a six-month membership. Participants are both men and women who have survived every type of cancer. Exercise physiologists with a cancer specialty oversee all aspects of the exercise regimen, which aids in recovery and general fitness during and after treatment. The fitness program includes flexibility, cardiovascular, and strength training. How does exercise benefit cancer survivors? Fitness Strength in Women Ages 16 and older This class offers women and young ladies the opportunity to work-out in a safe environment. Your instructor will help you feel more confident in the fitness center. You will learn how to properly set up the equipment, use free weights, and follow a fitness program. Racquetball/ Walleyball Walleyball is a fun and fast-paced game similar to volleyball, but played on a racquetball court! Teams of two to six players keep the ball in play by hitting it off the walls or directly over the net. Information and rules of play are available at the front counter. Racquetball is a rapid, aerobic activity that will keep you fit. Northglenn residents can make court reservations two days in advance.
