Bread Basket Deli Branding Process Book Competitive Audit One of the competitors for the Breadbasket deli is Schlotzky’s bakery café. They have been in business since 1971 that is over 40 years. That speaks for itself; being in business that many years proves the food has to be delicious. The Schlotzky’s bakery café is currently in 36 states and 3 foreign countries, unlike breadbasket, that has a presence in only 10 locations. The Schlotzky’s bakery has designs in the store and online that are circle-themed and the colors are vibrant red, yellow, and blue. Have set color schemes are important in creating a brand that last. People should be able to locate it easily and no it is coming up when driving by those colors. The second competitor to breadbasket deli is Jason’s deli. They have been in business since 1976 and they go buy three concepts: people, food, and choice. By this, they explain they treat employees as family and empower them. The food is advertised as being fresh and natural ingredients and a salad bar with organic options. They also offer a gluten-free and vegetarian sandwich. Knowing this, makes their target audience reach more of a healthy audience. They deliver and cater. They use a burnt orange and yellow trim. The third competitor to the breadbasket deli, is Firehouse Subs. While Firehouse Subs may not have started in the 70s like the other two competitors, they did begin in 1992. The concept they have is all about firefighters. Sandwiches are meaty and large as if to fee a big firefighter. The décor in the restaurants are firefighting equipment, and Dalmatian-patterned tabletops. They make the place have a relaxed feel. The owners are in the community working on a nonprofit called Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. This foundation is committed to the improvements of life-saving capabilities of first responders. The colors are red background, white font, and yellow border. Bread Basket Deli Branding Process Book Creative Brief What is the project title? The Bread Basket Deli Re-Brand What is the challenge? Re-branding the Bread Basket Deli, will allow for more customers to become familiar with their presence and want to visit their locations to make purchases. Who comprises the key audience? The key audience will be business catering and regular consumers of all ages. What is our understanding? At this time, only people in the local area of Bread Basket Delis are aware of its presence. This is because they have not done much social medial advertising. This means being involved in the community and tying it how their product will fill a need. How did we arrive at this realization? Checking the company on FaceBook shows unappetizing foods. They could spend more time in the creative delivery. What is the brand essence? The brand will still revolve around their delicious sandwiches but will have more of an updated look and feel. What is our strategy? The color schemes will be warm and inviting. The website needs to re-designed so it is clean and crisp. What should our execution be? To create an updated branding logo and incorporate this into marketing to include letterhead, postcards, business cards and to improve social media presence for online such as FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter, and GooglePlus.
