CaroMont Care Advocates A Community-Based Patient Advisory Council Find out how we care. 2015 CaroMont Care Advocates This is how we care. CaroMont Care Advocates Council Purpose: CaroMont Care Advocates Council is a diverse group of patients, family, and community members who meet regularly to advise CaroMont Health on how we can provide better patient-centered care and fulfill our mission to provide exceptional health care to the communities we serve. Our Goals are: To identify specific opportunities for practice improvement, patient access, and health of the community. To help integrate CaroMont Health into the local community. To provide supportive channels of communication between families and all CaroMont Health entities. To provide input and feedback on delivery of services for patients and their families. To provide input regarding new and existing program development. To promote an environment offering excellent and safe healthcare through collaboration of families and staff. CaroMont Care Advocates This is how we care. “Serving on the Council has been worthwhile. It’s awesome to know that your opinions and input are being heard. Positive changes are implemented based upon the input we provide.” - Donyel Barber “I have seen CaroMont improve over the past three years. Keep up the good work!” - Michael Meeks, Sr. “Serving on the CaroMont Care Advocates Council has been both educating and rewarding. Not only is CaroMont Gaston County’s amazing health institution, but it also is a pivotal player in growth and development in the area. As a member of CCA, I feel like my opinion matters and that hospital administration and doctors make us a priority in long-term planning, patient care and even facility design and development. Plus, it has given me the opportunity to serve on other hospital boards as well, allowing me to get to know doctors and staff.” - May Barger “Having the opportunity to participate in the CCA has given me a better understanding of the commitment of CaroMont Health and CaroMont Regional Medical Center to this community. I have been able to speak with friends and members of the community to give the correct information about many aspects of the healthcare being provided and why things are done the way they are.” - Carolyn Niemeyer “Serving as chairman of the CCA Committee has given me the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with CaroMont Executive Administration. In these interactions, I found the Administration’s focus to be on providing quality care and becoming a Highly Reliable Organization. I feel fortunate to serve on a community based committee whose purpose is to help move CaroMont Health forward in a positive manner.” - Kevin Stewart “As a member of the CCA, I continue to find CaroMont’s leadership striving toward excellence in every area of their services. The leadership’s transparency and honesty with us as community members creates an atmosphere of trust and honest sharing of ideas. Implementation of many of our suggestions fosters a culture of excitement that we are not only able to make a difference, and our voices are heard but also that CaroMont leadership really does care and each one wants to be the best leader that he or she can be individually, as a team, and as a full service provider of medical care in our region. We continue to see how CaroMont is on the leading edge of innovation and advancement in many areas including using a resource like community advisers. I continue to find serving with the CCA enjoyable, educational, fulfilling and challenging that we can have a helpful and positive impact on such a valuable asset to our community.” - David Belle Isle CaroMont Care Advocates Activities New Member Recruitment New Member Orientation Distribution of 2014 Annual Report Voice of the Customer Meeting for the Emergency Department Rapid Improvement Event Presented by the Emergency Department Institutional Review Board (IRB) Representatives Overview and Tour of the Cancer Center The Joint Commission Accreditation Survey Inpatient/Observation Status for Medicare Patients Presentation CaroMont Regional Corporate Quality and Safety Dashboard Presentations Patient and Wayfinding Signage Presentation CCA Webpage Construction Mount Holly Emergency Department Tour PBS Interview about CaroMont and Premier Courtland Terrace Presentation and Tours Emergency Department Pediatric Renovation Presentation Branding Campaign Presentation Performance Improvement Council Representative CaroMont Health and Fitness Center Presentation FaithHealth Gaston Presentation 2016 Planning CaroMont Care Advocates Member List Donyel Barber May Barger David Belle Isle Martha Burris Jake Gray Synthia Kearney Michael Meeks, Sr. Regina Moody Tabetha Nail Carolyn Niemeyer Charlotte Sautner Tony Sissons Heather Stancil Kevin Stewart (Chairperson) Dallas Butler David Rinehart, MD Lesa Roberts Ben Warren CaroMont Health Staff Todd Davis, MD Lacy Hastings Laura Lineberger Andrew Blackman For more information about CaroMont Care Advocates, please contact Laura Lineberger at laura.lineberger@caromonthealth.org Find out how we care. 704.834.2000 | caromonthealth.org
