Structural engineering and working design for construction and civil engineering DESIGNING – OPTIMISING - CALCULATING Presentation document is a Design Consultancy specialised in structural engineering, design, optimisation and the production of working drawings for any structure for the construction industry and civil engineering. With over 28 years experience and a solid reputation in structural engineering and reinforced concrete design, CTE is the partner you need to accompany you from the initial design through to the construction of your project, thanks in particular to our powerful computer resources and our highly qualified, highly motivated personnel. The services we offer include: Assistance for designers Search for optimum economic solutions Preparation of tender documents Static and dynamic analysis Production of all the working drawings for structures Assistance during the construction phase The results of our studies are recorded in working drawings provided to the contractors. Thanks to a team of over 100 employees, including 30 engineers, CTE is able to handle large-scale, highly technical jobs (cf. list of references attached). CTE expands onto the international market 1997: Opening of a subsidiary in Freiburg in Germany 2001: Opening of a subsidiary in Porto Alegre in Brazil 2006: Opening of a subsidiary in Hanoi in Vietnam 2010: Opening of a subsidiary in Warsaw in Poland 2013: Opening of a subsidiary in Lisbon in Portugal 2013: Opening of a subsidiary in Dakar in Senegal Expertise and diagnosis : works in the area of structural diagnosis and expertise as Project Manager (PM) and Project Owner's Assistant (PMA). The market for the refurbishment of existing buildings is developing, and we believe it is important to offer clients technical support that is specific to that area of activity. We can provide all the competencies of the CTE group to the branch, as regards regulatory and legal aspects, and also those relating to the modelling of the buildings studied. Wind power : CTE and wind power : CTE are THE French engineering consultants referenced to design the foundations for onshore wind turbines through on specially created companie. www.cte-wind.com Key figures: Participation in the design of 470 wind farms in France and abroad CTE designed the foundations of the first two most powerful wind turbines in France, at SaintMartin de Besace in the Calvados (output 3 megawatts per wind turbine) 3,650 foundations designed since 2003 Total megawatts: 6 500 International references in Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Ireland, Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, Ethiopia, Mexico, Brazil, Guyana and Vietnam Qualifications / Memberships For several years, CTE has held the OPQIBI certificate of qualification for the following services: 1201 – Design of complex foundations 1202 – Design of ordinary concrete structures 1203 – Design of complex concrete structures 1204 – Design of ordinary metal structures 1209 – Design of structural restoration study 1218 – Ordinary civil engineering and main structures 1219 – Complex civil engineering and main structures Earthquake resistant design: The importance of the engineer taking account of the earthquake risk from the very beginning of the design process and the adoption of appropriate construction principles are two essential elements in any construction project. As a result, and due to its being based in a seismic zone (the South of Alsace), CTE has from the outset specialised in the seismic design and engineering for any type of building. All our engineers are capable of applying the current earthquake resistance rules when calculating the dimensions of the reinforced concrete, steel, timber and mixed parts of a construction, wherever the building is and whatever the seismic zone. Membership of French Earthquake Engineering Association (AFPS) The Association Française du Génie Parasismique or AFPS (French Earthquake Engineering Association) is a non-profit association governed by the Law of 1 July 1901 founded on 14 December 1983 by Jean Despeyroux. Its purpose is the study of earthquakes, their consequences on the ground, buildings and their environment, and research and the promotion of any measures liable to minimise these consequences and protect human life. Winner of the Alsace Innovation prize – 2012 For the Rockmat patent, Designed for the French offshore wind farm Membership of the French Renewable Energies Organisation (SER) Created in 1993, the Syndicat des Énergies Renouvelables is the French renewable energies industry body and groups together members from the following sectors: biomass (France Biomasse Energie), fuel wood, biofuels, marine energies, wind power (France Energie Eolienne), geothermal energy, hydroelectricity, thermal and photovoltaic solar power (SOLER). The SER had 550 members on 1 January 2011, including the largest energy companies and industrial players in France. Banque de France score: The "cotation Banque de France" is a score given by the Bank of France reflecting a company's ability to honour its financial commitments over a three-year period. CTE's score is "G3++" which means that its ability to meet its financial commitments is very high. CTE now has on all its sites, 20 video-conferencing installations with fibre optic links between our different agencies. This system enables our different subsidiaries to communicate with each other in real time, but also to be able to organise meetings with our different clients all over France and also abroad when they also have a video-conferencing system. Fibre Optics VoIP telephones: VoIP, or "Voice over IP" is a technique that allows voice communications via the internet or any other network accepting the TCP/IP protocol. CTE has 50 VoIP terminals spread across all its subsidiaries. These telephones enable our clients to call their different contacts directly in any of our agencies using a local telephone number and for the price of a local call. Our references Wind turbines --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CTE Civil Engineering is the French engineering consultancy referenced for the design of wind turbine foundations. Its know-how, based on the experience gained previously on the German market, means that it is now consulted for wind turbine foundation design projects. A wind power department was set up 2001 to meet the needs of this new market. This department has the know-how to handle the most complex projects. CTE Civil Engineering has participated in the design of 470 wind farms in France and abroad: 3,650 foundations designed since 2003 (6,500 megawatts). CTE Civil Engineering also designed the foundations of the first two most powerful wind turbines in France, at Saint-Martin de Besace in the Calvados (output 3 megawatts per wind turbine) KEY FIGURES: - Participation in the design of over 500 wind farms - 3,750 machines designed since 2003 - 7,000 megawatts
