Loch Lomond Arms Hotel
Loch Lomond Arms Hotel is a beautifully restored
former coaching inn, serving seasonal Scottish
food. Landscaped gardens offer al-fresco dining, or
cosy inside on colder days next to roaring log fires.
Renowned wine expert Matthew Jukes has created
the wine list. The bar also serves hand-pulled craft

The airy interior is decorated with hand-blocked
wallpaper, zinc table-tops, and selected prints from
Scottish artists, available at Luss General Store. An
outside terrace allows guests to enjoy their seafood
in the sunshine, Scottish weather permitting.
Luss Seafood Bar also creates the most delicious
food to go; enjoyed on the pier or on a speedboat,

Using only the finest and freshest fish from a
network of trusted suppliers, each salmon is
individually hand filleted before gentle kiln
smoking in the traditional way for up to 12 hours.
The salmon are then delicately hand sliced and
packaged on the premises – guaranteeing the
ultimate in taste, texture and quality.

Luss Estates
Luss Estates is a thriving, commercially managed
estate, with traditional farming as well as renewable
energy projects, including a 1Mw hydro-electric
scheme. The land spans over 40,000 acres in
the foothills of the Scottish Highlands and
encompasses farmland, bracken-clad hillside,
peatland, wooded glens and river valleys as well
as several of the jewel-like islands scattered on
Loch Lomond.
Luss Estates is a haven for wildlife and is home
to birds of prey, including a nesting pair of golden
eagles and a nesting pair of ospreys, along with
black grouse, otters, pine martin, fallow, roe and
red deer. Guided hill-walking and nature guides

An experienced Game Keeper leads seasonal
stalking, on the hillsides around Luss, and on the
islands of Loch Lomond, and runs driven and
walked up pheasant shoots. Shoot and stalking
lunches can be provided by the Loch Lomond
Arms Hotel, and dog friendly accommodation
is available.

Clan Colquhoun
The lands at Luss Estates have evidence of
Mesolithic hunter-gathers’ encampments, dating
to over 10,000 years ago. Other significant finds
include mysterious ring shaped rock carvings,
Bronze Age burial sites, and Iron Age forts.
Wooded islets on Loch Lomond hold remains
of crannogs, defensive lake dwellings constructed
by the Picts.
Tours can be concluded with a drinks reception
in the Library of the Loch Lomond Arms, which
features portraiture of notable
Colquhoun clansmen.
These lands have been the historic home of the
Clan Colquhoun for over 600 years, and FabuLUSS
Loch Lomond warmly welcomes all clansmen. The
Luss, Loch Lomond Highland Gathering in July
provides an annual gathering for the clan.

The clan's chronicle is chequered, intriguing and
dramatic. A notable event in Scottish clan history
is the bloody battle of Glen Fruin, between the
Colquhouns and the MacGregors, after which the
name of the later was banned by the King for over
one hundred years. A visit to the site is included in
a tour of the clan lands, guided by a knowledgable
clan historian.
