Mollye King
December 9
Mollye was nominated by Mrs. Adcock
for her determination in figuring
something out and not ever giving up
on a problem no matter how hard it is.
Mollye works hard and is always polite.
This is Mollye’s first year at McGregor
Elementary. Mrs. Adcock says Mollye
has brought much joy to her class.
Yahir Benitez
December 16
Yahir was nominated by Mrs. Mullens
because he is a wonderful student. He
always tries his best and he completes
all of his assignments on time. He is
also a very good friend to all of his
classmates and helps them whenever
they need it. Yahir loves reading and
football.
Collin Hamilton
January 7
Collin was nominated by Mrs. Scott
because he is a very hard working
student, he is eager to learn, and he
love to help his teacher and classmates.
Collin always has a smile on his face.
He enjoys playing at recess, working at
centers, and going to karate after
school.

Elementary in memory of his daughter Lisa Williams.

Graduate Comes Home
Class of 2013 graduate Jose Orozco
recently completed the United States Marine
Corps basic training. Upon his return to
McGregor, he returned to McGregor
Elementary to volunteer in Kathy Keith’s
classroom and spend time with his PALs
from his senior year. Jose has also acted as
a pen pal with several students at the
elementary. Thank you, Jose, for your
service to our country and our students!
HS Students Giving Back
Students at MHS recently supported three worthwhile projects. The PALs
continued their tradition of supporting the McGregor Volunteer Fire
Department’s Toys For Tots campaign. The PALS purchased gifts for the
VFD to distribute.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsored a drive to collect gently
used jeans for homeless teenagers across America. Tre’onna Griffin
coordinated the “Jeans for Teens” event. Jeans for Teens is sponsored by
Aeropostale. Students and teachers from all three McGregor campuses
gave to support homeless teens.
Vanessa Lopez-Rivera entered her mixed-media work in the 2014 Heart of
Texas Autism Network’s Mardi Gras Celebration of Art. All donated artwork
will be for sold to benefit the HOTAN Job Coach Adult Internship program.

Christmas carols that had the entire audience applauding and singing.

Before leaving for the Christmas break, students at McGregor Elementary gathered to sing Christmas carols they learned in
music class. Several teachers even shared their musical talents.
COOKIES!
Students in 3rd grade celebrated a successful semester of reading with a cookie
decorating (and eating) party. Students who reached their AR goals were invited to
participate.
