HISTORY
Founded in 1982 by Andy Warhol
and other influential artists,
collectors and patrons, the New
York Academy of Art trains talented,
emerging artists in traditional skills
that serve as powerful tools in the
creation of vital contemporary art.
It is the first and most significant
graduate school in the United States
to focus on the human body.

The New York Academy of Art promotes the
development of each student’s personal vision by building
upon the enduring traditions of figurative painting, drawing
and sculpture.
Its distinguished faculty, visiting critics, lecturers and
master class instructors include renowned artists

The Academy hosts a robust program of lectures, critiques and panel

COLLECTING
Take Home a Nude® is
essential for both the
first-time buyer and the
dedicated collector. One of
New York’s liveliest parties,
it features nearly 200
works of art (not all nudes)
and attracts over 700 avid
collectors annually. During
the live and silent auctions
guests have the chance
to bid on beautiful
paintings, drawings,
photographs and sculptures
by established artists,
academy faculty, alumni
and students.
