It is the first and most significant graduate school in the United States to focus on the human body. Its distinguished faculty, visiting critics, lecturers and master class instructors include renowned artists Eric Fischl, Jenny Saville, Will Cotton and Vincent Desiderio. The Academy hosts a robust program of lectures, critiques and panel discussions, providing access to some of the world’s most prominent visual artists, writers, critics and scholars. Through exposure to artists’ opinions, motivations and working methods, these programs allow students to gain constructive feedback and insight into artmaking. One of New York’s liveliest parties, it features nearly 200 works of art (not all nudes) and attracts over 700 avid collectors annually.
