Pew Packers will be meeting tonight following our evening worship service.
This is always a great time of singing, learning, and laughing for the children of
our congregation.
This Saturday, July 26th we will be having our annual absolutely FREE carwash and
pancake breakfast. This yearly event always proves to be a wonderful opportunity
to serve the community while giving them the opportunity to get to know us better
and enroll in our Bible correspondence course.
Sunday, July 27th, following our evening worship service everyone whose last name begins
with the letter P, Q, R, or S is invited over to Blake and Rebekah Jones’ house for dinner. The
evening is more about fellowship than food and if you can come, they would be honored by your
presence. But if you can’t make it, they completely understand. Directions to the Jones’ are on
the bookcase outside of the church office.
On Saturday, August 2nd, we will be having a parenting
seminar (9 a.m. - 12 p.m.) in the fellowship hall. We
are excited to announce this week that Don and
Rosemary Snodgrass will be with us conducting this
seminar. They will be discussing: What Is Parenting?
Myths About Parenting, Communication & Parenting
Styles, Parenting Roles in Traditional and Non-Traditional Families, and Discipline and Conflict
Management In the Family. You won’t want to miss this informative and encouraging morning!
Don and Rosemary Snodgrass have been married for over 33 years. They have raised three
children, Mary Beth, Luke, and Adam. They have three beautiful granddaughters and are expecting
their fourth granddaughter in October. Don works as an environmental engineer and supervisor for TVA and has served as
an elder for the Sherrod Avenue church of Christ in Florence, AL for over 18 years. He is currently working on a Masters in
Ministry degree from Heritage Christian University. Rosemary received her Masters and Doctorate degrees in counseling
from the University of Alabama. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and serves as the Director for the Alpha Center,
which provides family counseling. Rosemary is also a professor at Heritage Christian University, teaching psychology and
counseling courses.

Larry Naler is collecting donations for
the Atchley family (neighbor of Rita
Phillips) with the loss of their 9 yearold son, Callister, and home in a tragic
fire last month. The family is in need
of help and anything you can do
would be a huge help. We ask that
you continue to
keep Jennifer
Bates and the
Atchley family
in your prayers.
Thank you for
your help.
We rejoice at the news of 15 men being baptized this past Wednesday by Mike Bowdoin and Tony Cleveland
at the county jail! Rainbow, we need to be very thankful for the men and women of our congregation who
are involved with the World Bible School and Prison Ministries. This year alone, 108 souls have been
baptized into Christ through these ministries! That is incredible! If you are looking to be involved in
something here at Rainbow, we encourage you to check out these wonderful works!
This past Thursday, Myself and Jessica took some of our young people to the Georgia Aquarium in
Atlanta. We had a wonderful time and got to see some of God’s amazing creations (including LARGE
creations like the Beluga Whale and Whale Shark!). We also had lunch at The Varsity, the largest drive-in
fast food restaurant in the world! It was wonderful to see and learn about all the different species of fish
and sea animals, but I believe the best part was just getting to spend time with our young people. We
look forward to the next time we get to spend a day together like this! -Dave
Those who went with us: William Birchmore, Clay Mikle, Trey Brinkley, Shelby Sanders, Sarah Cook,
Chloe Cook, Stephanie Spitz-Keener, Christian Hammett, Hannah Edmonson, Dallas Dean, Luke Contris
(Dave’s Nephew), Joseph Wallace, and Jarret Kinder (friend of Joseph).
We recently shared 1000 pictures from the Greater Things
Campaign on our facebook page! If you haven’t had the
opportunity to go and look at
them, take a few minutes to
go and check them out!
Make sure you give our page
a “like” while you are at it!
Each month our Elders take a turn sharing the responsibility of “Elder of the Month”. During that month,
that Elder is the contact person for our flock for any needs that they might have. During the month of July,
David Wallace is the “Elder of the Month” you can reach him at 256-390-2273 (James 5:14)
