building with a greatly expanded
showroom and service facilities was
constructed on the east side of
Yorkton. Today, two generations of
the Haas family are active in the

2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO takes the new GT-R to the next level
The new 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO made its world debut at
the famous Nürburgring race course, known as one of the
longest and most challenging race tracks in the world. This is
also the place where the Nissan GT-R's potent performance
was honed, tuned and developed.
Like the GT-R Premium, the GT-R NISMO's front end features
a freshened face highlighted by an aggressive new fascia. To
help cool the car's high-output engine, the dark chrome "Vmotion" grille has been enlarged to collect more air, without
diminishing the car's aerodynamic performance. A new
significantly reinforced hood avoids deformation at extremely
high speeds, allowing it to keep its aerodynamic shape. Unlike
the standard model, the front bumper of the GT-R NISMO –
crafted with Takumi-like precision – feature layers of carbonfiber sheets carefully overlapped to achieve the ideal amount
of stiffness. The canards have been designed to improve
airflow around the vehicle and generate a high level of
downforce, while at the same time, direct air around the
wheelhouse to enhance aerodynamics. Overall, the car's new
shape generates more downforce than any other Nissan
production car to date, resulting in exceptional high-speed
stability.
The new GT-R NISMO also benefits from the 2017 GT-R's
refreshed interior, whose cabin possesses a more upscale
feel than ever before. The redesigned dashboard and steering
wheel are covered with high-quality Alcantara® suede. The
center stack layout has been improved and simplified, with the
number of integrated navigation and audio controls reduced
from 27 switches in the previous model to only 11 in the 2017
version. An enlarged 8-inch touch-panel monitor featuring
large icons on the display screen make it simple to use, while
a new Display Command control on the carbon fiber center
console allows easy operation without having to touch the
monitor. Unique to GT-R NISMO are the leather-appointed
Recaro® seats with red synthetic suede inserts.
The performance of the all-wheel-drive GT-R NISMO has also
been upgraded, thanks in part to the standard model's
significantly reinforced body. The stiffened body structure
allowed the engineers to further refine the GT-R NISMO's
shock absorbers, springs and stabilizers, all of which, when
combined with the car's added downforce, result in a better
handling car than the previous model. This is evidenced by
the car's improved slalom times and superior cornering
performance (both up by nearly two percent from the previous
model). The GT-R's special Bilstein® DampTronic driveradjustable system – which utilizes multiple vehicle inputs to
provide appropriate damping forces and high level of control
for a variety of driving situations – features a special NISMOtuned shock absorber that more effectively transfers the
power of the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6, which still
produces 600 horsepower, to the road surface.
Dubbed the "VR38DETT," the GT-R NISMO's engine is the
result of the expertise that NISMO has gained from competing
in motorsports events around the globe. Mated to a 6-speed
dual-clutch gearbox, it features a pair of high-flow, large
diameter turbochargers used in GT3 competition. As with the
standard model, each GT-R NISMO engine is handassembled from beginning to end in a special clean room by
meticulously trained technicians, with an aluminum plate
added to the front of each engine showing the name of the
Takumi engine craftsman.
The 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO will be available in four
exterior colors. It is assembled in Tochigi, Japan, with the
engines hand-assembled in Yokohama, Japan.

Coupal and King Win Two Spectacular Races at Mont-Tremblant
The Nissan Micra Cup held its third and fourth races of the
2016 season as part of the Spring Classic at the Circuit MontTremblant. It was an action-packed two days in summer-like
temperatures which resulted in another win for Xavier Coupal
on Saturday, and one for Kevin King on Sunday.
Second in the championship after the first event, Albertan
Stefan Rzadzinski (Pneus Touchette) showed his
determination right away as he earned pole position heading
into Saturday's race. Rzadzinkski was just ahead of series
leader, Xavier Coupal (Albi Nissan) - who was no less than
eight-tenths of a second ahead of third place - 2015 champion
Olivier Bédard (Albi Nissan). Rzadzinski and Coupal's intense
performances in the series' identical and practically stock
Micra S's were a highlight for all spectators.
behind the leaders throughout the entire duration. Finishing
less than a second behind Coupal, her first podium of the
season was well-deserved. Along the way, she passed MarcAntoine Demers, Normand Boyer and Olivier Bédard, who lost
several places in the last lap as the victim of a collision. Chris
Sahakian completed the Top 6 ahead of Yves Aubé, Pierre
Clavet, Frédéric Bernier and Brian Makse.
The start of the first race took place under extreme heat on
Saturday afternoon and a battle for the victory quickly took
shape between four drivers. The lead changed hands many
times between Rzadzinski, Bédard, Coupal and Kevin King
who is the winner of the first round of the season. In the end,
King won with a slim two-tenths of a second lead over Coupal
and half a second over Rzadzinski.
The following day, Olivier Bédard had pole position ahead of
Stefan Rzadzinski, but it was Kevin King, starting in third, who
quickly challenged Bédard for the victory. The two former
karting teammates provided a tight and respectable battle
right until the end, which saw King earn his second win of the
season. Bédard finished seventh-tenths of a second behind
him, followed by Rzadzinski and Coupal, who has been
penalized by series officials after the race and dropped to
seventh place which now slightly closes the gap in the drivers'
championship. Another good battle occurred between Metod
Topolnik and Valérie Limoges, as both took advantage of the
Micra's agility at every turn in hopes of passing one another.
Topolnik eventually finished fourth ahead of Limoges, MarcAntoine Demers, Xavier Coupal, Pierre Clavet, Chris
Sahakian and Normand Boyer.
However, after reviewing on-board footage, series officials
stated that both King and Rzadzinski were guilty of making
avoidable contact during the last lap. King received a
35-second penalty and Rzadzinski a 30-second penalty on
their overall race times, dropping them far down the final
standings. Xavier Coupal was eventually declared victor
ahead of Valérie Limoges, giving the Quebecker his second
consecutive win.
In the drivers' championship, Xavier Coupal remains in the
lead with 136 points ahead of Stefan Rzadzinski (105), Valérie
Limoges (104), Kevin King (90), Marc-Antoine Demers (78)
and Olivier Bédard (65 points, tie with Jacques Bélanger and
Metod Topolnik). For the rookies, Ashley Sahakian was the
only driver competing this weekend and therefore earned both
wins, further increasing her lead at the top of championship
standings for this category.
