I’d first like to thank our host, Metropolitan South West Hockey Association, for graciously providing their excellent facilities to us for this event. I’d also like to thank in advance the large team of volunteers who will be hard at work over the next three days – your efforts are sincerely appreciated. The Open Field State Championships is one of the most exciting events on our hockey calendar, it being the culmination of years of experience and the testing ground of some of our greatest players. While enjoying the display on field, I’d also encourage everyone to take the time to socialise and enjoy the unique community atmosphere for which these events are known. I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank all the friends, family and supporters that have the journey to Macarthur. Your dedication to our sport is one its greatest assets and we hope you enjoy your time at the Open Women Field State Championships. Good luck to all the players competing over the course of the weekend.
