RESEARCH
During February 2012 work to research different categories of RV parks in
Texas was undertaken. The research covered a large geographical area in
Texas. A sample of parks was selected based on their offering Park Model
rental units, the total number of RV spaces, and their overall rating. The
research covered categories of parks not 100% of the RV parks in the area.
Key details were identified about each park. They were broken down by
categories: number of park model RV units including daily/weekly/monthly
rates; number of RV sites including daily/weekly/monthly rates; location by
town; amenities/facilities; and community activities. Overviews of each park
are included.

Existing RV Park Research
During February 2012 a project was undertaken to research different classes of RV parks in
Texas. The research of RV parks covered a larger geographical area than the Eagle Ford
Shale region. A sample of parks was selected based on their offering Park Model rental units,
the number of RV spaces, and their overall rating. 34 RV parks that were researched are a
sample of the total parks in the regions not 100% of the RV parks in the area. (As a side note,
there are hundreds of RV parks and thousands of RV space renters throughout this area.) Key
details were identified about each park. They were broken down by categories: number of park
model RV units including daily/weekly/monthly rates; number of RV sites including
daily/weekly/monthly rates; location by town; amenities/facilities; and community activities.

Overview of Largest RV Parks in Texas
The three largest RV parks surveyed are all located in the Rio Grande Valley where they appeal
to Winter Texans and retirees. Several hundred thousand people for colder regions spend 3-6
months or more in Texas. They are called Winter Texans. These three parks offer high-end
amenities and social activities designed to make their parks a community.
The 3 largest RV Parks found are:

Site widths at these parks are 35-40 feet, and the grounds and individual sites are nicely
landscaped.
