Dear Colleague,
To recast a popular phrase: “At GenPath, it’s not business—it’s personal.”
Although our parent company, BioReference Laboratories, is a publicly traded
company with thousands of shareholders, GenPath is operated by physicians and
patient care is our highest priority. This is evidenced by the way we differentiate
ourselves—we attract the most outstanding scientists available to review our materials
and keep our testing services on the cutting edge, and we routinely introduce new
technologies that make clinical relevance our prime concern.
GenPath has been a leading oncology laboratory since 1986. Many of our staff
have both witnessed and been instrumental in the changes to the diagnostic repertoire
available to oncologists and hematologists today. Specialized areas in molecular
diagnostics, special coagulation and genetics have evolved along with scientific
advances, allowing us to present unsurpassed national expertise to our physician clients.
GeneDx is the premier genetics laboratory in the country that combines
unparalleled expertise in DNA sequencing with an outstanding reputation for service
and support to physicians and clients alike. GeneDx’s technical capabilities strengthen
our research initiatives in oncology and genetics.
Our medical staff comprises more than 40 board–certified pathologists and
laboratory scientists who carefully evaluate each case and provide personalized service
with your patient foremost in mind. They cover a diverse set of pathology specialties and
are positioned to help clinicians make the most complex diagnoses. GenPath’s Scientific
Advisory Board members are sought-after thought leaders in their areas of expertise
and are affiliated with the most prestigious academic medical institutions.
For all of us at BioReference, GeneDx and GenPath, our mission is personal. It is
why we seek out the best and offer the highest quality to our physician clients.
Thank you for choosing GenPath.
Respectfully,

investigating the molecular defects that
underlie the myeloid malignancies such
as AML, myelodysplastic syndromes, or
myeloproliferative neoplasms, including
chronic myelogenous leukemia. His
laboratory has cloned several genes
involved in blood formation and has
extensively characterized the most
common translocation (exchange of
chromosomes) found in acute leukemia,
the t(8;21). More recently, Dr. Nimer’s

to understand how cancer cells resist
chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

develop new drugs for the treatment of
patients with various forms of lymphoid
and myeloid malignancies.
He has won numerous awards and is a
