It has been a busy year for our I&E
project group at Shell’s GC-19 platform.
Through all the activity, they continue to
work incident free and exemplify safety
in the work area.
Our project team has been working
in conjunction with Shell and several
other companies simultaneously, which
adds extra layers of risks to the job.
Due to outstanding job planning,
communicating, and through team
work they have continued to progress

A SENSE OF URGENCY
JASON THERIOT – MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE SHOP MANAGER
On September 5th, Shamrock’s
mechanical department received a call
from one of our customers informing
us of a failure endured with one of
their two Saltwater Pump (1197
Waukesha) Engines. Coincidentally,
our technicians were in the process of
performing a test run on a completed
overhaul of our own F1197 Waukesha
exchange engine, which had been
received from a previous sale only
two weeks prior to this call.
After sending a mechanic to inspect
and assist with the probable cause of
failure, we learned that their engine
needed extensive repairs and had to
be replaced immediately. A plan of
action was agreed upon through our

technicians at their dock along with
the newly overhauled engine, for

Working late Thursday night, our
technicians readied the engine for
service and applied an offshore
specified three part paint and primer
system. As requested, all project
variables were achieved and our crew
was at their dock by 6:00 a.m. Friday
September 6th.
Only 15 hours after the initial call and
report of failure, our technicians were
in the field performing the engine
swing process.

Earlier this year Shamrock was
awarded the second phase of an
electrical raceway and cable/wiring
upgrade where conduit previously
buried in the ground was replaced
with new cable tray raceways for
Shell Pipeline at their Gibson facility.
Shamrock also built the Remote I/O
panel which was installed near the
crude oil tanks, reducing the project
cost. The cables that were replaced
played a role in the control and
monitoring of the crude oil tanks.
At this build, two of our own
members from the Shamrock
team donated their time and
helped contribute to this
anniversary service event.
Shamrock received the following
message of support from the lead
engineer, David Murphy, who
supervised the project for Shell, “I’d
like to thank everyone involved in
making this a safe and successful
project. I can not think of a better
group to have worked with to finish

SOUTH TEXAS
AWARENESS MONTH OPERATIONS
DIANE LOFTON – BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR
RANDY LEPRETRE – OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
In October, National Breast Cancer
Awareness Month is a chance to raise
awareness about the importance of
screening and the early detection of
breast cancer. [About 1 in 8 women
born today in the United States will
get breast cancer at some point
during her lifetime.]
An entire year has passed since the
opening of the Shamrock office in
Kenedy, Texas. We began with only
a handful of production operators
working in the Eagle Ford shale region
and now have over 100 employees
working out of this area.
Shamrock has named every Friday in
the month of October “Pink Day”
and encourages employees to wear
pink to help spread the word. Please
send pictures of your “Pink Day” to
diane.lofton@go-shamrock.com to be
featured in an upcoming newsletter.
In addition to supplying production
operators, Shamrock also provides
rental equipment and I&E services
to our customers with assets in the
Eagleford. Drilling activity is expected
to continue to increase in this area
making it a hot spot for some time
to come.
We have a great management
team based out of our Kenedy office,
which has been a large contributor
to the success of this location. We
appreciate all the hard effort put in
by our employees to grow our south
Texas operations. Keep up the good
and safe work!

injured person, but rather it also
affects our family members, friends,
teammates, etc. Thus, it is crucial
to focus on safety every day, at
all times.
The message went far beyond
general work site safety practices
and focused on truly living safe;
not just at work but at home as
well (making safety a core value).
Remember to be proactive and not
reactive. Do not rely on someone
else to keep you safe, but be
accountable for your own actions.

URGENCY
Our support staff manages a wide
range of call-out technicians such as
I&E techs, PLC techs, tubing fitters,
CAD designers, electricians, SCADA
techs, inspectors, engineers, flow
computer techs, pneumatic techs
and project managers.
The majority of our technicians are
cross-trained in several of these areas.
We are also able to place personnel in
full-time rotating positions. We service
the entire Gulf of Mexico region as well
as land assets throughout Louisiana
and Texas.
from page 1 ‘A SENSE OF URGENCY’
By 8:00 p.m. on Friday, the job was
complete and their equipment was
back in service.
In the event of the secondary pump
being lost or having any problems
resulting in the lack of ability to
maintain proper levels, our customer
would have lost all production which
would have resulted in a “shut in” of
their entire field.
Through quick action, Shamrock
Energy Solutions was able to show
how serious we take our customers’
needs and how we will do whatever
possible in accommodating them
with a sense of urgency.
We believe that our success is largely
due to the expertise and skill of our
front-line technicians. Additionally, our
management staff does not believe in
