Dear Alumni, Friends and Family of Southern Miss,
As has been the tradition at The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation, this Annual Report reflects
the generosity of our most recent fiscal year. Since joining the University as vice president for Advancement in
February 2008, I have witnessed the great strides made to advance our University. We are now poised to develop
a comprehensive plan for our Foundation that will put more focus on the three tenants of fundraising: annual
giving, major gifts and planned giving. This plan will help paint a picture of what we can achieve to help our
students and faculty realize their dreams of opportunity, discovery and excellence.
This past fiscal year was a year of change and reorganization. Thus, you will note a few changes in this Annual
Report. In the first section, we emphasize the names of those who have made contributions to the University.
Please note that our donors in the Honor Club are recognized through lifetime or cumulative giving. Following
our donor recognition is an outline of our financial report.
In closing, please know that all gifts make an impact at Southern Miss. The names listed throughout this report

The mission of The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation is
to build relationships with alumni and friends in order to secure private
funds and other resources for the benefit of The University of Southern
Mississippi. As a non-profit organization, the Foundation receives, invests
and distributes private gifts in support of the University’s mission. The
Foundation provides service to our donors, our University and our
community by encouraging commitment and investment in the future of
