Everyone is looking forward to returning next year. — Selective Insurance “ TEAMBUILDING ADVENTURES TEAMING WITH GPS PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT – 2 HOURS Technology meets adventure when teams participate in a high-tech treasure hunt to collect specified items. Each team will be provided with a hand-held GPS unit that will be pre-programmed with vital coordinates of hidden components they must find (also known as caches). Utilizing team skills, two-way radios, GPS units and additional resources, each team will collaborate to find their caches. This program can take place onsite at the resort or on top of the mountain for a truly breathtaking experience. Using clues, teams will work together to locate items around the property. Once found, a team photograph will be taken with the item. Creative pictures are encouraged and rewarded. Each team will have to construct a poster at the end of the event that will be judged on creativity and the number of correct items identified and photographed. AMAZING RACE ADVENTURE Prepare to embark on an adventure that will allow participants to explore the area either by foot or other transportation. In small teams, participants will engage in several competitions where the objective is to locate race checkpoints, solve intricate team problems and/or challenges and then travel to the next checkpoint to do it all over again! Roadblocks, detours and cunning problem-solving challenges will take place throughout the adventure. Activities could include but are not limited to: search & rescue, GPS navigation, fly fishing, experiential games, etc. MOUNTAIN HIKE – 2 HOURS Take an invigorating hike with one of our certified personal trainers up to the top of the 1,500 ft. Hamburg Mountain and back down. You will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Vernon Valley. This hike is of moderate intensity. Please dress appropriately and bring a bottle of water. Weather permitting. Have an extra hour? Add a canoe trip on the mountaintop lake. CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE Teams are challenged to locate a variety of artistic creations and photographic snapshots which have been deliberately taken out of scale and their normal perspective. While searching for photos, teams will also search for clues related to the site location of their choice. Location: This program can take place in a variety of locations, including onsite at one of our hotels or at a local point of interest. ULTIMATE TOWNER OBSTACLE COURSE RACE Come and participate in a unique version of a mud run. The Ultimate Towner Obstacle Course Run includes: • Customized design for your regional destination • Your choice of obstacles from the menu of challenges • Focus on teams and teamwork to complete the course • Award ceremony following the event FOOTGOLF Experience the newest and most exciting crossover sport to hit the U.S. – FootGolf! FootGolf is two sports rolled into one, and is played by kicking a soccer ball (on a golf course) into an oversized hole to score – with rules similar to golf. FootGolf takes just 2 hours to play 18 holes, and the best part is, it can be enjoyed by all ages. FootGolf is perfect for a team Fundraiser Event or End-OfThe-Season Party. FootGolf is offered at Cascades and Minerals. Check out our website for FootGolf Rules at CrystalFootGolf.com. AMERICAN FOOTGOLF LEAGUE ACCREDITED TEAM EXPEDITION This is a tried-and-true event that involves a variety of fun, challenging, team-oriented activities that can be offered either indoors or outdoors. Opportunities for participants to get to know each other on a personal level, share unique experiences, and discover new processes and solutions to help them flourish throughout this event and in life. A popular initiative includes our ‘better, faster, cheaper’ framework which requires groups to interact while sharing the best practices. TEAMBUILDING ADVENTURES CHARITY BIKE BUILD Armed with wrenches and enthusiasm, teams race to construct the ultimate human-powered, no-gasoline-needed rocket known to many as a “child’s bicycle.” Teams will be faced with the challenge of assembling their “rockets” without any instructions, all while other teammates navigate entertaining, innovative puzzles and challenges to earn enough “money” to purchase that last crucial part needed to make their team’s bike the first produced. SKI CHAIRS Build and donate a New England classic - the Adirondack ski chair! Built from retired skis, these chairs are comfortable and stylish. All necessary materials and tools are provided, but it’s up to your group to design and build the chairs. They can be donated to area non-profits or taken back to your company. HANDS OF GRATITUDE Imagine life without one of your hands…it’s hard to fathom the daily hardships faced. Together, we can provide much needed prosthetic appendages for those who are unable to purchase their own. All materials, tools, and information needed to build functional high-end prosthetic hands are provided. In small teams, your group is tasked with turning the pieces into fully-functioning hands. Completed prosthetics will be donated to those who need a “helping hand”. PIPELINE This program is an interactive team-builder that encourages all to work together. All teams will be designated to an 8’x 8’ area, while connected to one another. Each team must utilize the limited supplies provided to them (e.g., PVC, duct tape, stakes) to help deliver a small steel ball from one end of the room to the other. Each team’s section of the pipeline must connect with the one before and after and so on. The metaphor of “delivering the product to the customer” is a perfect way to describe this exciting and brain-teasing activity. CORPORATE PICTIONARY This fun, competitive activity involves several rounds where one team member will be provided with a word (which can be either corporate jargon or company specific language) which they will then need to draw, act or sculpt out of putty for their team to guess. As the rounds progress, challenges will be incorporated such as drawing with your eyes closed or only being able to hum. A winner will be awarded based on the most correctly guessed words in the fastest amount of time. MURDER MYSTERY It’s a secret world of corporate intrigue involving international spies, stolen formulas, covert deals, and undercover deception. Your group becomes part of the action, as foreign agents vie for the opportunity to obtain a valuable new formula from an internationally recognized research scientist (our actors who move the scripted story along). When the competition turns deadly, it’s up to your group to help solve the murder, find the formula and expose the killer. TWO MINUTES FOR TEAMS Similar to “Minute to Win It”, come experience the new and improved: “Two Minutes for Teams!” These are short challenges that take place in six minute intervals per challenge. Two minutes will be dedicated to framing and planning, two minutes to execute, and two minutes to debrief. Each activity can be structured to focus on optimizing specific points and profit. BASECAMP Imagine a small team, equipped with a single headlamp, entering into a pitch-black conference room…the light shines into wafting clouds of mist and fog as participants search for scattered pieces of equipment located across the “mountain.” The feeling of rushing wind simulating mountain weather, plus the sound of 100 mile per hour winds are an experience that cannot be forgotten. INDOOR/OUTDOOR SEASONAL SPORT CHALLENGE CHOICES (with a coordinator): • Softball • Wallyball • Kickball • Horseshoes • Egg Toss / 3-Legged Race • Hula Hoop Contest • Ameba Race / Human Knot • Beach Volleyball • Dodgeball • Frisbee Golf Toss / Sack Races • Tug-of-War Competition • Basket Shoot (Indoors only) FOOD & BEVERAGE ACTIVITIES FARMING WITH GPS CHILI COOK-OFF Participants travel around the Resort with a GPS unit to collect ingredients for an appetizer. This activity includes: 45 minutes of instruction conducted by one of the golf professionals of the David Leadbetter Golf Academy, 3 holes of golf in scramble format on one of our spectacular Resort courses, wine sampling and an assortment of delicious hors d’oeuvres. “ A quick note to say what a wonderful time we had at our meeting at Grand Cascades and Crystal Springs this week. The entire group was blown away with both the facilities and the food & beverage. The diversity of the meeting space, the state-of-the-art AV equipment coupled with the fantastic staff really made my job as the planner a breeze. I will make a point of recommending this property anytime we are looking for a NJ property. Given its proximity to our HQ, it’s a phenomenal facility that I can’t wait to book again. I’m determined to use that wine cellar! Great job all — Ricoh Americas Corporation around! “ CUPCAKE CHALLENGE A group favorite! Each team receives twenty cupcakes to decorate. Chef hats, aprons and towels are provided to each participant. Each will receive frosting, fondant and piping bags. A communal center table will contain additional condiments and a display container that will be used to decorate cupcakes in a way that represents the team, the company, or positions in the company. Teams will have one hour to use condiments, display vessel and cupcakes to form their finished product, and then present. Cupcakes will be judged on teamwork, creativity and originality. Bonus: At the end of 20-30 minutes, there will be a mystery ingredient, or special add-on introduced to the event for even more fun and excitement. ALL ABOVE CULINARY EVENTS ARE SUBJECT TO: • Set-up fee • Alcoholic beverages are not included (unless wine pairing is ordered) • The Wine Educator cannot be offered on Saturdays Please note that food and beverage will have 21% Service Charge and 7% NJ Sales Tax added on. In this contest, teams are challenged to create a signature cocktail using the provided beverages, plus a secret ingredient. Each station will include everything needed, with other ingredients available in the center of the room to share. Teams will be given the instructions and will have 30 minutes to create as well as name their signature cocktail. Each team will be judged on team work, taste, creativity and originality. Enjoy 1 ½ hours of wine tasting with artisan cheeses and breads, instruction, a guided tour and wine Q&A with one of our renowned sommeliers in our world-class 135,000+ bottle Wine Cellar. Each member of the winning team will receive a bottle of our private label wine. Our kitchen will serve a delicious meal for all guests after the competition concludes. “ Your location was very well received and well liked. Everyone was happy with the proximity to NYC and Newark and the beauty of the area and the resort. Quite a few people expressed a desire to come back for a future event. The large majority of the staff was very nice and accommodating. Over all it was a very successful meeting. — IRUI “ BLIND WINE TASTING GAME Test your knowledge of wine with a blind wine tasting facilitated by our sommelier.
