The Window of Indonesian Islamic Academic Excellence Indonesia is constitutionally a secular state (but the government officially recognizes only six formal religions), with Islam being the dominant religion in the country. Indonesia also has a larger Muslim population than any other countries in the world, with approximately 202.9 million identifying themselves as Muslim (87.2% of Indonesia's total population in 2011). Boyce; as a partnership program between the Public Affairs Office of the Embassy of the United States of America in Indonesia and UIN • It provides space for public activities between the US and Indonesia by emphasizing an open dialogue to straighten prejudices, build mutual understanding, as well as providing access to current and accurate information about and from the US. Fethullah Gulen Chair (Turkey) • Fethullah Gulen Chair (FGC) is a partnership program between UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and PASIAD Indonesia. Since 2009, FGC together with UIN had been organizing various activities that involving academic and social elements by carrying out mission to spread peace, mutual understanding and harmony. • Fethullah Gulen is a Muslim intellectual and religion leaders from Turkey, he was honored with TIME magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2013 for his contributions. • Facilities in FGC: classrooms for language courses and related activities, library, and supervising service for students who are doing research on Hizmet Movement or Fathullah Gullen profile. • Location: Pharmacy Building of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (2nd floor). It existed since May 2012. This partnership was signed by UIN Rector, Prof. Dr. Komarudin Hidayat with the French Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr Bertrand Lortholary. • IFI actively promote French higher education in Indonesia. Each year, Campus France IFI in UIN provides France language courses, shares information to the students, or organizes exhibitions. • Location: UIN Jakarta - Jl. Ir. H. Juanda 95 Ciputat 15412, Language Center Campus 2 (3rd floor) Room 303 • As the result of collaboration between UIN Syarif Hidayatullah with McGill University and the Embassy of Canada, Ambassador of Canada to Indonesia H.E. John Holmes and Indonesia’s Minister of National Education Prof Dr Bambang Soedibyo, inaugurated the Canadian Resource Center (CRC) or McGill Canadian Corner on December 4, 2008. • The purpose of the establishment of this cultural center is to promote, preserve and enrich the understanding of cultural diversity to the campus community. Therefore, Canada itself is known as a multicultural country. • Location: Central Library of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (2nd floor). • Arabian Corner was opened since 2007 in cooperation of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah with the Embassy of Saudi Arabia. Its mission is to hold a Student Exchange Program and delivery of UIN Jakarta lecturers to study in Saudi Arabia. • In the meantime, Arabian Corner is confined to the collection of books in Arabic, and in the field of study of Islamization. • Location: Central Library of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (2nd floor) Ciputat, Tangerang. • Iranian Corner is a form of cooperation between the Faculty of Ushuluddin (UIN Syarif Hidayatullah), Islamic Cultural Center (ICC) and the Embassy of Iran. • Iranian Corner was established in 2005, as the center of Iran cultures and studies that exist throughout Indonesia. Currently, there are 12 of them at some leading universities. • In addition, the Iranian Corner holds some programs, such as offering Arabic and Persian language courses for free, and providing information about sholarships or student exchanges to Iran. • Location: Faculty of Ushuluddin and Philosophy at 2nd floor, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta • On May 13th 2014, the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta together with Master Chin Kung inaugurated the Cultural Center of the Chinese in Indonesia, and officially legitimated the Chinese Cultural Studies Center focused on Han Culture in UIN, Chin Kung Corner. • Master Chin Kung is a Buddhist religious leaders from China and also a recipient of an honorary doctorate at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah in 2004. • The Chin Kung Corner is strongly committed in fostering the attitude of religious harmony, teaching manners and respect for pluralistic ethnic, culture, and customs in Indonesia.
