Wakering, Rochford, aged 17. In 1871 census he was part of a household in Lambeth, Brixton, aged 27. Actually
he was a PELTRET Geo, a prisoner in Brixton Goal. England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892 Record for
George Peltret Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey 27 January 1868 for Burglar and Receiving, 7 years penal
servitude (and see 11 below). 1881 England Census has George, a shoemaker, aged 22 years [sic], married to
Jane NN. They live in the same premises declared by Jane & George Savoy namely 13 West Street, Bethnal Green,
Middlesex. In 1891 Census George’s age yet again differs married to Jane S Pelteret, son of 7 years George H.
In 1901 census he was part of a household, aged 59 [sic]; a shoe & boot maker

Burglary / Receiving. Alleged burglary in the dwelling house of Stephen Field, and stealing thirty-five coats
and other articles, his property. LEGER HENRY PELTRET received a good character — NOT GUILTY. ANN PELTRET —
NOT GUILTY . NICHOLLS — GUILTY. He was further charged with having been before convicted, to which he PLEADED
GUILTY. Sentence: Eighteen Months' Imprisonment. GEORGE PELTRET PLEADED GUILTY. He further PLEADED GUILTY to
having been before convicted. Sentence: Seven Years' Penal Servitude.

twins, the one surviving into old age, the other dying as a neonate probably in birth as he appears not to
have been baptised with him brother.

Julia Louisa PELTERETE. A spinster of 23 Beachwood Avenue, Coventry she died at 19 St. Andrews Road,
Coventry. Probate 12 March 1957 with estate of £ 2195 going to Jessie Ruth HINDMAN.

In the name of the Father Son and Holy Ghost I the undersigned Leger Pelteret now
residing with Sir James Burges 18 of Beau Park near Battle in the County of Sussex being
by the Grace of God in the perfect enjoyment of my senses do in order to secure my son
Leger Pelteret bequeath to him all I possess after my Decease. First a house that has
been sold for one hundred guineas and five guineas more situate at Gracey le Chateau.
About 13 guineas more are in the hands of my Cousin François Buzenet 19 who has been so

before Marriage and leaving no lawful Issue the whole is to go to my relations who are
the dispose of the Remainder of my Estate as they see fit.
