A Design Hotels Project
The Design Hotels™ community is large, scattered
and often on-the-go. With our Projects we want
to create temporal hospitality experiences, or
touchdown spots for like-minded people to come
together, celebrate, create. As shifting hubs, they
will change in flavor and form, but always satisfy
the various cravings of travel. San Giorgio Mykonos
started its humble beginnings in the ’90s thanks
to a successful local fisherman who laid claim to
a piece of Paradise Beach. Step into 2012 and
the 34-room property has changed hands to the
neighboring Paradise Club. Long-time friends of
Design Hotels™, proprietors Thomas Heyne and
Mario Hertel together with the owner Markos
Daktilidis approached the brand to design a new
hospitality experience. After its first project on a
pristine beach in Tulum, Mexico, Design Hotels™
now brings another dimension of temporary
hospitality experience to Europe.
Use this booklet as a collection of your personal
recommendations by our community, San Giorgio’s
creative thinkers and their friends. We encourage
you to share your experiences with us, as we
want you to be an integral part of it!

The boat to Delos, the birthplace of Apollo, takes

One of the most popular and fun beaches on
Mykonos, this party beach offers the clearest blue
waters besides well-visited bars and restaurants.

Paradise is the most famous beach of Mykonos,
known for it’s day and night beach parties,
which attract mostly young crowds.
Christos
25 min drive from San Giorgio Hotel
Christos is a fisherman, who offers excellent
fresh seafood on Ornos Beach. Delicious are
the grilled clams and shellfish.

Ornos is a lovely bay with sand and clean waters. As
it is close to Chora, it gets popular and lively. Tourist
facilities are well-developed there and it is sheltered
from the wind, more so then the other beaches.

Excellent place and fantastic atmosphere at a small
beach. It can get very busy in the late afternoon with
a great chilled mood and fancy Greek crowd.

Panormos

Panormos is a calm beach on the north coast
of Mykonos. It is very peaceful and almost wild.
Offering a nice alternative for relaxing, due to its
northern location, it is extremely sensitive to wind.

Agios Sostis
30 min drive from San Giorgio Hotel
Agios Sostis, also in the windy north of the island,
is the most natural and pristine beach on Mykonos.
Not even sun beds destroy the pure beauty of this
escape. Please note there is no shelter from the wind.

Kiki Taverna

Arrive by 12.45pm to ensure you get a table
at a decent time for lunch. The place is tiny and
reservations are available to absolutely no one,
which is of the owner’s strict policy. Consequently,
there is not even a number to call as Kiki’s has no
electricity or phone. The food is cooked in
an outdoor wood-burning oven and Kiki’s
guarantees a unique and authentic restaurant
experience. Open 1pm - 7pm daily.

Another untouched and pristine beach, which
is not easily accessible, due to a very bumpy road.
Once you get there, it combines panoramic views
and clear waters with a truly natural experience.
It is very sensitive to wind and does neither have
sun beds nor umbrellas. Only go there with no
winds, as it gets extremely windy and wavy there.

It’s the longest bay on the Island and its beach
invites to take a walk, while its clear waters

Located right on the beach of Paranga. The menu
offers fresh seafood, pastas and salads. Perfect spot
for lunch and only a short walk from the hotel.
The grilled octopus and grilled mushrooms
with garlic are our favorites.
