I wish to be a
Zoo Keeper
Twelve year old Ian-Conner loves Star Wars and his favorite restaurant is
Red Lobster. He loves playing soccer and is just like most twelve year old
boys you know, except that he has a life-threatening illness. Ian-Conner
has Cystic Fibrosis, but he doesn’t let it slow him down. He is a very active
twelve year old with a passion for animals. When asked, “if you could have
one wish, what would it be?” he knew exactly what he wanted: to be a zoo
keeper for a day.
Ian-Conner and his family flew to Ohio for his wish to come true, but he
didn’t just get the normal tour of the zoo that most people do. He got far
more. Ian-Conner went behind the scenes at the zoo, petting the animals
and helping other zoo keepers feed them. He even got to help clean out
some of the pens; he was a real life zoo keeper that day.
“Thank you so much for granting my wish. I couldn’t believe what I got to
do. I had the greatest time ever, I will never forget this,” said Ian-Conner.

Seven-year-old Chris Greicius’ wish to be
a police officer was granted in Phoenix by
volunteers from several law-enforcement
agencies on April 29, 1980. Chris’ legacy
continues today with Make-A-Wish
Wyoming. Five year-old Lanceton from
Cokeville had his wish granted in conjunction with World Wish Day when
he flew to Orlando, Florida to have his
wish come true to go to Disney World.
Volunteer Spotlight
Amy Kelly has been a Make-A-Wish Wyoming
volunteer for over 15 years. She has served in both
the Jackson and Evanston communities, and estimates that she has helped with nearly 45 wishes.
“I am so proud to be involved with Make-A-Wish.
I love the kids, families, volunteers, and businesses that help make these wishes come true. They
are the reason I do this.” said Kelly.
