Wednesday 19 October 2016 ALL INDIA WEATHER SUMMARY AND FORECAST BULLETIN EVENING Monsoon Watch ♦ The withdrawal line continues to passes through Lat.22°N/Long.94°E., Lat.19°N/Long.90°E., Lat.16°N/Long.85°E., Tirupathi, Bengaluru, Mangalooru, Lat.13°N/Long.70°E. and Lat.13°N/Long.60°E. ♦ Conditions are favourable for withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from entire country during next 45 days. Main Weather Observations ♦ Rainfall: (From 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) : Rain occurred at many places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at isolated places over Tamilnadu. The amount of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 0830 hours IST today are: Car Nicobar2; and Hutbay1. ♦ Minimum temperatures as on 19102016: Minimum temperatures are above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, East Rajasthan, Tamilnadu & Kerala; at isolated places over West Rajasthan & Lakshadweep. They are below normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Chhattisgarh, Telangana & North Interior Karnataka; at many places over East Uttar Pradesh & Vidarbha; at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada & Rayalaseema and at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch, West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and near normal over rest of the country. ♦ Maximum temperatures as on 18102016: Maximum temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C and above) at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Jammu & Kashmir and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; at a few places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar & Rayalaseema; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and South Interior Karnataka; at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu & Kerala; at a few places over rest Assam & Meghalaya and Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep. They were below normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and near normal over rest of the country. The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 4.5 km above mean sea level also persists. The system is likely to become a well marked low pressure area over the same region during next 48 hours. ♦ The trough extending from the above system to southwest Bay of Bengal in the lower levels persists. ♦ The Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan & adjoining Jammu & Kashmir between 3.1 & 3.6 km above mean sea level persists. ♦ The eastwest shear zone at 3.1 km above mean sea level roughly along latitude 11.0° N persists.
