2015 Meeting Dates:
Come at 6:30
29 He gives strength to those who are tired and more power to
those who are weak.
30 Even children become tired and need to rest, and young people
trip and fall.
31 But the people who trust the LORD will become strong again.
They will rise up as an eagle in the sky; they will run and not
need rest; they will walk and not become tired.
for social time and
dinner with friends!!
Meeting Starts
An example of faith was found on the wall of a concentration camp. On it a
prisoner had carved these words:
I believe in the sun, even though it doesn’t shine,
I believe in love, even when it isn’t shown,
I believe in God, even when he doesn’t speak.

I try to imagine the person who etched those words. I try to envision his
skeleton hand gripping the broken glass or stone that cut into the wall. I try to
imagine his eyes squinting through the darkness as he carved each letter. What
hand could have cut such conviction? What eyes could have seen good in such
horror? There is only one answer: Eyes that chose to see the unseen.
Father, you promised that there would be faith and strength and hope to meet
life’s problems. Father, give that strength to those whose anxieties have buried
their dreams, whose illnesses have hospitalized their hopes, whose burdens are
bigger than their shoulders.

Wow, what great night it was on March 28th for our first
Car Show of 2015! It is a great way to start the
season. We had 300 cars with lots of new ones
showing up. A great job was done by all who came to
help. We needed YOU! It takes lots of judges for the
big shows. We were ready to give out awards by 8:45
which I feel was good since the show was so large. We
have another engagement April 11th and will need
everyones help that can be there. The club is being
paid for judging this show. I hope that all of you that
are not going to Oklahoma City and can help. See you
at the next meeting April 14th.

Funny
If my body were a car, about this time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model.
I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull.
My headlights are out of focus, and it's especially hard to see things up close.
My traction is not as graceful as it once was.
I slip & slide & skid & bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.
It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed.
My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the worst of it….
Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter,
Either My Radiator Leaks or My Exhaust Backfires!
If you aren't there yet, don't laugh, it will happen sooner than you expect.

CHRISTAIN CLASSIC CRUISERS TARGET PRACTICE & BRUNCH
Well, we all seemed to have had a great time. I know Darla & I really enjoyed it all. There were twentyfive enthusiastic participants. We began the day with a great Brunch and a tour of the house and shop.
You can always count on good food and good fellowship.
Obviously, safety was the paramount word of the day. Bobby presented all participants with two
documents, "The Rules of the Range" and a "Waiver of Liability" to sign. I had set up a target area, pulled
my flat-bed trailer into a proper position. We had built a "rest" on the shooting side. We had also stacked
several bales of hay and mounds of dirt down in a small valley to create the range where any stray bullets
would just hit the ground and not go flying across the countryside.
The target shooting began!! Again, safety was ever present. Only two shooters were on the trailer.
Range Master - Dick McRae maintained order on the range. Dick also provided instructions to several of
the first-time and inexperienced participants. A myriad of targets were available from small, round spinning
discs to silhouette paper targets. There were no moving targets (i.e. dogs, cats, cows, or misbehaving
husbands).

Club Happenings
CHRISTAIN CLASSIC CRUISERS TARGET PRACTICE & BRUNCH
(Continued)
As part of the activities, Dwain Klopfenstein provided a Black Powder demonstration.
Dwain showed how to properly load and fire a Black Powder rifle. I am not sure that any of
us would have survived any type of attack (man or beast), as the process of loading the one
ball was very slow and deliberate. So much different mentality than the 30-round magazine on
an AR-15 rifle of today.
We moved a little closer to the targets (some could not see targets well enough). Still
maintaining safety rules, with several shooters in a straight line firing down into the target
area. Yes, we seriously damaged the paper targets, the toilet lid (not Vicky Sowell's trophy),
a five gallon paint can, and a Dr. Pepper can. We did experience one scare, thankfully, not a
serious one. One of the targets was a 12" piece of bullet proof glass. We had two bullets
ricochet - with one hitting Clifford Friesen. He had a red spot on the right side. Burl
checked with Clifford on Monday and Clifford said that he was okay. He now can say he has
been shot with a .40 caliber bullet. Clifford said he was going to make a necklace out of it.
All the Members picked up the spent shell casings and Darla and I counted 487 rounds, not
counting the shell casings that some members took home with them to reload. We must have
shot well over 500 rounds. We took lots of pictures and hope you all enjoy them. Visit the
CCC web site or the CCC FaceBook page to view all of the photos.

GOODGUYS at TMS
Submitted by J.B. West
Well sports fans. This years Goodguys show was definitely a separator of the trailer
queens and the drivers. Friday was a very sparse showing of cars. With rain showers
moving through, few paid attendance guests were seen. TK, Dick McRae, and JB went
out in the 55 Pontiac. And no, the cars won't melt as some may feel. Bob Bianco came
by for a short visit. Of course our club president Gary Veach worked the Goodguys
booth. After sitting in the car to avoid getting wet, around 1 PM it was time for some
much needed nourishment so a stop was made at the Twisted Root in Roanoke.
Saturday was a much better day weather wise. There were many more cars and
attendees. I particularly enjoyed seeing many fellow Street Rodder Road Tour cruisers
and discussing our next big tour for this year. Stan and Pat Friesen were seen taking
photos. Ed Hogan was one of the club members in attendance who enjoyed his outing.
There was an all electric Mustang capable of near 200 MPH (per the owner). We had an
electric scooter that didn't go as fast but it did save the shoe leather.
As usual some very nice cars were there along with the hodgepodge of rat rods. I may
have missed some club members who attended. But I've slept since then so forgive me
if I failed to acknowledge you. Mid-afternoon the skies opened up and rain quickly
dashed any enthusiasm for the car show. A hasty retreat for the exit by both cars and
attendees ensued. Alas, enough of a good thing was chastened by the rain.

Motorhead Sunday at Dayspring Church Arlington, TX
03/22/2015
Submitted by Bob Stout
Jim Rowlett Ministries held the annual "Motorhead Sunday" at Dayspring Church on this
Sunday morning. Everyone was a little anxious, as the sunshine did not peek out from the
clouds. Rain had fallen earlier in the morning, but the faithful still brought their cars and
trucks. I believe that there were thirty-some members of CCC and other car family members
that made the event. Linda Rowlett fed us sugar disguised as donuts, so that we would all
be awake for church. There was coffee and orange juice. There were some that brought their
own gallon of milk.
This event had a first, Pastor Gary had invited the Dayspring Spanish Church to join the
morning worship services so that they could enjoy the cars, the quartet, the sermon, the
fellowship, and the food. Because of this invitation, it required that Jim preach his sermon
and a Spanish speaking minister that would interpret the sermon. Not sure, but I believe that
Jim was pretty tired after concentrating so hard to keep his thoughts in perspective. The
Pacesetters Quartet sang several songs that brought smiles and tears (is not that what
Southern Gospel Quartet music is suppose to do). GREAT JOB by all. Our own CCC member,
Fay Powers, played the piano and her twin sister, Kay lead the song service during the
opening music.

Food and fellowship followed the morning worship services. Dayspring Ministries provided the
hamburgers and chips. For those with a sweet tooth, they had brought several dozen CiCi's
Pizza cinnamon rolls. A BIG THANK YOU to Joe Bob and Fay Powers, Wayne
Klopfenstein, and all of the Dayspring members for a wonderful event.
CCC member, Rick Rodgers, won the "Children's Pick" award. As you can see, there were
several judges for this award. Congratulations Mr. Rodgers!!
If you were at Dayspring, thank you for coming. If you missed it, there is another Motorhead
Sunday in April (the 19th) at Northeast Baptist Church in Southlake, TX. Car show, coffee and
donuts at 9:00 a.m. with church services starting around 10:30. Pacesetters will provide the
music in songs, and Rev. Jim Rowlett will feed us The Word. The church will provide
hamburgers and hot dogs and there is always a great selection of cakes and pies!!
Please plan to be there - RAIN or SHINE!!

NSRA APPRECIATION DAY & SAFETY INSPECTIONS
AT PAINLESS PERFORMANCE
NSRA Appreciation Day was held at Painless Performance facilities on Saturday, 28th March.
This was probably the very best weather that we have experienced for several years. The is
an annual event, hosted and sponsored by Painless Performance. We had thirty+ sweet cars
and trucks. NSRA members receive a Hat Pin at registration. NSRA's North Texas State
Inspector, Dwight Leatherwood, and his inspection team members were busy inspecting
the vehicles. Dwight's team that were present were: Inspectors - Dick McRae, TK
Kinnan, Chris Sowell, and Burl Hurley. Several of the team member's wives were there
to help with setup, registration, and just made the day better by them being there. They
were: Linda Leatherwood, Darla Hurley, and Carolyn Stout. A BIG thank you to
Dwain Klopfenstein and members of Top Tin that cooked the lunch. There was a large
contingent of ladies that solved most of the world's problems sitting inside the building. In
addition to those already named were: Linda Rowlett, Margie Rodgers, and Anne
Davidson.
Our own CCC Club Member, Ed Hogan was excited that his '32 Roadster was chosen by the
Safety Team for the only award that was given at this event.
Dennis Overholser, well, what can we say except Thank YOU? Dennis organized and
orchestrated the food and the grill, he provided everyone with a guided tour of the Painless
Performance facilities (the offices, the Product Development area, and the Assembly plant),
and he stayed until the end to lock the doors and close the proverbial gate. Thank you for
all that was in attendance with their vehicles. Thank you for the ladies that came out to
spend the morning with us. And most of all, thank you to the ownership of Painless
Performance for their graciousness of being an annual sponsor and host for this event.

SPECIAL INTEREST AUCTION
Submitted by Dwain Klopfenstein of Christian Classic Cruisers
We received this from a member of the Cassville Cruisers. The auctioneer says there are 451
cars, owned by 2 brothers who started buying cars 30 years ago, and they have been sitting out
in fields, starting bids will be $300 (because they will bring that at the crusher) and
everything must go by the end of day. All will need some repair but he said there might be some
that you could put a new battery in and drive off in it, but they will need new tires since they
have been sitting (and probably new gaskets if I was guessing). Some are in worse shape than
others. I did not get the man's name, but the (479) 236-8879 number is his cell phone and you
can call him anytime for more info. If you could please pass along to the Mustang and Chevy
Clubs, they might find some interest in the flyer.
All the cars have been sitting for 20+ years, some are complete some are parts cars, but they
have most years Impalas, lots of Novas and Chevelles, a few Corvettes including a 1960 model.
Some GTOs, a few Firebirds, early Barracudas [humpbacks], Chargers, a couple of Challengers,
several Chevy pickups. There is some old stuff but I don't think they even know for sure what it
is. It should be online soon.
