GLOBAL CHANGES AND YOU Come hear the ideas of an eco- futurist and a yogi VIU’s Nanaimo campus, Building 356, Room 109, from 4 to 5:30 pm both days Monday, March 23 - Guy Dauncey – “Faith in the Future: Activism and Global Change.” There are so many things in the world that call out for change, but how can we sustain our confidence and have faith in the future? Guy Dauncey is a speaker, author, activist and eco-futurist who works to develop a positive vision of a sustainable future, and to translate that vision into action. He is founder and Communications Director of the BC Sustainable Energy Association, co-founder of the Victoria Car Share Cooperative, and the author or co-author of nine books, including the award-winning Cancer: 101 Solutions to a Preventable Epidemic and The Climate Challenge: 101 Solutions to Global Warming. He is currently completing a new book titled Journey to the Future: A Better World Is Possible. He is an Honorary Member of the Planning Institute of BC, and a Fellow of the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. His websites are www.earthfuture.com and The Practical Utopian. Monday, March 30th - Kavita Maharaj “Change the World and Stay Sane!” Kavita will speak about approaches to citizen engagement from a Gandhian perspective. Kavita Maharaj is a Yogi, a teacher of Yogic Philosophy, and an internationally recognized registered yoga teacher and trainer.
