The present brochure contains the specialisations
offered by the Babes-Bolyai University at undergraduate level
for Admission in 2016.
Further information about the admission can be found at
http://admitere.ubbcluj.ro. Please access from this website
both the general information on the admission procedure, and
the information on the required specialisations on the faculties
websites. The information can be accessed from the main page
menu, at "structure" and then "faculties". For any further
details, respectively complete information on the specialisations, please refer to the admission committees of the faculties
that provide these specialisations. The number of places –
financed and tuition places – are communicated by the Ministry and by the University subsequent to the publication of this
informative brochure.
Any further alterations of the present material, provided
further regulations are issued by the Ministry of National
Education, respectively following the authorization of new
specialisations, will be promptly communicated via all available
means. The responsibility passes on the Admission committees
of the UBB faculties, the Centre for Communication and PR and
the Permanent Admission Offices.

Written test in Mathematics or Computer Science (upon candidate's choice)
from a Mathematics/ Computer Science theme announced on the faculty
website;
UBB Math-Informatics Competition, organized by the faculty April 16, 2016 at
9.00 a.m. allows the candidates to replace the written test.
The grade obtained in the competition (if it is at least 6) can be considered,
upon candidate's request, the grade of the admission written exam.
Candidates who obtained outstanding results in Mathematics, Informatics or
Astronomy national and international Olympiads and competitions, as well as
the first 6 ranked in each discipline of the UBB Math-Informatics Competition
are admitted with grade 10.00;
The Faculty offers the candidates who obtained outstanding results in specialized school competitions and Olympiads the possibility to benefit from certain

Selection criteria
One-hour multiple choice test.
For the admission exam, candidates will choose one of the three disciplines:
Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or Mathematics-Algebra.
The test subject is elaborated according to the syllabus for these subjects and
can be found at: http://chem.ubbcluj.ro/admitere/tematica.html.
The test will consist in 6 multiple choice questions (out of which only one is
correct), selected out of a set of 50 multiple choice questions which will be
posted on http://chem.ubbcluj.ro/admitere/tematica.html at least 4 months
before the admission exam.
In the registration form the language of choice for the admission exam will be
specified.

Admission score is calculated as an arithmetic mean between the grade
obtained in the admission test and the average obtained at the baccalaureate
exam according to the formula:
Admission score = 0.2 x (admission test grade) + 0.8 x (baccalaureate exam
average)
As an alternative to multiple choice test the result of the "Candin
Liteanu" competition can be taken into account.

Selection criteria for the specialisations with current number 1, 2:

After completion of written test in Romanian language, candidates will write in
maximum 30 minutes an essay in an international language (English, French,
German, Russian, Italian, Spanish) on a Pass/ Fail basis.

In order to pass the linguistic competence test in the two languages of the
