WFME Moves to 106.3 FM Family Radio can now be heard at 106.3 FM from Mt. Kisco, New York! It’s main, or local, coverage is a radius of about 30 miles from the Mt. Kisco area, reaching well into spots such as White Plains and New City, NY, with fairly good distant coverage — as far as Danbury and Stamford, CT, to the East; and Yonkers, NY, to the south. FM is not affected to any high degree by weather nor atmospherics; and so, if you are able to tune us in at 106.3, the reception should be very consistent. * Stations with extended service via translators. The Joy of Sharing Listener Letters Coram, NY - WFRS - Dear Family Radio - Your station gives me great encouragement - it is refreshing! It is clear and crisp. The Gospel is trumpeted and I enjoy it. I get a good signal and am very thankful. You will be in my prayers. My gift will keep coming. And I will send what I am sending, until, maybe down the road I can send more. Bar to, P A - WKDN AM - Thank you so much for the new arto, PA station, 950 AM in Philadelphia. I can’t get it 24 hours, but, from about 7:30 a.m., till about 4:30 p.m., I have Family Radio back and I am thankful for what I have. I don’t know another station where I hear music that really ministers to me. I cried when I got it back - tears of joy this time! Thank you so much for Family Radio - I do praise God! Jamesto wn, CA - KEFR & KEAR FM - Mr. Camping, I’m so amestown, happy to hear you again on the radio, encouraging and comforting us through the Word of God. I praise God for answering our prayers that He is able to give you again the ability to teach us, and to bring the Gospel and serve Him. I’m 59-years-old now, a prisoner, locked in my cell, but always alone with God. I never had a chance to spend so much time with God - meditating on His Word and praying alone in my “closet.” What great opportunities! Another thing - every day that I wake up, I’m sitting in my mission field. I know its not always easy. Once in awhile I have some encounters with our enemies. They scoff and mock me, and disrespect me. But this is how I learned from God to be patient and a peacemaker, trusting in Him more, and more. g Aston, P A - WKDN AM - I am so glad PA Family Radio can be heard again on the radio in the Philadelphia area. This is such a wonderful blessing. Thank you for all that you do. May God continue to bless you. Should you wish to take part in our ministry, please return this slip in the envelope provided. e-mail, which is: I would like to receive Family Radio correspondence through my you can count on my gift of $ each month. Praise God for opening the doors to make this possible. Family Radio is back on our area! Hallelujah! Enclosed is a small donation to help with the ministry. May God continue to use you for His glory! OpenLine is a report on the latest news and updates from the ministry of Family Radio, to help keep you informed of the many ways that our Lord continues to use this ministry to His honor and glory. The New WKDN at 950 AM daytime transmitter site is located in Philadelphia, PA. W e rejoice that Family Radio can again be heard in Philadelphia and Camden areas on a new AM signal at 950 AM! The new WKDN-AM is a very powerful signal that reaches all the way from areas south of Dover, Delaware; to the north, through Lancaster, Reading and Allentown, PA; and east into New Jersey. The best NJ coverage is in the southern and central portions of the state, especially to the west; however, there is some distant coverage into limited areas of northern NJ and in southern Long Island, as well. Like most AM stations, the nighttime coverage pattern is different from the daytime coverage, to eliminate interference with other stations due to atmospheric conditions; and so, reception to many areas, except in Philadelphia and points east, will be more limited in the nighttime. Also, because AM is susceptible to weather and atmospheric conditions, anyone who formerly was able to listen to either WKDN or WFME has at least a possibility of reception, at times, on 950 AM, during some parts of the day and many will have solid reception. In addition to this new signal on 106.3 FM, we are working diligently to secure a replacement AM station powerful enough to cover the loss, or, make up for the loss of WFME 94.7, with Family Radio again being heard in the Metropolitan New York area. We also realize that the loss of this once-powerful beacon has hit our listeners living in, and around, New York / Northern New Jersey areas, very hard; but we trust that God knows this, and will provide — in His time. In the meanwhile, please keep praying for us at Family Radio. We will keep you informed as we get more definitive news. Please see page 3 for map of coverage. The WKDN AM station has two locations that it broadcasts from - a daytime transmitting location, as well as, a nighttime facility. The signal coverage will vary from day to night. The coverage maps show the approximate areas that are reached with both it’s daytime signal (top), and it’s nighttime signal (below). Let your friends and former listeners know of God’s faithfulness, and encourage them to tune in! In this Issue: Volume 1 Number 1 God: Our Father Harold Camping talks about the greatest gift of all- the gift of salvation. Words of Comfort, Words of Hope Selected Scripture verses as you reflect on the Words and promises of God. Charlie Menut (right), Station and Regional Manager for WFME, and staff member Igor Ipince, are shown next to the newly installed satellite dish, that receives Family Radio’s programs at the Mt. Kisco, NY, facility. HAROLD CAMPING PRESIDENT, FAMILY RADIO The greatest gift of all, which is also the focus of the Lord’s Prayer, is the gift of salvation... God: Our Father A study by Harold Camping The Lord’s prayer is given to us in the Word of God in two passages, Luke 11:2-4, and Matthew 6:9-13: After this manner therefore pray ye: en, Our F ather which ar Father artt in heav heaven, Hallo wed be thy name. Thy allow kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the po wer er pow er,, and the glor gloryy, for ev ever er.. Amen. When Jesus prayed, He addressed God as His Father. Amazingly, God commands us to also address God as “Our Father.” We do not fully understand such condescension on God’s part, but we do know that the Bible speaks of the Father as the giver of every good and perfect gift. We read in James 1:17: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down fr om the F ather of from Father lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. The greatest gift of all, which is also the focus of the Lord’s Prayer, is the gift of salvation: For G od so lo God lovved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 The Old Testament also has references to God as our Father. For example, Psalm 68:5, “A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.” In the Bible, the fatherless is a reference to the spiritually destitute, the unsaved people. We are of God our Father through creation, but our sins have estranged us from God. Spiritually we are orphans, but God comes to us as a Father to the fatherless. God may be a Father to those who acknowledge their orphaned condition, their spiritual bankruptcy. The Lord Jesus is spoken of as the everlasting Father in Isaiah 9:6: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonder ful, onderful, Counsellor od, The Counsellor,, The mighty G God, ev erlasting F ather rince of everlasting Father ather,, The P Prince Peace. We read in Psalm 103:13: Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. God cares for those who love Him. See also Isaiah 63:16, Isaiah 64:8, Romans 9:21, Romans 8:15-17, John 6:44, Luke 15:18. This is a lesson taken from the booklet, “Lord Teach Us To Pray,” by Harold Camping. A complete copy of the booklet is available free, by calling: 1-800-543-1495, or writing to: Family Radio Oakland, CA 94621 Prayer Time Family Radio Prayer Requests ...Pray for us, that the Word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you... 2 Thessalonians 3:1 Praise God for 54 years of ministry! It was back on February 4, 1959, when the first radio signals of Family Radio began to be sent out over the airwaves over KEAR FM, with its studios located in downtown San Francisco. Ever since then, Family Radio has always been a partnership between God’s people and the Lord, with Him as its head. Through this beautiful joint venture — in all that has, and would, be done — we exalt and magnify the Lord for his finished work of salvation through Christ our Lord. And all the glory and credit is God’s alone. God has blessed and used Family Radio mightily throughout these 54 years of ministry. Pray that our Lord would continue to guide our paths as we seek to be faithful in presenting the Gospel. Pray for the changes that have occurred to our station WFME. Pray that our Lord would guide us to re-establish a strong presence in the New York / Northern New Jersey areas, as we seek God’s leading with a possible replacement AM station, powerful enough to cover the loss of coverage to the area. We rejoice and praise God for His restoration of WKDN. Family Radio can again be heard in the Philadelphia / Camden, NJ, areas on a new AM signal at 950 AM. Your prayers would be appreciated for our staff as we enter the winter months — particularly for those technicians who are called throughout the day or night to handle urgent situations, often created by severe weather, to keep the ministry on the air. Pray for our Lord’s protection and safety for our staff, and that any problems that may occur would be resolved quickly – to God’s glory! PRAY for the great numbers of people who are isolated in their homes due to advanced age, illness, limited finances, or any other limiting condition, whose primary source of fellowship is through the radio. Praise be to God that Family Radio can bring blessing to these listeners, any hour of the day or night. Pray for the ministry in general, that all those who teach, announce, sing, or write, would remain faithful to the Scriptures – that the true Gospel would be proclaimed — and that God would have all the honor and glory!
