Message from the Director, Rose Swidan
I want to take this time to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a Happy
New Year. I’m asking every senior to help me with my New Year resolution;
to break our record for the number of seniors that visit the Center this year. I
want to extend our services and reach out to all those who need help or want
to get out of the house and join us in more activities. I want to help seniors
and every resident that may need assistance.
There are so many services that our Senior Center provides, and we have a
lot of fun doing it! The third Thursday of each month we have a food pantry,
commodities and focus hope. We have daily activities and a very nice
workout room. We have a ping-pong table, a pool table and different games
every day. We also have shopping trips, movie out, and lunch out. For health
services, we will drive anyone to the doctor, dentist, bank and other
necessary places. We have a wonderful City that cares about all our
residents and offers these services to seniors as well as people of all ages.
I am asking everyone if you know a neighbor or someone that needs help or would just benefit from
geting out, to please reach out and help them take advantage of all our activities and events. If you
need another copy of our monthly Communicator, they are available at the Senior Center or online
at www.romulusgov.com. We have a wonderful staff and we are here every week day to help
you. Please come and invite others to our luau in January for some summer fun with great food,
wonderful music, gifts and raffles.
Wishing you a Happy New Year filled with lots of love,
Rose
Thank you to everyone that donated for our Christmas Gala
Luncheon and to Corpore Sano for donating the ham.
God bless you all, you know who you are.
Was this the last season for your
artificial Christmas tree?
Please donate it to the Senior Center!
We are accepting any gently
used/clearance artificial trees for our
holiday decorations next year!

Message from Mayor Burcroff
I hope you and your family have a happy holiday season. There were a lot of
accomplishments to celebrate during the last year and we plan to
continue to improve Romulus together in 2016. We look forward to
expanding our community events and offering more fun activities for families
and people of all ages this year.
Even though it might not feel like winter yet, please be on the alert for snow
emergencies that are usually instituted when four inches or more of snow is
expected, but can happen at lower amounts depending on icy conditions.
During a snow emergency, please remove any vehicles from the roadway
and encourage your friends and family to do the same. This allows our DPW
workers to clear the snow quickly and efficiently. This is especially important
in order for emergency response vehicles to have access to your homes and
neighborhoods. We appreciate your cooperation in these efforts.
I look forward to seeing you in the upcoming new year.
Sincerely,
LeRoy D. Burcroff, Mayor of Romulus
