We would particularly like to thank Drs. Stark, Hoffstetter, Silberstein, Saper, Sheftell, Peroutka, Ramadan and Burwell for their active support of MAGNUM and for their continuing efforts to improve the understanding and treatment of Migraine disease. A National Understanding for Migraineurs, Inc. (M.A.G.N.U.M.). Because of the lack of public awarenessabout the seriousnessof migraines, the response and support for migraine sufferers must increase. M.A.G.N.U.M.'s efforts to include migraine diseaseas a disability is one important step that should be taken. With over 11 million Americans who suffer from migraine disease,it is critical to have an organization willing to take the lead in educating the public about what migraine diseaseis and what can be done to assist migraineurs in improving their quality of life while dealing with this debilitating disease. Migraine is an organic neurological diseasethat affects primarily women. Because of the lack of understanding and years of misinformation about the disease,we are fortunate to have an organization such as M.A.G.N.U.M., leading the public awarenesseffort. M.AG.N.U.M. is bringing out important facts to migraineurs about treatment ~tions which will assist individuals until a cure is discovered. I support tile work ofM.A.G.N.U.M. and I thank them for taking on this diseasethat clearly needed an advocate to raise the public's awareness. Through M.A.G.N.UM.. many will begin to learn more about the disease, discover helpful treatments and experience an improved qualityoflife.
