There are several volunteer activities taking place during the month of April right here at CSU! Each event is unique and guaranteed to be an experience you won’t forget! There are several activities every year put on by the SLiCE office so feel free to check out their website www.slice.colostate.edu for updated event information. Here are a few of the great events taking place this month! CSUnity– CSUnity is an event where students can reach out to members and groups of the Fort Collins community and spend a day giving back to the place we all call home. Help elderly neighbors do housework they have trouble with, help with the food bank, or work with several non-profit groups around the area. Ram Welcome Leader– Do you remember the big carnival and orientation at the beginning of the school year welcoming you as a college student and a CSU ram? Most people remember Ram Welcome as one of the highlights of their college career. Now it’s your turn to be a part of that experience for freshman coming to CSU in Fall 2010. Orientation & Transition Programs is now accepting applications to be a Ram Welcome Leader this fall. Ram Welcome will take place August 19-22nd this year. Click Project Homeless Connect Summer Gear Drive 2010 Project Homeless Connect is a nationwide project that provides a onestop resource shop for the homeless or nearly homeless in the community. This year, SLiCE has planned a Project Homeless Connect for the Fort Collins Community and they need your help! From now until April 16th, the SLiCE office is accepting new and slightly used donations of socks, sweatshirts, rain jackets and ponchos, backpacks and daypacks, and hygiene products for the resource fair on April 23rd. Donations can be dropped off in the SLiCE office located in the LSC. This is a great way to help less fortunate members of the community and get involved in making a difference! here to view to application and apply for this great event! ASAP Spring ConcertEverybody has heard about ASAP’s Spring Concert featuring Pepper and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and here’s your chance to earn a free ticket to the show! All they ask for is 4 hours of your time on April 11th as well as attending one info meeting on March 31st in the LSC room 211E or April 6th in the LSC room 205 at 5pm. Help set up for the concert during the day and earn a free ticket for the show that night! Bring Spring Inside It’s spring time! The flowers are starting to bloom and the trees are getting their leaves back. You can see signs of new life all around you, but does your house or apartment seem less than spring like? Well there are things that you can do even living in a house or apartment to get you ready for spring. There are many plants out there that do great inside. The key is finding the right one and then know the care instructions for it. Here are a few plants that do well in apartments: African Violet, Bonsai Plants, or Paper Whites.
