Mike Satren resigns as President
Coeur d’Alene Airport Association Newsletter October 2011 2011-2012 Officers/Directors President, Linda Polley, (208) 640-8283 vice president, open Hi CdAAA Board, Frank O’Connell, treasurer, (208) This e-mail is a confirmation that I resigned as president and resigned from the board 818-5626 Peggy Appleman, secretary, (208) during the board meeting October 10. 665-7196 As the CdAAA decides whether to gear up for a bigger show, tries to repeat this Dave Logue, (208) 659-9065 year's event or goes some other direction, this month is a natural time for a new Mike Gossett, (208) 755-2720 president to be elected. Murdo Cameron, (208) 640-1620 After reflecting on my contributions to date and reviewing my own personal time Mike Satren resigns as President Richard LeFrancis, (208) 664-0437 commitments, the decision to resign at this time came quickly. We have never had more than a meager involvement of KCOE users in our midst and Jim Thorpe, (208) 765-9015 Dean Haagenson, (208) 772-9753 of course even fewer involved regularly in board activities. That is the way of most Allen Peterson, (208) 661-8630 volunteer organizations but it is hard to stomach, even so. Joni Lueck, (208) 659-9066 With CdAAA board support, our organization managed to insert mention of the airport Holly Forshee, (208) 640-1177 in the Transportation Section of the new 15-year Kootenai County Comprehensive Allen Peterson, newsletter editor, Plan with a modest acknowledgement of its worth to the community. Stronger (208) 772-6968 language sourced from an FAA document was rejected however. That goes to show Cd’A Airport Association the wiggle room that County and City planners always want to retain when tax c/o Mike Gossett promises from unscrupulous developers tempt poor land use planning decisions on P.O. Box 616 developments off the end of runways and in adjacent turning zones. Hayden, ID 83835 My hopes to build an airport advocacy PowerPoint presentation were only partially developed in a talk I fashioned and gave to the Post Falls Rotary at Linda Polley's invitation. I will make it available to anyone who wants to carry on with that project. Calendar of Events The August 20, Pancake Breakfast and Fly-in was a resounding success. Thanks to Cd’AAA Board Meeting, Nov. all who worked so hard to make it happen and thanks to Tim Komberec and Empire 15, 5:30 p.m. at Pappy Boyington AIrlines for sponsoring the downtown shuttle. Field Preservatorium (Old Eagles Regards, Mike Satren building, 1600 W. Wyoming) Spirit of Freedom/Honoring Our Heroes, Nov. 11, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bird Aviation Museum, Sandpoint.
