Nowhere else on Earth
has a greater diversity of
landscapes within as small
an area as Nepal. It is widely
acknowledged as one of the
most spectacular trekking
destinations in the world.
360 degree view of the Himalaya
giants such as the Annapurnas,
the holy Machapuchere (Fishtail)
and Dhaulagiri. On clear days it is
possible to see the Pokhara Valley
from the top. It is beautiful trekking
with lots to discover. The maximum
height of this trek is 3200m.
Central Nepal is dominated by the
Annapurna Himal and the town of
Pokhara. About two thirds of trekkers
in Nepal visit the Annapurna region.
Treks here offer good scenery of both
high mountains and lowland villages.
The itinerary opposite gives you a brief taste
of the challenge ahead but for more detailed

Yorkshire Cancer Centre Appeal is the
fundraising arm of St James’s Institute
of Oncology in Leeds.
St James’s Institute of Oncology (Bexley Wing)
The Centre provides a range of cancer services
to a catchment community of more than 2.6m
people across Yorkshire and over 2,000 patients
are treated at the Centre every day.

Day 7: Tadapani - Ghandruk (4hrs):
Itinerary
Day 1: London - Kathmandu: Flight from
London to Kathmandu.
Descend through a forest of wild flowers.
Visit the Annapurna Area Conservation
Project and the Gurung Museum and sheep
wool weaving workshop. Overnight camp in
Ghandruk (1952m).
Day 8: Ghandruk - Nayapool (6hrs):
Transfer Nayapool - Pokhara. Trail
descends on a stone staircase, then above
the river on paved lanes. Head through
Day 2: Kathmandu: Arrive Kathmandu in
the evening. Check into hotel for dinner and
briefing on the week ahead.
Day 3: Kathmandu - Pokhara: Internal flight
to Pokhara. Lunch at hotel. Rest of day free
to explore. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 4: Transfer Nayapool and trek Nayapool
- Hille (4hrs): Meet Sherpa trekking crew
and drive to Nayapool. Climb towards Hille,
via Mathathanti. Camp overnight in Hille
(1490m).
Day 5: Trek Hille - Deurali (8hrs): Set off
towards Tikedunga. Cross a waterfall
and head up to Banthanti via Ulleri. After
Banthanti we head through oak and
rhododendron forests to Deurali (2853m)
where we camp overnight.
Day 6: Climb Poon Hill, trek Deurali Tadapani (10hrs): Early morning to Poon
Hill, which provides a view of the high
terraced fields and a bridge over Sadhu
Khola, arriving in Shauli Bazaar. From
Shauli Bazaar, arrive at Nayapool. Drive
back to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.
Day 9: Pokhara - Kathmandu: Morning flight
to Kathmandu. Free time in Kathmandu
(lunch not included). Celebration dinner in
the evening. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: Kathmandu:Free day. Optional
The Appeal’s focus is four-stranded: specialist
medical equipment, research and education
programmes, patient home comforts and the arts
and gardens projects.
Our £10m appeal will enhance patient care to
make this world-class facility a leading force in the
early prevention, diagnosis, treatment and aftercare of this indiscriminate disease that still affects
one in three lives in the UK.

Overnight flight to London.
Day 11: Arrive London.
Notes: This is a complex itinerary and may be
subject to change. Distances/Journey times
are approximate. Itinerary can be reduced by 1
day, depending on flight schedules. However, it
is preferable to allow 1 full rest day before the
trek starts as per above. Costs can be reduced
slightly by taking a 5hr coach from Pokhara to
Kathmandu after the trek instead of a flight.
Costs: To register your place you will
need to make a personal contribution of
£350. The remaining minimum sponsorship
of £3,250 must reach YCC eight weeks
before you travel. This covers flights to
and from Kathmandu, professional tour
manager, tour doctor, experienced guides,
support staff, water and most meals. Not
included: personal travel insurance, airport
taxes, fuel surcharge, visa, optional tours,
spending money.

Fundraising: This can be daunting but
our small, dedicated, YCC fundraising team
are here to help you; to organise training
days where you will meet fellow trekkers;
open evenings to help you reach your
income target; support and encouragement
throughout your fitness and fundraising
regime.
Visa & Travel Insurance: British
citizen’s visa for Nepal is currently costs
£25. If you are not a British citizen please
contact us for advice. All participants
must have travel insurance which can be
arranged through your own insurers or
through our tour operator’s recommended
policy.
Travel Kit: Walking boots with ankle
support are strongly recommended. We
will send you a full packing list before
you travel. Your main luggage will be
transported ahead each day of the trek.
Weather: Between 25°C daytime and 7°C
Accommodation: Twin or triple share
in tourist class hotels and camping for 4
nights.
Age: All participants must be aged 18
or over on the date of travel. There is no
upper age limit but more mature trekkers
are advised to seek GP guidance before
undertaking the challenge.
Food and Drink: Nepalese cuisine is
healthy and extremely nourishing, plentiful
and tasty! Snacks and water are provided
throughout the trekking days.
