Your Wedding at the Frick Congratulations! This is an exciting time for you as you begin to plan the details of your wedding ceremony and reception. With elegance, sophistication and natural beauty, the Frick Art & Historical Center provides the perfect setting for your important event, whether intimate or grand. There is no more beautiful or romantic place to exchange vows or celebrate your wedding than the Frick’s unique complex of museums, historic buildings and landscaped grounds. Our preferred vendors will work with you to make your event a memorable one, designed with originality and style especially for you. It is our desire to accommodate your individual needs, and we will be as flexible as possible within our historical setting. Venues for Event Rental The Frick Art Museum and Its Terrace The Frick Art Museum is an intimately scaled museum displaying an exquisite permanent collection of Italian, French and British paintings, sculpture and decorative arts and hosting temporary exhibitions several times a year. The rotunda, with its elegant Italian marble floors and classical teak and mahogany columns, provides a spectacular setting for a small wedding ceremony, sit-down dinner or a larger cocktail reception. The 160-seat auditorium, adjacent to the rotunda, offers an interesting location for your wedding ceremony. Extend the celebration outdoors by adding a tent to the museum’s terrace overlooking Frick Park. Capacities and Rental Fees Rotunda—$500/hour Sit-Down Dinner: 55 Cocktail Reception: 150 (standing with some seating) Seated Ceremony: 75 Auditorium (included in rental) Seating capacity: 160 Terrace—$625/hour Tent required (20 ft. x 100 ft. maximum size) Sit Down Dinner: 125 Cocktail Reception: 200 (standing with some seating) Seated Ceremony: 200 To preserve and protect our museum and its collections, we have certain restrictions on events held inside the museum. Dancing, open flame, ice sculptures, flower petals, sparkles, confetti, mylar balloons, sequins, or similar types of substances are not permitted. Beverages permitted in art museum are limited to: Dry and sparkling white wines, including champagne Colorless spirits like vodka and gin Colorless mineral water (flat or sparkling) Colorless soft drinks like Sprite and 7-UP White grape juice and white cranberry juice Beer—Iron City, IC Light, Bud Light, Yuengling, Yuengling Light The Great Lawn of Clayton For larger wedding celebrations, consider the Great Lawn of Clayton with music and dancing in a tented setting on our gracious grounds, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and towering trees. Community Room- $500/hour Sit Down Dinner : 55 Cocktail Reception: 125 (standing with some seating) Covered Terrace facing Homewood Ave.- $350 /hour Community Center Courtyard- $625/hour Tent required (60 ft. x 40 ft. maximum size) Seated Ceremony: 250 Sit Down Dinner: 125 Cocktail Reception: 200 (standing with some seating) Discount when multiple venues are rented together : Terrace + Community Room $700/per hour Courtyard + Community Room $800/per hour All three venues: $850/per hour Additional Information Regarding Venue Rental The Frick is available for rental 6:00–11:00 p.m., seven days a week. Rental fees include secure parking for up to 75 vehicles. Venues are charged at a minimum of two hours and in increments of 30 minutes thereafter. Outdoor venues require tenting. Photography privileges are included in the venue rental rates, subject to the Frick’s photography guidelines. No photography is permitted in The Frick Art Museum galleries, Car and Carriage Museum (except for bridal party photographs) or Clayton. The site, including the first floor of Clayton, is accessible. Wheelchairs are available. The site is a completely tobacco and smoke-free property. Maximum totals may fluctuate based on vendor table and seating layout. Docent-Led and Self-Guided Tours for Your Guests Fee: $500/hour Clayton The turn-of-the-century residence of industrialist Henry Clay Frick, featured on A&E’s America’s Castles, is one of the nation’s most perfectly intact Victorian homes. Helen Clay Frick, Mr. Frick’s daughter, carefully preserved the magnificent paintings, decorative arts and furnishings of the home that have remained in Clayton since the Fricks were in residence over one hundred years ago. Car and Carriage Museum Curious visitors and automobile enthusiasts alike will take delight in our collection of vintage carriages and automobiles, including Henry Clay Frick’s magnificent 1914 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Touring Car. Venue rental. Two Frick staff members whose function is to protect Frick property and to be available to answer questions and assist in an emergency. We do not provide party planning or wedding planning services. Security staff. Restrooms in The Frick Art Museum, and in the Haller House administration building. The location of the restrooms you will use depends on the location of your event. Private parking in our secured lot, which includes 75 spaces and 5 handicap-accessible spaces. Water and electricity. Is the Frick accessible? Yes, all grounds, museums and restrooms are accessible with the exception of the second floor of Clayton and the public restrooms in the lower level of the Haller House administration building. We do, however, have an accessible restroom in this building at walkway level. Are wheelchairs available for guests’ use? Yes, there is a wheelchair located in each museum and at the Visitor Center. Please let us know in advance if wheelchairs will be needed. Is there an area for the bride to get dressed prior to the wedding ceremony? We do not have a specific area for this purpose. However, the bride and her bridesmaids can use the waiting room of the Visitor Center or the ladies’ restroom in The Frick Art Museum. Please let us know in advance if you would like to do this. May I use a caterer or equipment vendor other than those listed? No, we use these caterers and equipment vendor to assure that you are afforded quality customer service and products. Are guests permitted to take part in traditional wedding rituals like throwing rice at the bride and groom? We do not permit throwing birdseed or confetti, blowing bubbles, etc. at ceremonies or receptions. These types of materials cause damage to the grounds and could be hazardous to guests walking throughout the site. Is the use of candlelight permitted during ceremonies and receptions? We do not permit candlelight or open flame inside our buildings. Fireworks and any kind of sparklers are prohibited due to the potential fire hazard to grounds, buildings, museums, and guests. Outdoor candle arrangements are permitted but must have fire retardant globes. Does the Frick provide kitchen facilities with catering equipment and refrigeration? No. All equipment must be rented by the caterer or the client from Party Savvy. Are large floral arrangements, trellises and chuppas permitted at the Frick? Yes, as long as they comply with floral guidelines provided to each client and florist. Does the Frick provide audio-visual equipment? No. Clients must contact a professional audio-visual company to provide this equipment and these services. Arrangements and costs for this equipment and services are the responsibility of the client and must be approved by the Frick in advance of the event. What are the rental client’s responsibilities? Tenting for outdoor events. All catering services including wait staff and bar staff. All equipment and supplies including tables, chairs, glassware, linen and cooking items, which are rented from Party Savvy, our equipment supplier. Outside vendor purchases and services including flowers, photography, musicians, bakery, etc. Event planner or coordinator. You must designate a “go to” person in your party for the day of your event. This person may be a hired professional, family member, friend, yourself, or anyone who you designate
