INFORMATION GUIDE
The Dallas Cowboys are excited about hosting a Dallas Cowboys Play 60

Please read the enclosed information carefully to ensure that you understand
the cooperative elements of the program and your organization’s
responsibilities in regards to their implementation.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Whitney
Brandon at 972-497-4955 or wbrandon@dallascowboys.net.
We thank you for your interest and look forward to working with you and your
youth to get up and get active!
WHAT IS JTC & HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Dallas Cowboys Play 60 Gatorade Junior Training Camp (JTC) is a complimentary, grassroots
football clinic facilitated by the Dallas Cowboys for elementary school students (both boys and girls)
between the ages of 7 and 14 years.
JTC features the educational and recreational benefits of football presented in a safe and fun
environment. For more than a decade, this program has been successful in Dallas, Irving, Arlington,
Coppell, Frisco and other area school districts.
The curriculum of JTC is very safe and was developed by Gatorade so that ANY student can participate
– regardless of age, gender, ability or experience. The purpose of JTC is to emphasize the fun of
physical activity, instead of winning.
JTC is a cooperative outreach program – the Dallas Cowboys JTC staff bring all of the necessary
equipment and help YOUR SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS facilitate the program on-site.
The success of your organization’s JTC depends entirely on your own leadership and volunteer
interaction with the participating youth.
Your organization’s contact person is responsible for recruiting at least six (6) volunteers to assist the
JTC staff with event implementation. Each volunteer will be assigned to one of the camp’s football
drills or stations. The volunteers DO NOT need to be athletically inclined to conduct the assigned
stations – they just need to have the ability to follow instructions, encourage the student participants
and work with our staff to rotate the groups through the time period.
Please note that this program does not involve Dallas Cowboys players, coaches or cheerleaders.
A PROGRAM OF
REQUIREMENTS
Each participating school or organization must meet the following requirements in order
host a JTC at their facility.
• Each child MUST turn in a liability release waiver signed by a parent of guardian in order to
participate. Children will not be allowed to participate in the clinic without a waiver on file. No
exceptions will be made. Please allow ample time to distribute and collect the signed waivers
from each child before the event.
• Each school or organization must provide a minimum of six (6) volunteers to assist the JTC
staff with the clinic stations. Please note that if there are not a minimum of six (6) volunteers
assigned to the clinic upon the JTC staff’s arrival, the program unfortunately will not proceed.
• Each location must have a safe playing field with enough space to accommodate the clinic
stations and students – approximately 20 yards x 20 yards, is the minimum. No clinic will be
conducted on tar cement, concrete or hard surface.
• Volunteers must be able to meet with the JTC staff upon their arrival at the school to assist
with set up and receive instruction on the stations.
• Each school is required to provide a table for the Gatorade station, as well as a garbage can for
trash.
• The indoor portion of the program should take place in a gymnasium, auditorium or cafeteria
large enough to hold the student participants and volunteers. A microphone or speaker system
will be required for this motivational speech which involves JTC staff and mascot Rowdy.
• All equipment needed to conduct the camp including cones, blocking dummies, footballs,
Gatorade product, coolers and cups will be provided by the JTC staff and must be returned to
the JTC coordinator at the end of the program.
