New High Performance ETFEs for Fuel Lines Provide Superior
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New High Performance ETFEs for Fuel Lines Provide Superior Chemical Barrier and Outstanding Conductivity AGC introduces new Fluon® adhesive ETFEs at ITB Automotive Energy Storage Systems Conference EXTON, Pa., March 2, 2015 – AGC Chemicals Americas Inc. will introduce its new line of Fluon® AH-ETFE compounds for the automotive industry at the ITB Automotive Energy Storage Systems Conference, March 4-5 in Novi, Michigan. Fluon ETFE AH-600, 700 and 800 series of products are ideal for constructions that require unsurpassed conductivity levels, chemical resistance, permeation resistance and protection against static build-up. When manufactured with Fluon AH-ETFE, fuel system components such as liquid lines, vapor lines, fuel tanks and filler necks exhibit outstanding performance in any construction. Fluon ETFE is a melt processable copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and ethylene. The AH600 series produces a lower melting compound that offers customers a wider process window and better compatibility with polyimide nylons for co-extrusion. The AH-700 series of products balances performance and economics. The AH-800 series of products has a higher upper-end temperature rating (approaching 200°C) and improved resistance to stress cracks at elevated temperatures. “We are pleased to provide customers with this next generation of adhesive compounds that contribute to improved performance, extended life and exceptional mechanical strength,” said Drew D’Agosta, senior business manager at AGC Chemicals Americas. “These products come from a history of material science solutions with proven results. The target market for these products is not only automotive applications, but chemical or industrial operations as well.” -more- About the ITB Group The ITB Group develops actionable solutions for a variety of clients in the global automotive marketplace including suppliers, OEMs and investment bankers.
