Each September, similar events take place in over 50 countries and over 20 million visits are recorded annually. In Renfrewshire, we will welcome some old favourites including: Renfrew Town Hall, Paisley Abbey, Walking Tours on Wheels, RSPB Lochwinnoch, Houston and Killellan Kirk, Johnstone History Museum, Inchinnan Parish Church and On-X. We are also happy to introduce you to some new kids on the block; the Scottish Ambulance Service, Erskine Allotments and St Machar’s Ranfurly Church. Children’s Passport You are joining millions of people visiting thousands of buildings all over Europe and beyond! This year’s passport is available from all participating buildings and libraries and will be sent to all Renfrewshire primary schools. Adult_Doors_Open_Day_2016.indd 5 This is a quaint Gothic church with a belfry and spire. The carved winged animals on the belfry and the austere Art Nouveau stained glass in the vestibule are of particular note. This is a category ‘C’ listed building. 10/08/2016 15:19 Adult_Doors_Open_Day_2016.indd 6 10/08/2016 15:19 Paisley Anchor Mill 7 Thread Street, Paisley, PA1 1JR SAT: 10.00-16.00 Woodhouse and Morley, 1886 The Anchor Mill stands as a proud reminder of Paisley’s great industrial heritage.
