Thank you to all of our kind donors and volunteers who help make building girls of courage, confidence, and character possible! With the delightfully warm weather here, there is no shortage of fun at GSWNY’s Summer Camps. Girls enjoyed programs like “Through the Looking Glass” where girls embarked on a fun-filled scavenger hunt, played croquet with the Queen of Hearts, and “Adventures in the Trees” where girls challenged Continued on page 2 1 CEO Remarks - Continued from page 1 their skills on the high course elements and more. GSWNY Summer Camp provides girls with the exciting and nurturing environment needed to take risks, move beyond their comfort zones, and create life-long friendships – a great tradition, indeed. I am proud that on June 4, 2016, we honored 60 amazing young women who earned the highly esteemed Gold Award on the Centennial of the Gold Award. It was an honor to celebrate the 100th Anniversary in style at our Gold Award banquet with scholarship and award presentations, fun selfies, a “Gold Carpet,” Gold streamers, and more! 2016 Gold Awardees served greater than 4,800 volunteer hours to earn the Gold Award. Congratulations again ladies on the continued positive impact that you will make in your communities and the world! In closing, I invite you to witness our Girl Scouts’ leadership and volunteerism skills in action and join me for the 2016 Women of Distinction on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Kleinhans Music Hall, Buffalo, NY. All currently registered (Membership Year 2016) families and volunteers were sent an email with instructions to set up a profile in the new system. Families and volunteers who did not receive an email please check your spam folder or contact 1-888-837-6410 to receive assistance. Once you have set up your profile, you can log into your account through the new “MY GS” tab on our GSWNY homepage. Troop Co-Leaders can also now access the Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) which is a digital tool that helps with year plans and communication with troop members and parents. You can learn more about using the VTK by checking out the VTK Youtube video series online (search “Volunteer Toolkit Youtube”). Thank you to all of our members for your patience as we continue our transition to CEI. We look forward to sharing more enhancements such as our new upcoming Customer Care line in the fall.
