These exciting classes are an excellent way for
your child to meet new friends and experience
the natural world. Only children registered for
the class will be permitted to attend– no siblings
or parents. If you would like to attend a class
with your child, we encourage you to register
for an overnight sleepover program. If your
child has special needs and requires an aide
to accompany him or her, a current copy of the
aide’s 33 & 34 clearances are required.

Classes for a Child with an Adult
These classes allow children and adults to explore the wonders of wildlife through unique programs that incorporate live
animals, biofacts, and crafts. Please note the age requirements for each class; only those of appropriate age will be admitted. Only children

and close encounters with our education animals will bring this class to life.
Teen Program: Pizza with the Keepers

$22 per student (includes pizza, soda, admission, and behind the scenes tours)

Join some of our animal care staff for lunch and find out what it’s really like
to work at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. You’ll have the opportunity
to talk with keepers/aquarists from many areas of the Zoo, such as Kids
Kingdom, reptiles, cats, primates, and the PPG Aquarium. Behind-the-scenes
tours will be conducted by our Conservation Education staff following lunch.

October 3 When I grow up…
Have you ever said, “When I grow up, I want to care for animals”?
Join us for a fun-filled evening as we explore the Zoo’s Working
Wild exhibit and learn what it takes to be a zookeeper, veterinarian,
researcher, or even a zoo director. Who knows, maybe when you
grow up you’ll be in charge of the Zoo.
November 15 Adventures in the Amazon
Explore the beauty of the world’s largest rainforest as we take an
imaginary trip through the Amazon. Up close encounters with animals
and a special tour will make this night one you will always remember.
Adult Lecture: Day in the Life of a Zoo Vet

December 12 Frozen Friends
Join us on an adventure to learn just how our frozen friends survive the
chill of winter. We’ll visit polar bears and sea otters, and learn about
special adaptations that make life possible in their frigid environments.
Let these awesome animals melt your heart.
Keeping all the Zoo animals healthy is an enormous and challenging
task. Find out what a day in the life of Dr. Ginger Sturgeon, Director of
Animal Health, is like. You will get a special tour of the state-of-the-art
new Animal Care Center. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is
online only at pittsburghzoo.org.

Registration is by mail or online only. Mail registration
with payment to:
1.Class sizes are strictly limited. Please send your
registration as soon as possible.
2.Complete the entire registration form. Please use
class codes and print legibly. Incomplete forms will
delay processing. If you are a member, be sure to
include your membership number to expedite the
registration process.
3.Send your completed registration form with a
check made payable to Zoological Society of
Pittsburgh. If you would like to pay by credit card,
please attach a separate piece of paper with the
credit card number, expiration date, and the card
holder’s name as it appears on the card.
4.PPG employees should use the Zoo Member
discount. List your PPG identification number below.
8.Refunds will be issued only if the program is filled or
cancelled. If you need to reschedule, please contact
us. If you are unable to reschedule, you can request
a credit voucher for the cost of the class, less a $4
fee for processing. The voucher can be redeemed for
future Wildlife Academy classes.
