The Perfect Club for the Car Enthusiast CABOOLTURE REGIONAL CAR CLUB INC Tappet September 2015 WWW.CRCC.COM.AU Chatter The official newsletter of the Caboolture Regional Car Club Inc The Perfect Club for the Car Enthusiast Regis Canning Aged Care, 13 Sep 15 …. A few days before the event, attendance was looking a bit sparse, but on the day, the roll-up was somewhat enlightening. Although not totally sure on the numbers, there would have been around 10 cars and perhaps 20 people. After some social interaction at BP North, the group head-up the freeway at the scheduled time of 9:30am arriving at Regis in Mewitt Street shortly thereafter. Unlike the previous visit in August 2014 where the parking area at Regis was barricaded-off for club members cars, this didn’t occur and there was some confusion and congestion on arrival, but it all got sorted-out. After signing-in, club members were treated to a splendid morning tea after which the residents of Regis were taken-out to view the cars. Apart from Ron Gooda’s Chev suffering a coolant leak and requiring on-site maintenance at Regis, the run and visit to Regis was a great social gathering on a beautiful Sunday morning. Next Club Run ~ Bowdens @ Buderim …. Sunday 20th September. Meet BP North at 8:00am for a 8:30am departure. Run organiser, ‘Sir’ Dennis Seidel. Tappet Chatter SEPTEMBER 2015 Page 9 Bowdens Run, 20 Sept 2015 …. For those who have not attended Bowdens, it’s definitely a worthwhile visit. Unlike most museums where you wander about at your leisure and pace, host, Dan Bowden, puts-on a very informative, and sometimes humourous commentary, as he describes each individual car and its place in Australian racing history. Bowden’s story begins with a love affair, its starting of collecting historic Australian racing cars from back in 1973, when David Bowden bought the first car for the collection – the notorious Ford GTHO Phase IV. Since then, the Bowden family have dedicated their blood, sweat and tears to restoring and maintaining these vital pieces of Australian motor racing history. The car collection has grown to over 70 cars that are housed mostly located on Bowdens Sunshine Coast property, as well as a few museums and showrooms throughout Australia. Let’s support Bowdens and the Caboolture Regional Car club by attending this run on Sunday 20th September. Meet BP South at 7:00am for a 7:00am departure. $30.00 PP.
