Wildix FXO White Paper ENG
WILDIX PRESENTS W04FXO. Wildix presents the new Gateway W04FXO, a useful instrument introducing innovative features of Wildix systems to any analog PBX. With this product you can activate, for instance, a FAX Server or enhance some users with the resources provided by the Unified Communications without replacing the old PBX entirely. The new Wildix Gateway is compatible with any analog PBX and has 4 lines, any of which can manage the incoming and the outgoing calls and the feature of Flash Hook. The intervention of the W04FXO installation is negligible, since it does not influence the architecture of the PBX in use and is configured in auto provisioning, or in auto installation mode, to guarantee the maximum precision in the operation. A versatile and useful tool that allows to redevelop the company communications, improving not only the objective communication, but also the interaction between the people (colleagues, clients or partners), strengthening the teamwork and improving the company image in the eyes of the clients. The new FXO introduces many innovative features employing unused analog derivatives. It's useful in the situations when the budget does not allow to substitute completely the analog PBX. Note: For these and other features the W04FXO should be upgraded. W04FXO comes into action! Push the limits of the old PBX, introducing advanced services The following example illustrates how to enable some advanced services on an analog system. You can use: 1. the IVR Interactive Voice Response service (POA Automatic Post Operator) with multiply choices; 2. automatic FAX Server with forwarding and receiving via email; 3. a courtesy service at night / during the holidays, activated according to the timetable. The technicians, based on these examples and thanks to the Wildix education, would have the possibility to activate many other services, depending on the client's needs. Creation of the IVR The new Gateway allows to create an IVR. For instance, a company needs to manage 3 call groups: administration (user 100), commercial group (101) and Technical Support (102). An incoming call is received by W04FXO and sent to the IVR of the Wildix PBX. When the client chooses the desired user, the Gateway sends the call to the analog PBX and then, to the user, using the same line employed for the receiving. When the operation ends, the line becomes free to manage other calls. W04FXO is connected to 4 analog users of the old PBX; The old PBX receives the call from the public network and sends it to the group consisting of 4 analog ports connected to the W04FXO; The IVR function is performed; Based on the choice of the user, the call is routed to the Call Group (or a user) defined on the old PBX; 1. To realize this scenario, you should create 3 dialplan procedures that will be addressed by choice in IVR: Administration, Commercial and Support. Create 3 empty procedures. 2. create the IVR (in our example it's called “Welcome”) which can send the call to the associated procedure, by the choice of the user. 3. configure the FXO gateway, enabling the needed lines, inserting the users assigned to the lines provided by the analog PBX and indicating the tones to use for the connection to the analog PBX (Matra in an example). 4. modify the main procedure of the Dialplan (the one to be used by FXO) configure the created procedures to route the call to the analog PBX, in such a way only one line is used for the call: the call should be answered, put on hold (Generate Flash Hook), sent to the desired analog user (Generate DTMF) and hang up. Note: to introduce a delay between sending one DTMF and another one, use w (wait) which represents a pause of 0,5 seconds. Introduction of FAX Server The company wants to provide the Server ecoFAX service to its clients. Install W04FXO on the analog PBX and use IP technologies to manage the flow of faxes. The PBX, thanks to the feature "Detect FAX" can recognize the incoming call as fax or voice. The fax is sent to the addressee in the form of an email, while the voice call is managed normally, through the transfer to the post operator, freeing the line for handling more traffic. 1. Configure the main procedure in such a way that the calls are handled based on the line from which they come. If the call arrives from the first analog line (110), and it's not a fax, the Gateway routes the call to the analog user 100 if the call comes from the second line (111) the company fax server answers Create a Timetable Thanks to W04FXO the flow of the calls can be managed by the Wildix PBX Timetable, based on the parameters chosen by the company. For example, it's possible to direct the incoming calls to the user only during the determined timetable, and at other time (for instance, at night), play a courtesy message. With the new W04FXO you can use all the advantages offered by Wildix telephony with minimal intervention into an analog PBX. 1. Create a new timetable Day that is verified from 8.00 to 19.00. If the call comes within this timetable, it's forwarded to an analog user 100, otherwise the courtesy message is played: Increase the capabilities of the users, introducing advanced services This example illustrates how to increase the operational capabilities of some users of the analog system. You can introduce: an advanced service of the customers' reception mobility service and Voicemail Clients reception The incoming calls are received by the Gateway and routed to the Call Group with the music on hold, the call is picked up by the first user who can answer. If no operator picks up the call (after the Timeout), the Gateway uses the same channel to transfer the call again to the analog PBX. As soon as the operation is over, the line is free and ready to handle other calls. 1. create the Call Group with 5 operators to receive the calls. Note: The calls should be received by the users who are not occupied in another conversation. The callers on hold are informed about their position in the queue every 30 seconds. The system verifies every 15 seconds the availability of the free operators. 1. configure the Main procedure in such a way that the call goes to the Call Group and after the Timeout (of 180 seconds, for example), it is routed to the analog user 100. Mobility The users that use the lines of W04FXO, for instance the sales department, are often on the move, and they can receive a call to an IP phone while in the office, and a concurrent call to their mobile device, wherever they are at the moment. In case the user fails to respond within a specified time period, the call is transferred to a voicemail, to minimize the possibility of losing the calls. 1. add a mobile phone number in the card of the contact. 2. in the preferences, enable the feature Mobile Extension. As an option you can also enable the feature Confirm Mobility to inform the user who is contacting him. 3. To enable the Voicemail, select the feature Voicemail. The call is forwarded to the voicemail of the user if he doesn't respond within a Timeout (for instance, 60 seconds). Lost calls are notified via an email or an SMS. How to integrate an analog PBX into the WMS Network You can integrate into your multi-location company, a branch with an analog PBX, by creating a WMS Network. Wildix 04FXO allows you to connect in a corporate network the offices deprived of the VoIP PBX, enabling the dialog between all the users from different locations, increasing and facilitating the communication activities of the users. 1. Configure the procedure associated to the W04FXO Gateway (in our example, main) that plays a message to an operator (while calling through the analog PBX) inviting him to insert the number of the desired user of the WMS Network. 2. set up as a user called XXX (any number of 3 digits) and add a function "Dial the phone" that reaches any user of the WMS Network. Note: [2-4]XX indicates that the users of the WMS Network that you can dial, have the numeration of the type 2XX - 3XX - 4XX (as on the image of the WMS Network). 1. create a hunt group containing 4 FXO lines and set up every line to support only one call at a time. 2. modify the Users procedure associated to the users of the WMS Network, by setting 1XX as a called number, to be able to contact the analog users, through the created hunt group
