The summer season has arrived, bringing outstanding course conditions
for all to enjoy. Our couples hit the links again on Saturday, June 11th for
an entertaining evening of golf before returning to Featherstone's Grille for
the Mexican Buffet night. Our LGA ladies head out onto the course
Saturday, June 18th for an enjoyable 18 hole morning team event. Pease
make plans to be part of the fun.
The Men's Member/Member
tournament is one of our most popular events of the year and will finish
out a busy month with play on June 25th and 26th.
Etiquette Reminder: Please make sure to leave the golf course looking
better than you find it. Sanding divots, repairing ball marks, raking
bunkers and picking up trash/broken tees throughout your round are
all time honored traditions of the game and will go a long way to help our
club continue to stand above the rest. We all need to do our part in
keeping the course in exceptional condition for the enjoyment of all who
take pride in calling BridgeMill Athletic Club home.
Book your tee time to get out and enjoy this beautiful course. There are
many ways to reserve your spot, call the Golf Shop 770-345-5500 ext. 1,
www.bridgemillathleticclub.com, or use our mobile app from the app
store, just search for “want tee times.”

“Our
Goal is to Help You Enjoy Your Golf More”
Tips From The Pro
Putt Intuitively and Instinctively
I was recently able to connect with my old friend Larry Rinker. Larry
and I played junior golf together many years ago. Mostly because of an
outstanding short game, Larry played the tour for a long time. So let
me tell you what Larry had to say about putting. Most people are way
too mechanical and if they actually tap into their instincts and intuition
about putting and then trust those instincts and intuition Larry believes
they would putt much better. I happen to agree fully. After all, putting
is just rolling a ball toward a hole. Anyone can roll a ball to a hole if
they don’t over think it.
So remember: Intuitively and Instinctually
I promise you will putt better!
Hope to see you soon.

The new Nike and Ping clubs are really

Congratulations to Chris Chattin who was the big winner today. Chris had a score of +10 which included 4
birdies. But unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who you talk to), only one of Chris’ birdies held. The
other birdies on 4, 8 and 18 were all cut. Second place went to Paul Terry at +9. Paul also had 4 birdies on the
day on holes 1, 4, 7 and 13 but had slightly better skins luck than Chris did since 2 of his birdies held up for the
only other two skins. The other birdies on 4, 8 and 18 were all cut. Second place went to Paul Terry at +9. Paul
also had 4 birdies on the day on holes 1, 4, 7 and 13 but had slightly better skins luck than Chris did since 2 of his
birdies held up for the only other two skins. The third place winner was Clay Stokes at +7. Clay had birdies on 3
and 17. Rounding out the winners were Lincoln Lahmann at +5, Don Robinson, Rob Szuba, Barry White, Scott
Dunnington and Don Humphrey all at +4. Rounding out the winners list and receiving a 2 point quota adjustment
was Jim Masdea at +3.
MGA Master’s
On April 23rd and 24th, the MGA had their first Major of the year, The MGA Masters. Congratulations to

Tim Ligon with a net score of 12 under, 60. Mr. Campbell also had an ace on day 1 on hole 5. Great job
Justin and Tim. Full results posted to the right.

The USGA has updated the rule regarding a ball moved after a player has addressed
the ball. Now you are only penalized if it's more than likely than not that you caused
your ball to move after you have addressed it (Rule 18-2). Previously, a player was
penalized if the ball moved regardless of whether you had caused it to move

the ladies enjoyed a delicious lunch of chicken salad and fruit presented by Chef Elliot. This tournament was
sponsored by Molly McGrory of Town and Country Realty. If you own your own business and would be interested
in sponsoring one of our tournaments, please contact Kelly Cook at hcook6333@aol.com
If you would like to join in these fun events, just go to our website: www.bmaclga.com, download the

BridgeMill Sixes Service League
Summer is upon us and there will be no meetings for the BSSL in June or July instead we will stay very busy
with the MUST Summer Lunch Program where members, family and friends get together and make lunches
for Cherokee County kids who would otherwise have no lunch when school is out. Our Summer Lunch
Program is a perfect opportunity to introduce your children to the importance of community service. We meet
at various times and dates throughout the month. If you would like to join us please contact Susan Gaines at:
susan2020@aol.com Closer to the start of the school year.
The BSSL will assemble hygiene bags for school children through the Give A Kid A Chance (GAKAC) Program.
GAKAC is a program designed to help children in Cherokee County start each new school year on the right
foot by providing clothing, medical screening and school supplies. With the combined efforts of more than 40
churches, ministries, civic groups and businesses, GAKAC has helped 19,000 students get ready for a new
school year. www.giveakidachance.org. Last month our BridgeMill Sixes Service League’s Relay for Life team
raised $10,000.00 to help cancer patients and their families affected by cancer. Relay for Life of Cherokee
County is a community event that raises funds for The American Cancer Society. The money raised at this
event provides communities with education, research, and patient services. If you or a loved one are dealing
with a cancer diagnosis and need support please call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345 or go
to www.cancer.org.
Being a part of many worthwhile causes is very rewarding, but our members also enjoy the many social
outlets available to them such as book club, Bunco, and our ladies dining out events! We always welcome
new members! Please see our website about membership and our latest news at: www.bssl.org or contact
league president Susan Gaines at: susan2020@aol.com.
Summer has arrived and ivacation time for many. If you are making plans to go out of town, please make sure to
lock up your homes and keep your yards in check while you are away. For those staying in the area, please
remember that boats and/or jet skis are not to be stored on the property at any time. As for vehicles in general,
many residents have asked that we remind everyone to reduce their speed. Some streets have heavier slopes
and rather gruesome blind spots, and we support this reminder as many accidents can be prevented by
responsible driving.
BridgeMill has made some new changes to its website at www.bridgemill.org. You can now obtain the Balance
Sheet & Income Statement in the Documents tab, as well as the Newsletter and Agenda for each month. Please
bear in mind that posted Agendas are tentative, and may have a few additional items added the week of the
meeting as needed. As always, your account statements are available in Heritage Edge, where your Covenants,
Certificate of Insurance, Balance Sheet & Income Statements, Newsletters, and Meeting Minutes are available
24/7 to you. You will not be able to access your account from the BridgeMill website, so we do recommend that
you make a Heritage Edge account by following the instructions located in the Frequently Asked Questions tab
(FAQs) on www.bridgemill.org.
