The highest bidder of each lot shall be the buyer thereof. In the
event of any dispute, the auctioneer shall have absolute discretion
to determine the dispute and may put up again and re-sell the
disputed lot.
The auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to divide any lot, to
combine any two or more lots, or to withdraw lots from the sale
without giving any reason. The bidding shall be regulated at the
absolute discretion of the auctioneer who shall have the right to
refuse any bid/s.
All lots are put up for sale subject to any reserve price that may be
imposed by the seller.
Bidding commissions for anyone unable to attend the auction in
person may be carried out by the auctioneer without charge, but
“buy” commissions will only be accepted if the auctioneer is given
absolute discretion.
The buyer of any lot shall immediately notify his name and address
to the auctioneer and if required,
(A) provide bank or other credit references; and
(B) pay the full purchase price, or a fractional deposit as may be
determined at the discretion of the auctioneer.
Lots are sold as shown with all faults, imperfections and errors of
description. Neither the auctioneer nor the seller shall give
warranty to any buyer in respect of any lot, or be liable for any fault
or error of description. All statements as to the items sold, whether
made in catalogues, during the course of the auction, or otherwise,
are statements of opinion only, and are not and shall not be taken to
be statements or representations of fact. The auctioneer reserves
the right in forming his opinion, to consult and rely upon any expert
or authority considered by him reliable. Notwithstanding the
forgoing, if any lot should have been wrongly described in any

material aspect, the buyer may reject the same, provided that he
shall have given notice of intention to do so and shall have returned
the same to the auctioneer within seven (7) days from the day of the
sale. Under no circumstances will the auctioneer be liable for any
costs, expenses or damages incurred by the buyer in respect of any
lot, including, but not limited to, loss of any kind of profit whatsoever.
Bidders are advised to scrutinize the lots they bid for.
The auctioneer acts solely as an agent and shall not be responsible
for any default by either the buyer or the seller or for any action or
claim which may arise in respect of any lot.
Buyers must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of their
purchases at the time of delivery. The auctioneer cannot be held
responsible for any discrepancy which might be discovered after
the lots have been removed from either the action room or the
auctioneer's premises.
The auctioneer will not hold himself responsible for the safe
custody of any lots left for more than seven (7) working days after
the date of sale, and reserves the right to charge storage and re-sell
by auction or privately, and without notice to the buyer, any lots not
removed from his premises within fourteen (14) days from the date
of sale. Buyers shall not be entitled to remove lots from the auction
room during the course of the auction.
Each lot shall be at the buyer's risk from the fall of the hammer.
Any part of the purchase price left outstanding after the action
pursuant to Condition 5, shall be paid in full within seven (7) days of
the date of auction. Without prejudice to any rights, the auctioneer
reserves the right to charge interest on any overdue payment at the
rate of 2 ½ % per month.
A “Buyer's Premium” of 14.05 % (including Service Tax) is
charged on the Hammer Price.
By making a bid the buyer acknowledges his acceptance of these
Conditions and shall be bound by them.
These Conditions shall take effect and be construed in accordance
with Indian law.
Estimates: The estimate figures below each lot are the auctioneer's
estimation of an expected price only. These estimates are not
representative of a reserve price and are published only as a guide
to buyers. Bidders may bid within the estimate or above the
estimate, however, bids which are less than the low estimate will
not be considered by the auctioneer.

P. P. Kulkarni attruibuted this coins as a city state of Bhadaravti near Chandrapur in Vidarbha but many copper coins found from Balapur near Akola

Chandra Gupta II or 'III', Gold Dinar, 8.69 g, 'Archer' type, Obv: nimbate king, standing in Tribhanga posture, holding bow and arrow
in separate hands. Garuda banner behind the hand that holds the arrow; Brahmi legend Chandra below the hand holding the bow and
a symbol of fire altar to the left of the king's head, Rev: Goddess Lakshmi seated on lotus, Brahmi legend Shri Vikrama in the right field
(Altekar Class II, var. O, Pl. V, no. 17). Extremely fine, very rare.
Altekar, and following him P L Gupta, were both uncertain of the placement of the issuer of this heavy type of Dinars. Altekar voiced a theory, given
the similarities in weight, fabric and symbolism, that the 'Chandra' who struck these coins might be a distinct ruler than Chandra Gupta II. P L Gupta
further commented that these are issues of a later king and he should be regarded as Chandra Gupta III.

A very rare ruler as compared to Prasannamatra of the Sharabhapurias. It is suggested by A M Shastri that these coins were struck by Narendra, the
Sharabhapuriya king, nominally acknowledging the Gupta emperor Kumaragupta III.

composed on lines and dots resembling a holy 'Mandala' or 'Yantra', Rev: crude imitation of a Kufic (Arabic) legend copied from Islamic
Umayyad/Abbasid Dinar. Not listed in major publications on South Indian currency systems. Very fine, very rare.
The occurrence of a pseudo-Arabic inscription is an interesting feature of this coin. Trade in Arabian horses was a main feature of maritime networks
between the Arabian Peninsula and India's western coast.

ornamental eight-petal lotus, Rev: plain, except four small punch-marks of Conch symbol and two more indentations, perhaps
remnant of an abandoned attempt to pierce the coin to be employed in jewellery. Not listed in major publications on South Indian

obliterated because of a die-shift, but Rajendra Prithivi fairly legible, unlisted in major publications. Extremely fine, extremely rare.
Very few coins of the Kongalva chiefs are in existence – one was published by S. Govindaraya Prabhu. This is perhaps the best
preserved specimen known to date.

the Bhonslas remain the best contenders but if it is a pseudo-mint name, i.e. the coins are struck at a place further North into the British realms they
could well be East India Company issues. However, more proof is needed to substantiate this position.

otherwise about uncirculated, very rare.
These mohur's were published by Jan Lingenin JONS No 202. According to him, they were struck to celebrate the wedding of Maharaj Kumari of
Karauli to the Rao Raja of Bundi, Bishen Singh (Maharaja of Bundi from 1804-1821), in 1785. It is likely that the coins were distributed as a 'good
luck' objects to the attendees. As such the coins were made into jewellery. Most coins of this kind recently surfaced on the market have the mount
removed. This one, however, retains it and it adds considerably to the originality of the object.

This issue is said to have been struck under authority of a Captain Scott of Tanjore after the British captured Negapatam in 1781. They thus became
known as "Scott's Pagoda" or Iskat-Pagoda. The obverse crude representation of a single standing deity is derived from the Negapatam issues of
the Dutch struck after 1662, which in itself is derived from a Vijayanagar prototype. Pridmore did not recognise the type but is known as the IskatPagoda. Some scholars believe this coins strucked by Travancore King Martand Varma.

The highest bidder of each lot shall be the buyer thereof. In the
event of any dispute, the auctioneer shall have absolute discretion
to determine the dispute and may put up again and re-sell the
disputed lot.
The auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to divide any lot, to
combine any two or more lots, or to withdraw lots from the sale
without giving any reason. The bidding shall be regulated at the
absolute discretion of the auctioneer who shall have the right to
refuse any bid/s.
All lots are put up for sale subject to any reserve price that may be
imposed by the seller.
Bidding commissions for anyone unable to attend the auction in
person may be carried out by the auctioneer without charge, but
“buy” commissions will only be accepted if the auctioneer is given
absolute discretion.
The buyer of any lot shall immediately notify his name and address
to the auctioneer and if required,
(A) provide bank or other credit references; and
(B) pay the full purchase price, or a fractional deposit as may be
determined at the discretion of the auctioneer.
Lots are sold as shown with all faults, imperfections and errors of
description. Neither the auctioneer nor the seller shall give
warranty to any buyer in respect of any lot, or be liable for any fault
or error of description. All statements as to the items sold, whether
made in catalogues, during the course of the auction, or otherwise,
are statements of opinion only, and are not and shall not be taken to
be statements or representations of fact. The auctioneer reserves
the right in forming his opinion, to consult and rely upon any expert
or authority considered by him reliable. Notwithstanding the

material aspect, the buyer may reject the same, provided that he
shall have given notice of intention to do so and shall have returned
the same to the auctioneer within seven (7) days from the day of the
sale. Under no circumstances will the auctioneer be liable for any
costs, expenses or damages incurred by the buyer in respect of any
lot, including, but not limited to, loss of any kind of profit whatsoever.
Bidders are advised to scrutinize the lots they bid for.
The auctioneer acts solely as an agent and shall not be responsible
for any default by either the buyer or the seller or for any action or
claim which may arise in respect of any lot.
Buyers must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of their
purchases at the time of delivery. The auctioneer cannot be held
responsible for any discrepancy which might be discovered after
the lots have been removed from either the action room or the
auctioneer's premises.
The auctioneer will not hold himself responsible for the safe
custody of any lots left for more than seven (7) working days after
the date of sale, and reserves the right to charge storage and re-sell
by auction or privately, and without notice to the buyer, any lots not
removed from his premises within fourteen (14) days from the date
of sale. Buyers shall not be entitled to remove lots from the auction
room during the course of the auction.
Each lot shall be at the buyer's risk from the fall of the hammer.
Any part of the purchase price left outstanding after the action
pursuant to Condition 5, shall be paid in full within seven (7) days of
the date of auction. Without prejudice to any rights, the auctioneer
reserves the right to charge interest on any overdue payment at the
rate of 2 ½ % per month.
A “Buyer's Premium” of 14.05 % (including Service Tax) is
charged on the Hammer Price.
By making a bid the buyer acknowledges his acceptance of these
Conditions and shall be bound by them.
These Conditions shall take effect and be construed in accordance
with Indian law.

estimation of an expected price only. These estimates are not
representative of a reserve price and are published only as a guide
