If this weren’t enough, there are also several extra Handmade Destinations which are ideal for long or short breaks. Our new all-inclusive skiing holiday prices offer fantastic value. All packages now include return flights, overseas transfers, chalet full-board, ski hire, boot hire, lift pass and, in many of our hotels and chalets, free bars. It is a dynamic resort made up of several villages set in the wooded Guisane valley in the southern French Alps. Each village is different – some are traditional, some modern – but all share the same ski area, a massive 250km of varied piste, which is the fourth-largest in France. Skitopia is based in Villeneuve (otherwise known as Serre Chevalier 1400) and Monetier-Les-Bains (Serre Chevalier 1500). Villeneuve, where old meets new, provides all the facilities and comforts we have come to expect of a modern resort, but teams it with the unique charm of 12th-century France. Monetier, a pretty spa village, is the highest resort in the area and remains resolutely unspoilt. To add even more value to your lift pass, there’s a ski bus that runs a very efficient service all around the valley, allowing you to begin and end your day’s skiing wherever you like. Most of the rooms are twin-bedded and have en-suite facilities; family rooms and apartment-style rooms are also available. We have an in-house ski-tech to ensure that you are expertly kitted out before you head up the mountain, and a free bar – yes, it really is as good as it sounds! The bar is available from 5 to 11pm. If you feel in need of further pampering, you can take advantage of a range of nearby amenities, including a public swimming pool and health spa. Hotel Rif Blanc ● Free bar in Hotel Le Sporting A stay at this chalet-style hotel, which has 22 en-suite bedrooms, means you are assured of great food and a friendly atmosphere, especially in the bar! ● Complimentary wine ● Excellent food Our own in-house ski tech provides clients with high-spec skiing and snowboarding gear on the premises. And, once you are fully equipped, it’s a mere five-minute walk to the slopes. Alternatively, you’ll find that the ski bus stops right outside the door. ● In-house ski tech ● Great for groups ● Games rooms After a day on the piste, you can rest your weary limbs in the famous natural warm spring baths for which the village of Monetier is famed. “great skiing, great food, great crew” Pete, Reading Hotline: 01872 27 27 67 La Clusaz Friendly and stylish resort La Clusaz is a traditional Savoyard village, one of the most picturesque in France. The fusion of Swiss style and French elegance makes it innately charming, a chic destination for a skiing holiday. The village, which is within sight of Mont Blanc, boasts a remarkably large ski area for a single resort and is highly regarded by French skiers for its extensive lift system. This is one of those rare places that appeals to all levels, offering tough challenges for the hardcore as well as natural highs for less demanding skiers. The terrain is incredibly varied and you’ll find plenty to amuse you, from quiet tree-lined runs to the resort’s immense amount of off-piste. La Clusaz is also an ideal family destination, with its friendly village atmosphere and lovely peaceful slopes that lead down into hidden valleys with solitary churches. And, wherever you are, a vin chaud is never far away, as there is an abundance of restaurants, all offering sustenance at affordable prices. It’s the oldest ski resort in France and it’s no wonder that those who visit want to return. Situated on the French/Italian border (which means you can even ski into Italy for a spot of lunch), Monty is the southern-most door into the vast ski area known as the Milky Way, host of the 2006 Winter Olympics. The high altitude, the sheer variety of skiing, the region’s enviable sunshine record and its late-season snow combine to make this a great all-round resort for everyone from powder hounds to blue-run cruisers. The friendly village is small but beautifully formed, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants, all within a stone’s throw of one another. It’s hard not to wax lyrical about Monty and we feel it’s a must for those who have missed out so far. You will find us in the village of Tignes Les Brévières, which still has that sought-after authentic Alpine atmosphere. It’s no secret that this ski area – known as L’Espace Killy – is the most impressive in Europe and is a skier’s paradise. There’s an exceptional mix of runs for all levels, whether you’re after top-notch glacier skiing, tricky moguls, sweeping motorways or wicked off-piste. What’s more, the whole lot is accessed via an enviable integrated lift system. The L’Espace Killy lift pass allows you to link Tignes to the world-famous neighbouring resort of Val d’Isère, which gives you the chance to ski some of the most exciting and challenging terrain in the Alps. Added to all that, there is a wealth of restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes. You can savour the authentic Alpine nightlife in Tignes Les Brévières, or decamp to legendary hang-outs such as Dick’s Tea Bar or Pacific in Val d’Isère – either of which are enough to satisfy even the most hardened party animal. This mouthwatering location, perhaps the last-remaining unspoilt area of the Trois Vallées, is a great place from which to explore the neighbouring resorts of Méribel, Courcheval and Van Thorens. The superb skiing at St Martin de Belleville itself is linked to the rest by a modern and efficient lift system. In fact, the super-fast lift that’s a stone’s throw from your chalet is so good that you can reach the top of Méribel and Courchevel before the crowds. A friendly and informal atmosphere prevails in the village, which has a good range of bars, restaurants and shops as well as a crèche. Chamonix - France La Plagne - France Les Arcs - France La Plagne and Les Arcs share a massive ski area that equates to more than 400km of piste. We think that the best way to enjoy this area is in the tranquillity of the little-known village of Champagny en Vanoise, located on the La Plagne side of the valley. Les Arcs sits at an altitude of 1950m and, along with La Plagne, gives the skier a staggering 400km of piste to explore. For the modernists among you, it offers the efficiency you crave and all the advantages of a purpose-built resort. La Ruche is a fantastic ten-person chalet located in Chamonix town, approximately five minutes by bus from the nearest lift. Chalets du Bouquetin Apartments are furnished to an exceptionally high standard and come in a variety of sizes, sleeping between two and 25 people. They are situated just a five-minute walk from the lifts and two minutes from the village centre. Le Hameau du Glacier Apartments are beautifully finished and have all mod cons. There’s even a full fitness suite including swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and turkish bath. They sleep from two to eight people, offer doorstep skiing, and are situated within a two-minute walk of all amenities. La Ruche Chalets du Bouquetin Apartments Le Hameau du Glacier Apartments Any resort which has Mont Blanc as a backdrop is bound to gain a reputation for year-round activities, extreme sports and challenging skiing – and Chamonix is the epitome of all of these. It is as busy in the summer as it is in the winter, and never ceases to appeal to people across the world who are looking for more advanced skiing. Hotline: 01872 27 27 67 www.skitopia.com France - Italy - Canada Champoluc - Italy Whistler - Canada The village of Champoluc is deep in the heart of the Monterosa ski area. Great food, European chic, a laid-back atmosphere and plenty of bars and restaurants leave you in no doubt that you are in Italy. Be sure to make time for the skiing, though, as this resort is famous for exceptional off-piste and cross country runs. Whistler has a huge ski area, is snow-sure, has great runs, fab après ski, and the choice of more than 100 restaurants. The resort is run with a great combination of military precision and Canadian charm; the only danger is that skiing in Europe will become a distant memory. Hotel Breithorn is stylish, funky and luxurious, offering deluxe modern accommodation. It has a spa and treatment room and two restaurants. There is an on-demand minibus service to run you up to the slopes, which are a mere couple of minutes away. Though Pinnacle International is technically a hotel, the rooms are called studios and are more like small apartments than hotel rooms. Each one has a fully fitted kitchenette, lounge, separate bedroom and fireplace. Fernie - Canada Fernie is smaller than its cousin Whistler, but is nonetheless charming and a little less expensive. It’s known as the powder capital of the Canadian Rockies. Lizard Creek Lodge is situated right next to the lifts and, with a shuttle service into the town, the lodge is a high-quality operation. There’s a full spa, outdoor pool and steam room – jacuzzis are in your fully equipped studio, which also has its own king-size bed. “for more info check out our website” Hotel Breithorn Pinnacle International Lizard Creek Lodge Hotline: 01872 27 27 67 www.skitopia.com Skitopia - S h o p Skitopia kit Our colourful range of staff clothing has proved so popular that we have decided to make it available to everyone. If you are not sure whether something is relevant you should tell us anyway. You should keep a record of any information you give us. If you do not tell Insurers about something that may be relevant your cover may be refused and Insurers may not cover any related claims. Complaints The Insurance policy includes a Complaints Procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint. To make a firm booking: A firm booking is made by completing the booking form and sending it with the deposits to: Skitopia, 40 Lemon Street, Truro, Cornwall TR1 2NS. Skitopia is a trading name of TJM Travel Ltd. (ABTA V4922 & ATOL 2838), hereinafter referred to as 'The Company', whose registered office is Lowin House, Tregolls Road, Truro TR1 2NA and this is who you will make your contract with. No contract exists until we have received the deposit and have issued a booking confirmation. The person signing the booking form confirms that he/she is duly authorised to bind all members of his/her party to the terms of this contract (each being jointly and severally responsible). Payments Deposits: Your tour cost is payable in 2 stages, unless otherwise indicated on your payment schedule. First Deposit: This must accompany your completed and signed booking form. Balance: A statement will be sent to you at least 12 weeks before departure. Your final balance should be sent not later than 10 weeks before departure. Bookings made within 10 weeks of the start of your trip MUST be paid in full at time of booking. We reserve the right to consider our contract terminated, by you, if any payment is late. Prices Prices are based on programmes described in this and other Skitopia brochures and/or our website skitopia.com. Any requests for variations to advertised programmes will be treated as special requests and as such do not form part of our contract with you and, therefore, cannot be guaranteed. Our prices are subject to surcharge as a result of government action or currency fluctuation as well as increases in the cost of aviation fuel. In the case of a surcharge being necessary, the Company will absorb an amount equivalent to 2% of your tour price. Should the increase in the price of your tour be more than 10% of the total cost you will be entitled to cancel your trip and have refunded to you all monies paid minus any insurance premiums and amendment fees. Should you wish to cancel for this reason you have 14 days after the issue of our invoice in which to do so. Our prices were calculated in July 2004 based on exchange rates supplied by Lloyds TSB Bank on the 6th July 2004. £1 = 1.49 Euros; £1 = 2.42 Canadian Dollars Cancellations By You Cancellations are only accepted when received in writing, and charges will be made as follows: More than 12 weeks before departure: loss of all deposits paid or due. Between 4 and 12 weeks before departure: 60% of total cost to be paid. Less than 4 weeks before departure: 80% of total cost to be paid. 2 weeks or less before departure: Total invoiced cost. You may, of course, make a claim on your insurance if your cancellation comes within the terms of the policy. Clients who do not show for their holiday or who are prevented from travelling by virtue of not having correct travel documents in their possession (passports, visas, tickets, etc) or prevented from boarding flights (or other modes of transport) due to incapacity (drunkenness, medical conditions, etc) or other reasons (aggressive behaviour etc) will be deemed to have cancelled their holidays at that point. As this cancellation will have been deemed to have been made 2 weeks or less before departure the cancellation charge will be the full invoiced cost. For the avoidance of doubt, it is solely the responsibility of the client to ensure that they have the correct documents required to travel. Please be aware that many flights to French destinations fly into Italian airports so clients must be able to enter both countries. Cancellation or Material Changes Made By Us Whilst The Company will endeavour to ensure that all arrangements satisfy your requirements, nevertheless it may be necessary in some situations to make alterations particularly if events outside our control dictate. The Company reserve the right to provide comparable alternative arrangements if operational or other considerations dictate (this will not be considered to be a material change), for example if your chosen Hotel or resort was not operable for any reason (e.g. lack of snow in a ski resort) we could substitute a similar package in another resort. We reserve the right to move apartment groups into Hotel or Chalet accommodation at our discretion - this will not be construed to be a material change to arrangements. The Company also reserves the right to upgrade coach groups to air travel, at the discretion of The Company. Any changes of resort, country, travel arrangements, or programme to facilitate such an upgrade will not be construed as a material change. Groups will, therefore, not have the right to cancel or to compensation in such circumstances. Groups moved to a cheaper holiday will be refunded the difference between the price they paid and the price quoted in this brochure. Groups moved to a package more expensive than the price paid will be upgraded for free. If we do have to cancel a booking or if we make material alterations to any of the arrangements, we will notify you without delay and offer you a choice of alternative arrangements, if they are available, or a refund of all monies paid. Any such refund will be sent within 14 clear days. If we make a material change after the final invoice has been issued you will be entitled to compensation as follows: 70-35 days before departure: £5 per paying person 35-15 days before departure: £7 per paying person 14 days or less before departure: £10 per paying person We will not cancel your holiday after 2 weeks before your departure date unless it is necessary to do so as a result of hostilities, political unrest, industrial disputes or other circumstances amounting to force majeure or any other cause beyond our control, or unless you default in payment of your final balance. If we do have to cancel for these reasons you will not be entitled to a refund of monies paid, and in the case of an unpaid balance you would be liable to cancellation charges. If You Have a Complaint If you have a complaint about any service provided by us in resort, this should be reported immediately to our local representative or agent in order that action can be taken, where possible. If a complaint cannot be resolved, then please follow it up with a letter to The Company within 28 days of returning from your holiday, as The Company will not accept liability in respect of claims received outside this period. The Company normally manages to agree an amicable settlement of the few complaints received, however, in the unlikely event that an agreed settlement cannot be reached you may take advantage of the special arbitration scheme as described below. tions and liabilities as provided by relevant international conventions. Arbitration Disputes arising out of, or in connection with, the Contract which cannot be amicably settled, may (if the customer so wishes) be referred to arbitration under a special scheme which, though devised by arrangements with the Association of British Travel Agents, is administered quite independently by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The scheme (details of which will be supplied on request) provides for a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on the customer in respect of costs. The scheme does not apply to claims for an amount greater than £1,500 per person or £7,500 per booking form or to claims that are solely or mainly in respect of physical injury or illness or the consequences of such injury or illness.
